the products were very good but we did nt like the plastic packaging - be good to see just paper and card used or if plastic - just the minimum - there were 3 thick plastic bags around the dried bannanas we bought - but they are delicious!

Thank you for your feedback Meredith. We cherish every opportunity to talk directly to our valued customers and clarify any points of concern. The bananas arrive in the UK in these bags. We simply take them out of the transit box and add a label. The goods are sent over land by sealed container from Uganda to Mombasa on the Kenyan coast and then take 6-8 weeks to reach the UK by ship. This is the lowest possible impact transport method but we have found from experience that the triple bag is necessary minimise damage to the product during what can be a 13 week journey - they actually start their journey quite puffy and airy to try to reduce excessive compaction of this sticky product. Paper packaging would allow infestation and product drying out during this journey where temperatures in the container reach 40+ degrees centigrade. I hope this assures you that any packaging usage is considered here at TW HQ and we're glad you found the product inside top notch. Take care!
A bit disappointing...
Short delivery on apricot & raisin bars - ordered 24, received 6. Porcini dried mushrooms were in a bag which had a large split in it. However, my email was responded to in a timely fashion and I am expecting to receive the balance of the apricot bars, plus a replacement bag of dried mushrooms in a few days.

I usually get Tropical Wholefoods stuff from my local fair trade shop. I have also put orders in with Traidcraft during lockdown. However there is more variety on the TW website. Service and delivery were good- products fab.
