We had bought a garden fork from the Chesterfield store as a gift for someone but it turned out that it wasn't needed. A little while had passed since buying it so we spoke to customer services to ask if we could still return it. They spoke to Chloe at the Chesterfield store who said it would be okay to take it back if it was still in its 'as bought' condition, which was the case. It was a few more days before we could get back to the store. We met up with Chloe who was immediately pleasant and helpful. Having checked the garden fork she efficiently processed a refund back onto the credit card that we had used to buy it. All round a very good and professional service. Thank you.

I visited Wickes Chesterfield on 15 May 2026 to pick up some paint, and I had a really great experience. The store was clean, well organised, and easy to navigate, which made finding what I needed quick and straightforward.
The range of paint available was excellent, with plenty of options to choose from at competitive prices. The staff were friendly and approachable, and although I knew what I needed, it was reassuring to see they were available and happy to help if required—something many customers consistently highlight about this store.
Checkout was smooth with no long queues, and overall the visit was efficient and stress-free. I’ll definitely be returning for future DIY supplies and would happily recommend Wickes Chesterfield to others.

From the moment we arrived, the team were incredibly friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful. A special thank you to Sarah, who truly went above and beyond while helping us mix paints for our little boy’s Thomas the Tank Engine themed bedroom. She took the time to get everything just right and made the whole experience really enjoyable.
What really stood out was how warm and engaging she was with our son – chatting with him about his new bedroom and his love of trains. It made the visit feel really personal and special, not just a quick transaction.
Nothing felt like too much trouble, and the level of customer service was outstanding. We’ll definitely be coming back for future projects.

Lesley came out to the wrong address after I had called the shop to correct the details. She struggled to take measurements and seemed disinterested for the 10 minutes she stayed. I will be using another company.

Had someone come out to measure my flat for a new kitchen and bathroom and haven’t heard from them since , it’s been over 3 months. Ridiculous

Dwain Griffin arrived promptly. He measured up, drew a rectangle (said to represent our kitchen.) He promised the plans in 48hrs. max. It has been 7 months and we have heard nothing! Worst service imaginable.

Ian was really helpful I was being very particular about the paint I wanted and he helped us throughout our visit to wikes, we painted the walls today and the colour was exactly what I wanted!

I recently ordered from wickes of Chesterfield and the buying online was great easy to navigate and see what I was ordering and see the clear pictures. The delivery driver was brilliant nice friendly young man. Respected my property and was very helpful as I ordered 4 big bags of pebbles for my garden, he asked me where I would like them to be placed so saving me a job of lugging them from front garden to back garden.
Delivery was speedy and on time.

Wickes went above and beyond for our Scout group by generously donating a foldable trolley for us to use at camps and during our weekly meetings. It might seem like a simple item, but for us it makes a huge difference.

The trolley is sturdy, practical, and has already made transporting equipment safer and easier for our young people and leaders. Their support helps us focus more on delivering great activities and less on the heavy lifting—literally.

It’s fantastic to see a company genuinely supporting local community groups. Thank you, Wickes, for helping us give our Scouts the best experiences we can. Your kindness will be appreciated for years to come.

Easy to order products, clear pricing. Had a delivery today from Chesterfield store and the delivery driver was truly outstanding, very personable young man and very helpful.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Wickes store in Chesterfield recently.

While shopping in the store itself was fine, the service at the tills completely let the experience down. The staff member who served me, A larger man who I believe was named Rico or Rich according to the name badge, was abrupt and dismissive throughout the interaction. There was no greeting and it felt as though serving customers was an inconvenience rather than part of the job.

When I asked a simple question, I received a short and unhelpful response, which only added to the frustration. Good customer service doesn’t require much — just basic courtesy and a willingness to help — but unfortunately that was completely lacking in this situation.

I hope management at Wickes Chesterfield take feedback like this seriously and remind staff that professionalism and politeness towards customers matter. This interaction left a very poor impression and made what should have been a simple purchase unnecessarily unpleasant.

Based on this experience, I’ll definitely think twice before returning to this store.

Visited to get some Dulux paint mixed. Craig was very helpful, and found a good solution when a product was out of stock
