Great experience and explanation from Mike at glossop , understood what I wanted and came up with a great plan

Mark the operations manger really does know his stuff, we took a part in from the shower not knowing where to start looking. He was able to advise which part was required and how to fit the part very knowledgable. He helped make a job 10mins instead of hours

Went to my local store ( Glossop) excellent friendly helpful staff, Brilliant product knowledge from Reuben about hozelock hose reels.

Wickes put in a kitchen for me a few years ago and I've nothing but trouble from day 1.

The design we spent hours going over in store didn't even match the designs the workers came with. Parts were missing, and other parts were the wrong size.

They installed a filter and light above my cooker but didn't fix it properly. Instead of using the premade holes for screws they drilled a single hole through the unit and used that to attach it to my wall. They didn't even use the right type of screw for our wall.

They put a cover over our boiler that was far too big and far too low so it blocks counter space.

They didn't even come with the shelving we had ordered.

They didn't install the bins that were supposed to be on a track behind a door because everything they had was the wrong size.

They knocked a hole in our wall and were going to leave us with exposed wires in a house with a 2 year old. I had to threaten to report them.

A few years on now we have discovered that upon needing to turn off our water that the Wickes cowboy builders had just installed our new kitchen over the top of our stop tap, so it cannot be reached to be turned off. We are lucky we haven't had a water problem recently.

They could have easily fixed this while my entire kitchen was ripped out. It's not a big job to move a stop tap when nothing is in the way, But they are too lazy and inept.

We are LUCKY we found this out today and it's only because I have a genuine tradesman putting in a new bathroom. If we discovered this during an emergency it would not be possbile to fix.

I would urge you to never waste your money on work being done by Wickes. You have been warned.

Now I have to have part of my kitchen destroyed just to access the stop tap then eventually have it moved.

Hi all, Lewis here. Just came on here to say that Jade at the Glossop store is a bloody life saver! Working in the Glossop area this week doing some decorating for a long standing client. Anyway, my newest apprentice decided it'd be a clever idea to balance a nearly full tub of paint on the top of the ladder at the top of the stairs in the house we were working in. I've walked halfway up the stairs to grab another roll of wallpaper and next thing you know I'm absolutely caked head to toe in fecking magnolia paint. Clean myself up best I could, but clearly needed some new work gear to crack on with the rest of the day. Nipped into the Glossop store and couldn't find the workwear aisle for the life of me. Enter Jade. Pointed me in the right direction straight away, helped me find the right size and fit and above all she properly made me feel better about the whole ordeal as I was a gnats bollock away from sacking the lad there and then. What an exceptional show of character. She absolutely deserves some recognition and thought it'd be a good way to do it by leaving this review.

Reuben supported myself and my school in accessing community funding to support maintenance work for our outdoor area. He was efficient, helpful and incredibly supportive! I would recommend using Wickes for any other community projects or schools and Reuben in particular went above and beyond!

Very helpful member of staff called Ben went out of his way to help me.

I visited the Glossop store and asked for help finding a piece of board I could use in the garden and when I explained what I needed it for, Reuben was so helpful in finding me something suitable. He then carried the awkward item to the till for me and found a trolley for me to use. He also loaded it with 3 bags of compost I needed too voluntarily. Lovely chap, polite, very helpful, knowledgeable, and helped me find a solution. Wonderful customer service - thank you so much Reuben.

Went to the Glossop store looking to repaint a room and mount a heavy shelf - Jack was absolutely wonderful, he walked me through every step of the process and helped me find everything I needed - huge thanks lad, wishing you all the best!

Reuben, Dillon and Jade were super friendly on the till and really helpful for what i needed! they made my day by having a laugh with me and helping with my paint!

Mark was SO helpful today when I called in at your store at Glossop. I needed help with my son’s loft insulation and Mark listed to my questions and responded excellently showing his knowledge and experience.

We came into store unsure of what we were looking for. Jack was so helpful and well versed in the product selection. He offered us a range of items that would be suitable and showed great attention to detail and friendly customer service. The best service we have had in the Glossop store. Mark was brilliant, do helpful and went out of his way to make sure we had what we need!

Mark went above and beyond in helping us find the correct piping to replace outside waste pipes, he even cut it to size for us.

I often visit Wickes in Glossop and am always greeted by their staff and one girl in particular (Cara) always serves me with a smile and asks what I need. She is always polite and ready to help me. Even giving me advice when I'm not sure what Im looking for certain DIY tasks.
I often recommend wickes as I think it's always a pleasant experience due to the staff and their knowledge.
