"Pinkertons reportedly demanded the return of the "stolen" cards, which he says he purchased from his friend. The agents ultimately took back the cards, boxes and foil wrappers, even counting the cards to ensure they retrieved them all. The agents also demanded he remove his MTG leak videos. During the incident, oldschoolmtg stated that the Pinkertons mentioned the potential of "jail time" to him and his wife. He called a representative at Wizards of the Coast that the Pinkertons referred him to, who oldschoolmtg described as "apologetic" about what happened and said they just needed to ensure the leak went no further."

On another note. NEVER comply with private security ghouls like this. They have absolutely no right to do this. The leaker was dumb for complying with these guys. He should have just closed the door and called a lawyer. they basically sent thugs who are known for killing people to shake down this guy - ffs WOTC wt-f were you thinking?

One of the worst companies

Customer service does not red the content of emails. Instead they only send templated emails. They lie about the nature of arena (they use a matchmaker)

What happened to magic

What happened to magic. Your banned and restricted list gets more and more but the cards get more and more powerful. And we have to spend more and more money to some what keep up. I am watching YouTube of people opening 9 pre release boxes and everyone has access to Mom before it's even out without going to a pre release. I was there and did my time to get the 1 pre release box that I deserved. And I payed good money to play fun magic. I got a bunch of bad draws and wasted my money being that the guy next to me had a card that was a more powerful cheaper version of a banned card. I can't play my banned cards and I'm restricted on certain cards but if you have the money you can buy a better mor powerful card then what's on that list. Do yall even look at the lists before you drop cards or do you just care about the money anymore? Do you care about the people that have love for playing the game anymore or is it just a cash cow for you?

A Song of Greed and Subterfuge

This company recently decided to uproot their entire customer base in a potentially illegal attempt to strangle old and new third-party content creators with retroactively demanding 25% royalties based on gross revenue.

This would have been done via essentially voiding the Open Game License 1.0a, under which many excellent games and game systems have been made over the past 20 years.

The disgustingly greedy and tone-deaf behaviour displayed by this company should be a clear warning that they want to destroy what it means to play Dungeons and Dragons.

This company is continuously ruining its IP. They stomp on customers beliefs and trust. Money grabbing greedy corporations should not get rewarded.

The competition is there for us. Let’s step on over and be done with this crap company and let them deal with other companies that went too far. (EA, Activision, Blizzard, etc.)

Destructive company that doesn't…

Destructive company that doesn't realize that their profits come from their consumers. You cannot sustainably put profits before customer and expect to keep your customer. You provide a service for us, we pay for that service. We are unhappy with the way you treat the people and our beloved games. I will no longer purchase from this company until the games we love are put above Hasbro's arbitrary authoritarian decisions.

Don't trust this company.

Don't trust this company.
Their new OGL is made to curb users and max out profits using other people's work without payment.

They resort to lying and other shady tactics in order to push it through.

All of this has been confirmed through their own actions and insider information from employees.

Thieves. More money for less value

I used to like D&D. I thought 3rd edition was good but it seems that the company has taken a turn for the worse since then. Over the years they have tried to squeeze more and more money out of their fan base. Leaked information shows that the main topics in their company is about getting more money form fans not about delivering more value for their fans. It is clear they just see the fanbase and publishers as cattle the need to milk or slaughter.

I refuse to buy any more Hasbro Wizards of the Coast products. There are many more publishers and designers that really care about their fans and I hope that if more people do it it bankrupts them.

Nonexistant customer support

Can't even call it "Customer service" considering how bad it is. Took them 21 days to respond to a ticket I filled via their support site.

And once someone did get back to me they didn't answer any of the simple questions I'd ask and seemingly hadn't even read it. Seeing that the representative was talking about something completely unrelated.

And when I responded someone else came back, said I had submited a ticket for the wrong product and to make a new one, and then just one-sidedly marked it as "Solved".

NEVER EVER buy a "Secret Lair" product or anything else from them ever. All responses were also quite clearly premade templates and I'm honestly unsure if any of them are actual people.

Their customer service is horrible

Their customer service is horrible. No answer, no nothing other than an automated email saying "sorry, were backed up". Its been a week now. WTH? No number to call, no nothing. They can just easily hide behind email and not respond. I purchased a product online from them, it was damaged upon arrival. I will never buy anything from them via their website/store. I will go to a local gaming store. Lesson learned.

Hundreds of $$$ purchases and still no answer for weeks!!! (More than 4 weeks and still no answers).

Come on you can do worse but at least try to do better.

Absolutly no customer support.

I cannot recommend online purchase at all, just use your local game store and all will be fine.

Wizards can and has done better

5/5 for products (DnD books, Magic the Gathering).

1/5 for customer support and quality assurance.

Wizards of the Coast (Hereby abbreviated WotC) has a truly amazing team. WotC products have a large place in my life. It's so incredibly frustrating that their quality assurance in Magic the Gathering has fallen by the wayside. Between misprinted and unusable foil bending, I have seldom seen sloppier quality assurance (I used to work in food QA).
If either the QA team or the Customer Service teams were strong enough to cover for the lapses of the other, there would be nearly no issues. Wizards has, of late, been outsourcing some of their direct sales to Scalefast. Scalefast is a company that assists in customer service and other end to end sales tasks. Scalefast seems generally overworked and always states that there is a lag in support due to a large volume of customer complaints. I assume this to be a problem of size, which is supposed to be the entire point of Scalefast as a company.

I recieved confirmation for a refund for missing product from a shipment of a "secret lair" (Wizards direct to customer sales portal for Magic the Gathering). The email stated a 7 day turnaround for a refund. I recieved this email on the 14th of November, and today is the 4th of December. I believe this to not be malicious, but rather a function of increased and unregulated scaling of services. I placed my customer support ticket on the 22nd of October. It has been months of limbo with WotC and the Scalefast team, where I was told they were investigating whether a refund was even possible with the 'relevant teams'. From what I have read online, this is not a unique experience.

Wizards needs to invest in better customer service before the customer goodwill dries up. Scalefast is not the solution they were hoping for. I genuinely hope for better outcomes for future customers (myself hopefully included).

Wotc money only…

Lets start with terrible customer service for returns, cheating company that has a rigged shuffler on mtg Arena. The mtg arena is a very terrible shuffling mechanic that rigs games and never makes the games close its always a 1 sided match, or the opponent CONSTANTLY TOP DECKS. No matter how good ur deck is ull never win tournaments or get a good rating unless ur cheating in someway. They need to bring msrp back to magic the gathering products to prevent these small stores from gouging decks packs etc. warhammer 40k decks just released and their $80 avg but foils decks are $300+ which is just utterly insanity. Wotc has no care for their customer base just are flooding the market with WAYYYYYY too much product. The product u open isnt worth money on the 2ndary market bc theres sooooo much of it. U buy a single pack for around $4-$8 and u get a $0.50 card 90% of the time. Screw packs and wotc. They are absolute trash. This has been going on for many years and they wont ever fix anything

Couple months ago I pre ordered a set…

Couple months ago I pre ordered a set booster box for baldurs gate. I'm not an old school player, roughly when ikoria came out is when I got into the game with some friends. My first time buying a whole set box and worst mistake I wont make again. Each pack was identical, the cards I pulled, the production codes/serial numbers, even the wrapper seemed improperly sealed. I reached out to support describing as much as I can and providing pictures to their specifics. I was told that support will submit my report to another team for review and from there I heard nothing. I then reached out again only to get a bot response and still nothing. It's fine I will no longer spend nothing on this product and make my own proxies. I encourage proxies over mtg anyway. It's the game mechanics and strategy that is fun and not how much the card is worth. Greed will always be a downfall

Forget this game, there's plenty of others around now.

I have been playing the physical card game since the Ice Age set. Over the years I've watched this company turn into yet another cash grab/don't care about quality or customers company.

The foils are always shot and bent (all they would have to do is foil the whole card but they'd rather pinch pennies), the secret lair cards are the hugest scam I've ever seen. The print quality and consistency is a complete joke. I have bought packs from two different stores in the same city, and some will look matte and some cards will look glossy. It completely destroyed the lands from the new Innistrad block. Cards come damaged in sealed booster packs far more than they should, and believe me because I've purchased hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth last year in full booster boxes.

Me and some friends got back into it, and as much as I still love playing I regret it now. These guys do not deserve more money until they start focusing on quality over quantity again. Boycott this business.

Date is... 3rd August 2023

How the f*#* are you supposed to play against cheats. My opponent always has the cards they need. I haven't lost a game PROPERLY yet, I've had to keep conceding which isn't losing because I'm being cheated. Shuffling system is BS. get rid of the LOTR. You probably haven't played proper paper magic. STOP F#*"ING CHEATING, MONEY GRABBING WA*#'RS. Trustpilot won't let me give today's date which is 3rd August 2023.
