The instructions were poorly printed &…

The instructions were poorly printed & black and white, illegible. The YouTube video plays at speed without pausing to show the individual parts either - no use at all!

The bed is made from very very heavy chipboard too which they don’t mention on their website.

Poor quality metal work too, it’s been a matter of months and the frame dips in the middle and creaks. Steer clear!

It seems all they have focused on is the fabric, which in fairness seems good quality and well stitched but all in all a terrible bed and wish I hadn’t have bought. Raised a complaint to no response.

Bed damaged not delivered, no refund yet

Ordered bed to be delivered in 3 weeks. Day before delivery date was told headboard had been damaged and was the last one in stock so replacement could not be delivered. Obviously this was frustrating as I had taken time of work for delivery. They offered me a different bedhead which I did not want. They said would be back in contact within a day to let me know when the bedhead I ordered would be back in stock. I had to call everyday and was told someone would get back to me but they never did. I was only able to get a response by emailing after 5 days. Eventually I was promised a full refund within 5-7 days but 1 month later I am yet to receive this.

Staff were always polite and friendly but it seems the people who confirm the decision are very hard to get hold of which means the customer service operators are unable to do anything.

My whole experience has been very stressful and frustrating and I would not recommend this company. The worst thing is when you are having these problems are the twee messages telling me to "In the meantime, sit back, make a cuppa. Milk, one sugar if you’re asking."

Highly recommend this company

Highly recommend this company, prompt delivery and excellent quality at a very reasonable price. I was a little worried as I've never bought a bed online before, but all I can say is the bed is great, relative easy to put together and looks amazing in my bedroom!

AVOID at all costs!

AVOID at all costs!! Really bad company and customer service.
Beds never arrive. Called them 10 times, having to give my personal details every time, never get a call back. They are always "busy" when asking to speak with someone either in Sales or Refunds or any department outside Reception. The Customer Service is outrageously bad. You ask for a refund and they will only process it after you ask the second time! It then takes ages to get the refund, despite them confirming that they will cancel and refund the order. Extremely bad customer service. Would NOT recommend using them.

I hate leaving bad reviews but I have…

I hate leaving bad reviews but I have nothing good to say about Yark. I ordered a bed in late June for delivery 6/7. No communication so I emailed a couple of days before to be told delays to fabric. I am somewhat sympathetic about this as Brexit has caused a lot of delays in ports and is really affecting SMEs. I accepted new delivery window and again, after chasing, told further delays. Again, it’s not the delays that bother me so much as the inability of someone to pick up the phone and tell me without me having to email. Delays happened on three occasions so in the end I changed my order to a bed in stock. Delivery set and delivery window given. 46 minutes before my delivery window I was contacted by the delivery company to be told that the bed had been delivered to the wrong depot so would not be arriving that day after all. No alternative time slot/date given. Apparently someone from Yark tried to let me know the evening before but for whatever reason they failed to reach me and I certainly didn’t receive an email or text from them. They have since been very apologetic and I was offered a further £50 compensation (£50 already compensated for delays) but declined and cancelled my order as completely lost trust in the company. I envisaged bed finally being delivered with missing assembly parts etc and another 3 months chasing them for these. Regrettably I would say to save your sanity do not order from Yark. I have been genuinely appalled by their extreme ineptitude.

They damaged the item en route meaning they were not allowed to deliver it. Although this is extremely rare, we never want a damaged product being delivered.

Once again I report the terrible…

Once again I report the terrible service I am receiving from this company. Noyone ever gets back to you by phone or email. I now need to return the bed as I cannot get the headboard up my stairs no measurements on bed only size of box🤦‍♀️. After fighting with them they said they will collect at a cost of £80 which it does say on website but I will have to wait at least 14 days which I have said I can’t as I have no room to store it and if I’m paying £80 I want it collected within 48hrs like they say they deliver within 48hrs! Now I’m told that you cannot return the mattress which hasn’t even been unwrapped ! I have just looked on which magazine who says I have 14days under consumer rights act 2015. They are breaking the law. Do not buy from this cowboy company. This company has replied to a previous review I left and their reply is utter rubbish but unfortunately I cannot reply to it. Just look at all the other bad reviews all saying the same thing

Excellent value for money!

After weeks of thorough research on line and on the high street for a new double ottoman bed after spotting an online advert Yark seemed to rise head and shoulders above all others for the look and value for money.
I had some concerns after reading some negative reviews but I needn't have worried. Communication was excellent from both Yark and the courier and our purchase arrived on the day it was ordered for.
The instructions were clear with paper and video to follow, that being said it is quite complex and I feel the 2 hour guide time is a little optimistic.
Now the bed is in situ and in use we really couldn't be more pleased and any concerns about purchasing online were unfounded. A similar style on the high street would be considerably more and I'm not sure of such high quality.

Researched a new bed as needed extra…

Researched a new bed as needed extra storage space for a long time, and knew that I wanted an Ottoman gaslift as opposed to a Divan. Finally settled on this one after researching for over a fortnight solid. Fantastic value as a solid bed and well designed and finished. Easy to follow to assemble with the YouTube video to support.

Great service

Recently ordered a bed and sadly the courier messed up. Yark were extremely apologetic and really went above and beyond trying to sort it out. I wish every company went this far when issues occur!

A very disappointing experience

In the search for a new bed, Yark appeared on my social media and after a bit of research I was sold. Promises of no middle man, 48 hour delivery and superior quality plus some very slick marketing. I ordered swatches and they came quickly and again, the material received and the packaging impressed. Sadly it was all down hill from here.

To summarise, the 48 hour delivery was apparently not possible and the delivery slot given was 3 weeks away. Slightly disappointing but not a big deal. However, days before the delivery day, Yark contacted and despite not being a 'middle man', their supplier had let them down and we would have to wait another two weeks. I was offered a small amount (£30) of compensation, however asked for this to be escalated. Following this, it was just a catalogue of issues - calls not returned; emails promised and never received plus no way of ever speaking to someone who could help or getting transferred. I just kept getting told 'I need to check with the warehouse as they make the decisions'. I then noticed a number of very similar review recently added on Trustpilot and I emailed/ called again. I received a reply a few days later (tech issues apparently) to say that my bed would now be the end of August (nearly two months after ordering....far from the 2 days advertised!). I have requested a refund and would be very cutious about dealing with Yark - they are very showy at first, but literally can't deliver the goods and the operation process seems very amateur. I have now ordered from a different company.

Be aware of delivery timelines

Hi ordered the king size ottoman in oatmeal on 11 July with the option to have the bed delivered by 5 August.

On the weekend I sent an email asking for an update. I received no response.

I sent a follow up email today asking for an update and mentioned the reviews that have been recently posted.

I received a response this evening telling me of server breakdowns on Tuesday so they couldn’t respond to an email sent on Saturday. They told of of fabric delays and that the bed would now be delayed by two weeks.

This is according to them “extremely rare” but based off of the reviews here it can’t be so rare but I’d say a rather common occurrence.

They also tried me to change the base to get the bed earlier. I declined this by telling them I would have ordered a different bed if I wanted that at the time of ordering.

I fear I’m going to be fobbed off with a lot more excuses from this company and the recent reviews are making me question this company.

I will be updating this review as the order progresses to keep all potential customers updated.

I purchased a bed last August and…

I purchased a bed last August and suffer with a prolapsed disc and I have contacted the founder to no avail. The middle slats have broken and the one metal leg is faulty. I am now resorting to sleeping on a mattress as the bed sinks where the slats have broke. I expected it to last longer than a year

Be careful and read more 1 star reviews before ordering

I ordered a bed (King Size ottoman in Oatmeal) on 7 February 2022 with a scheduled delivery date in March.

I was notified soon after ordering that the bed was out of stock with a cheeky IT bots reason that said I should not have been allowed to order the bed and I was requested to change the design of the bed so that they could fulfill the order.

The bed remained available to order for at least a month after this and I notified the team that I did not want to change the design. I told them that if I wanted to change this I would have ordered a different design from the beginning. They tried to do this several times during the period February - June 2022.

In April I followed up and I was told the same story and asked to change the design. Again, I said no. I was then told they were not sure when the bed would be back in stock.

In May I followed up twice, once to tell me they still do not know. Then towards the middle of May I was told they expected to be in production within 4-5 weeks and they would be able to guarantee delivery in the first week of June.

In June I was told once again of production delays but they were expecting the fabric to arrive by the 3rd week of June and continued to promise delivery for the end of June. By mid June I noticed the bed had dropped in price from £699 to £499. I demanded a difference in price refund, which they said I would receive after delivery.

At this point I became fed up and left a review on Trustpilot. Yark emailed me and asked me to remove the review as the review would hurt the business. They claimed that they had been upfront. I pointed out that I had been the one chasing them for updates at every point and not once had they been forthcoming or upfront with any communications. I removed the review and gave them the benefit of the doubt - how stupid and naive I was.

At the end of June I again asked for an update only to be told they are still awaiting the fabric and the bed is not yet in production claiming small delays. I was then told on 24 June that the bed would be in production the following week with delivery in another 4-7 weeks.

I had since made well over a dozen calls thanks to an earlier reviewer who has listed the number. Each time I was told customer service is not available or I was told to leave a message and someone would call back. Not once did someone call me back.

By the time July rolled around they stopped replying to my emails and would provide useless responses over the phone.

I asked for a refund twice by phone and more than once by email. I eventually did get this, and was offended at the 'tell us what you are spending your refund on instead' email.

This company claimed to provide 5 star customer service. They have not. They have not once made an attempt to be truthful, they cannot stick to dates they themselves have promised, they cannot call customers back and if you do not email them they most definitely won't let you know of any delays. Compensation was also never offered as a way of apology which really is the least they could have done. I was also told on several occasions that this is all really rare but after reading the many negative reviews all of which are complaints about the same thing it can’t be all that rare. It’s just more lies to try and pass the blame and not take responsibility.

For a bed ordered in February that never arrived this became incredibly stressful and frustrating that I am now still without a bed.

I don't think the bed has ever reached production. If you look on the website and do a pretend order the delivery dates are now scheduled for 30 August. A delivery date in July was and is never going to be achieved and I would have been issued more lies and excuses instead.

Avoid this company unless you are happy to wait and wait and wait for a bed that never materialises and a company full of staff that can only lie and mislead.

False promises matching other customers experiences (please read the low rated reviews for genuine experiences)

Before deciding to order I checked the trustpilot reviews and decided to take a chance with ordering from Yark. We ordered a boucle bed, and did so on the basis some reviews said that despite lots of issues, once the bed arrives it is worth the wait.

Unfortunately, our experience with Yark has been nothing short of awful. We ordered on 15 May, and apart from the order confirmation received no updates at all. The bed was due to arrive on 13 June, so I contacted on 9 June to ask for an update. The response received on 10 June seemt to match others, where Yark claim the order had been processed, but the courier had damegd the items. Apparently, this is extremely rare (clearly not that rare if other reviews report the exact same response). Like other reports, they attempt to use wit and humour in the email, which is not appreciated. I firmly beleive if I had not emailed, they would not have told me and I would have wasted the day waiting for a delivery that was not arriving.

Having rang several times on 10 June (number helpfully posted on this website), I was called that evening by David, who claimed the issues were genuine (I told him this was sounding all too familiar based on the reviews left on trustpilot), and that they would reproduce the bed for delivery w/c 4 July and provided weekly updates. At this point I should have just cancelled, but I gave the benefit of the doubt. I asked for a discount, and following a further call on 13 June it was confirmed that a discount could be applied. On such basis, I agreed to give Yark the chance to put things right. They emailed after this call to confirm they would reproduce the bed and issue the refund within the week, to go back on the next week (another false promise).

I received one email update on 24 June (but this was only after I called Yark twice that day for updates) to say they had spoken to production and the bed would be produced w/c 4 July, but then the promised weekly communication no longer followed. I had to chase for the refund, which was received only after I requested it again.

Unsuprisingly, I heard no update come w/c 4 July and called Yark EIGHT times that week. Each time, I was told to leave my details and someone from the 'warehouse' would call back - which they did not. I then received a call at 4:15pm on 8/7 (a bit sly) to say there was a 'delay' with the fabric. I asked Yark to be upfront and confirm how long the bed would actually take, as I just wanted to know and plan (the bed is being purchased as part of a house move, and so has delayed us moving in). As they continued to mess around, I cancelled the order on 11 July and was told a full refund would be issued and I would get an email to confirm. Again, this did not happen and I had to call 3 times that week to chase this. In the end, I told Yark I had not yet left a trustpilot review, but my experience had been terrible and the longer they messed us around, the more this would affect the review I left. This seemed to do the trick, as the next day I got an email to confirm the cancellation, and a refund then followed.

It seems likely from the experience, that Yark promise you a product that they know full well won't be delivered on time. They then use the excuse of damage (which is extremely rare) to buy more time. I would much prefer to be told from the off, the true time scales the bed will take to be produced. I would have no issue in ordering if I knew it would take 8 or 9 weeks, what I don't appreciate is being lied to and strung along.

As it stands, a bed I ordered on 15 May was never produced as far as I am concerned, and Yark made a series of false promises to string us along. The level of customer service has been shocking, and it is highly unprofessional to promise to respond to customers, and not do this (until last thing on a Friday). I am now left with no bed over 9 weeks after ordering, and a great deal of stress which could be avoided.

Please avoid this company at all costs

Worth every penny! 5* Rating

Excellent service and product. Ordered my bed using the website which is very easy to use and offers a variety of designs/colours. I really like how it shows you exactly how the end design will look like! Was given a delivery slot straight away and my bed came right on time and the driver put it neatly in my room. The bed was really simple to put together with both the manual instructions and video tutorial. The bed is very durable and I really like the ottoman storage as I can fit in so much and I still have so much space left over. The show stopping headboard is worth every penny and I absolutely love the fabric which I can tell is excellent quality and long lasting. Couldn't fault any aspect. Thanks so much Yark Beds!
