SCAM SCAM SCAM

This company is shocking!!! Avoid at all costs and don’t be fooled.

So placed an order on 2nd May for delivery on 12th May only to receive a phone call the day before from somebody asking me have I chosen an alternative headboard??? To which I replied what are you talking about no one has even told me the headboard I ordered isn’t available.

Having chosen an alternative headboard after many unfulfilled promises that somebody would contact me, delivery was rearranged for Monday 30th May.

The delivery time slot passed and it was only when I contacted Yark that I was told the courier had discovered some damage and could not deliver. Why was I not informed having wasted a whole day!!!

Delivery was then rearranged for Thursday 2nd June. Upon arrival the courier informed me that there was damage to a box and would I be willing to accept it. I inspected the box and did accept it but why on earth was this not just delivered on 30th May then!!

Having unpacked everything to commence assembly we found there were no instructions!! And conveniently Yark have only made an assembly video for the ottoman bed and ours is a drawer base.

I contacted Yark on 3rd and 4th June only to be told someone would contact me but nothing!!!

Therefore I’m left with no bed and just a load of boxes!

Communication is absolutely appuling with everyone you speak to being incapable of dealing with anything and all they want to do is take your details.

I did obtain a phone number and for anyone that may find it useful it’s +44 161 410 0589

Yark will no doubt respond to this review with a pathetic attempt of comedy. This is outright insulting to your customers.

You can pretend to be a good company and attempt to be funny but poor reviews speak louder.

Incompetent staff and the worst communication I’ve ever experienced.

Oh and just to sign off, apparently no one works at the weekend at Yark! Must be the only online retailer not to do this!! Well done

In fact we’re not a scam. We’re a legitimate UK, tax paying business and everyone within our business works super hard (even on weekends).

Your items were ready for delivery on the 12th May when sadly our carrier dropped a clanger and damaged your bed base. This is extremely rare that they would damage an item. We contacted you immediately ahead of delivery to let you know and that sadly the base you purchased was the last one in stock. As a result, we offered an alternative or a full refund.

We provided alternative products, solutions and consulted with you if you’d like to swap the base/ product or fabric or choose a refund. We communicated with you along the way, as did you too.

Once you decided the options available, you chose delivery of 30/5.

We’re sorry that the instructions were not included and we emailed these across on Thursday and Friday, immediately after you spoke to a member of our team. We've also escalated this to our production team to know why they were not included.

Our team have spoken to you across the weekend and today and sadly you wish to return your bed which has been accepted.

If you need anymore support, please contact our team through the various channels we have available.

Great quality, poor instructions

On the fence on whether to give this three or four stars, I think giving three would be quite harsh considering now the bed is up, it’s excellent quality and super comfortable. Process of designing and selecting the bed online is a very good function, and I appreciate it shows an example of each scenario.

If you’d asked me this while we were trying to assemble it however, I think I would have given one star. Unclear instructions and super grainy images with a very smug man putting it up with ease in the accompanying video. Felt like the bed took a lot longer to put up than it should have, if only the instructions weren’t fuzzy photocopies.

On the bright side though, ordered on a Saturday, received on a Tuesday and took advantage of some very good offers on site.

Lovely bed, shame about the delivery and service...

Let me start by saying that after we finally received the bed, it is absolutely lovely, however the whole ordering/delivery experienced was a shambles from start to finish.

We were moving into a new house, so decided to treat ourselves to a Yark bed, as we could design it and choose a delivery date directly after we moved in. We ordered the super king oatmeal ottoman bed for delivery on the 29th April, the day after we moved in. On the 27th, I had still not had delivery confirmed, so I got in touch to double check everything was going to plan. Turns out that couldn't be further from the truth, as I received an email to say that they had tried to contact me previously and that the bed was out of stock and they were not expecting any more. This cannot be true as I didn't recieve an email or call from them since my order confirmation.

Apparently a 'glitch' on their website allowed me to order this bed in error, however it seemed to still be available to order a few weeks later, which is very odd. We were asked if we would accept another bed, however it would need to be a 4 drawer base. We accepted this offer in the oatmeal colour. We then got another call to say this one was now not available and we could have it in light grey instead and they would offer a £60 refund. We noticed that the bed was £100 cheaper online so said we would accept this if the full £100 was refunded. Yark agreed and once again we were set for delivery on the 29th.

29th April came and we recieved a call from Arrow XL the delivery company. The bed had been delivered to them damaged and they were refusing to deliver and Yark would be in touch with more detail. I immediately contacted them and was told this could not be the case but they would investigate. We needed to wait for the items to be redelivered back to the warehouse then they would rearrange delivery. Another delivery date was set and we eagerly awaited our bed, as we had been sleeping on a mattress on the floor. The day before delivery arrived and again there was an issue with the bed being damaged. This time Yark were blaming Arrow XL and we were advised we would have an update within 24h as to when we could expect our bed. No work after 24h so once again I emailed to find out what was happening. Yark apologised and advised they would sort delivery and offer a 'significant discount' on our order which would arrive within 3-5 working days.

Delivery happened unannounced at 7am on Saturday 7th May. The instructions provided to put the bed together were dreadful, so we had to make some strategic guesses but overall we were very pleased with the bed.

5 working days passed an no refund was processed. After contacting them, they refunded £100, which was the difference in the cost of the replacement bed. No sign of the discount promised so I asked and was refunded a further £100.

As I've said, the final product was lovely, but the entire experience was awful and I would not advise anyone to order from Yark for this reason. They seem to use templates for their email responses, which are full jokes, something that isn't really appreciated when the customer service is so bad. Yes you did 'drop a clanger', but I would really have rather you took the situation seriously.

As the item you exchanged to was £100 cheaper we provided a refund for the difference plus a further discount due to the delay and issue you experienced. We agree, the service wasn’t acceptable especially when you’re moving home and all the stress that goes with that.

Our team quickly provided both refunds and we’re sorry that your experience with Yark wasn’t upto scratch.

Along this process, our customer service manager communicated to you, kept you updated in both emails and calls. It’s our priority to make sure that if something has gone wrong, that we put it right.

I was a little dubious about purchasing the double bed for my daughter without seeing it beforehand. I needn’t have worried, it’s fabulous. The bed is of great quality and it is perfect for what we need. We purchased the ottoman bed and it’s sturdy and easy to use. My husband had no problems putting the bed together with the email of instructions sent. We’ve had beds from Next before which have cost £300 more and I honestly think the Yark bed is equally as good. I’d highly recommend to friends .

Very disappointing experience.

I bought a bed in the Yark sale over a week ago and then received a call late on Friday afternoon before the bed was due to be delivered today, Monday that it had been discontinued and there were no drawers available in the fabric I had purchased, so I had to choose an alternative finish. The alternative bed arrived today, Monday as scheduled, but with every single drawer broken. It actually looks quite dangerous as the nails holding the bottom panel in place are really sharp and sticking out. There are also some essential screws missing that hold the headboard to the frame, so we simply can't build it. We've checked and double checked, but they haven't arrived. Most frustratingly of all - there's no phone number to call! Absolutely infuriating. Needless to say, we are very disappointed and would not recommend.

Latest update: 16th June. Here we are still waiting for the broken drawers we received to be collected. I have been given multiple dates for collection and it's never happened, finally collection was booked in today and they didn't turn up. I arranged to be in for the collection - I waited in all day and was told I would receive a phone call 30 mins before the drivers arrived - I didn't receive anything and the drivers didn't turn up, so here we are a month on still with a big box of broken drawers in our hallway.

I would NEVER recommend Yark or use them again - the process has been a disaster from start to finish (including the responses below, which are inaccurate!). Dreadful, irresponsible company. You still can't call them, there's no customer service number and when they call you it's with a no caller ID number, which to me says it all.

Very poor quality bed- slates Break…

Very poor quality bed- slates Break easily . Screws from piston comes off easily- this impacting the usage of the bed. We ordered king size bed and have a king size mattress- however, big massive gap which is not very pleasant.
However, the only thing I like and was very impressive by was the customer service- excellent customer service.

Amazing customer service!

Amazing customer service and the quality is exceptional! Really happy I decided to go with Yark for my first big bed purchase as the quality was even better then expected. The delivery came faster then most bed furniture companies and assembly was quite easy. Definitely recommend if your looking for quality for a great price!

Hit and miss

I’ve had this bed for nearly 10 months now and it is a lovely bed, I wanted to pay that bit more for a good bed. But since having it, 2 of the slats have broken and I’m not sure if it is due to my weight but I’ve stood on the bed quite a few times to clean the headboard and nothing happened then.
A little disappointed because of how much it cost. Maybe it’s not recommended for plus size people.

Don’t order a bed from this company as…

Don’t order a bed from this company as they’ll let you pay in full and 3 days before delivery suddenly the stock will be ‘damaged’. Not a coincidence at all when items have been out of stock for ages. Worst bit is I checked that everything was ok with order and was advised I didn’t need to worry. I was then offered to pick another design… yet the don’t even have the colour I ordered in stock. Reading other reviews I think they’ve done me a favour! AVOID!

Yarks reply to this review… ‘Our team informed you that the item was out of stock’. Another lie, they told me the item was damaged in transit! Still waiting for proof of this that I’ll never get!

Bed is great quality but instructions are a bit rubbish

I bought an ottoman bed, it arrived very quickly and is very good quality for the price. I would give them 5 stars but the printed instructions were pretty bad and although they have a YouTube video to build the bed it doesn't explain what all the parts are for and contradicts the paper instructions at times.

Absolutely beautiful bed

Absolutely beautiful bed! Really well made!
Really sturdy! Really happy!
Only thing stopping this being a 5* review would be that I am single living alone and asked if the delivery men would mind just getting it to the top of the stairs for me and was told no I’ll be fine by myself. 2 hours later and an almost dislocated shoulder managed to get the headboard up the stairs. When it would of taken two minutes for someone to help.

Nice bed, poor customer service

Very odd experience with Yark - not sure I would recommend them to a friend.

Ordering of the bed itself was hard work - it advertised everywhere that delivery was available in 48hours when it must have only been available that quickly for a small number of beds and nothing in a Kingsize - found it misleading and fedback to the customer services. The Yark team did however manage to track down the last in stock bed and I managed to order it at the date which suited me.

Bed arrived on the date I had booked and we had notice the day before from the courier. We started putting it together and realised we had been given the wrong sides and as such the joins we had been provided wouldn't fit, first of all customer services came back to us and said it was our fault which it clearly wasn't, I then replied to that rude message letting them know it wasn't the case, they gave us a workaround and adjusted instructions which contardicted the original instructions we had about which joins were important for bed stability etc... Anyway, managed to fudge it and put the bed together. Then we put together the drawers and 2 of the 4 were broken, emailed again eventually they replied and arranged for more to be sent out. These were again damaged but we managed to fix them, I fedback that they were again broken so should let the production team know there may be an issue, I received a very defensive reply saying it probably was the delivery drivers fault.. Based on how securely they were packed and the type of damage I don't believe that to be the case.
Yark did kindly refund me part of the bed value after all of the issues we had, however it did take a few attempts to come through and then I've just had a message asking what we're going to spend it our refund on? The most odd message I've ever received from a retailer in all my experience of online shopping, I presume it was a joke but it was so strange and the wrong tone of voice.
In summary - bed is nice and pleased with how it looks but I do not rate Yark customer service, they were slow to reply, very defencive and didn't really ever take responsibility for any of the issues.
Having read other replies to TP reviews which are critical of Yark, I recognise the same tone so fully expect to receive a sarastic reply to my review.

Will recommend

The bed was easy to order and came very quickly, the deliver arrived on time and the drivers where quick and efficient. Putting the bed together was ok, it would be helpful if the screws where numbered and separated and in one box but I do understand why it's not, the instructions that come with is terrible but they do send you a video of the bed being assembled and that helps alot. The one thing I will say about the video is that sometimes it's hard to see which way somthing goes so you have to kinda guess or watch it over and over. Overall will recommend, I'm in love with my bed.

Awful instructions!!

The bed is gorgeous, however it took a whole day and 3 people to make due to the horrendous instructions! The paper version isn't worth the waste of trees to print it. The video is better except it's not in a logical order! We put the frame together then had to take part of it apart to add the feet. Same happened with the boards for the storage section. Honestly they are utterly useless.
