Just stayed in Edinburgh hotel

Just stayed in Edinburgh hotel - hated the whole experience! The rooms feel like you are staying in hospital - far too clinical and sterile! We paid extra for breakfast on our last morning and then refused entry to the dining area as they said we hadn’t paid, even though we showed proof of payment??!!

Do not leave anything behind when you check out.

Stayed at yotel Glasgow for four nights in July.10 minutes after checking out and had just boarded a bus to Perth i realised i had left my hearing aids next to the bed.I phoned the hotel and they said they would check. They called 10 minutes later to tell me the cleaner found nothing???????Was it too much to ask for a member of staff to go & check after i explained in detail exactly where i left them.Spoiled the stay and will not return.

Yotel san francisco

Yotel san francisco
I would never stay Thérèse again. Rooms are very small, beds are too short.
Our leggs were hanging out.
In the neighbourhood there are many homeless people who urinate and take drugs on street. The children and I were scared.
We had Two rooms and to pay 150 dollar per room extra.
Never will I go back.

First and last time

This is my first experience of Yotel. It was in central London and cost my company £235 for one night. Although the hotel is clean and plays on its’funky’ image it was probably the worst hotel I have stayed in around the world nowhere to sit, no kettle or fresh water. A minute toilet and shower. Completely impractical, cramped and uncomfortable and very expensive. Avoid at all costs. All the staff were very nice and helpful. Colleagues staying at the same hotel had exactly the same experience

Plastic rooms, cold and unwelcoming.

Wow, where to start. We paid £303 for a Saturday night stay in Edinburgh. Yotel - the name alone should have sent alarm bells ringing. When you walk into the Yotel it feels like a Student accommodation block. Dark, unwelcoming, self service check in. The room was plastic fantastic. Everything that could be plastic was. The strange hospital bed that can be moved to the sitting position ( to save money on actual chairs) presumably to save space in what is a tiny space. The toilet and shower are separate and in the room so steam, smells, noises can be shared. The toilet door didn't lock but since you can see and hear why should that matter. The blinds didn't work so the tiny space was in darkness. The conditioner was left bone dry empty. The shower, because the door didn't close properly, leaked water everywhere. We used the bathmat and towels to dry it, the bathmat was changed but not the towels. Finally, and this is a strange one, no kettles in the room - why? Because it's not in Yotel's DNA to have kettles. What this means in real life is that this plastic fantastic little box room is so small, there isn't room for a kettle, unless it was hanging off the wall. Utterly appalling. Never again.

Exceptional service

Yo pod was comfortable, comfortable bed for sound sleep and power shower pleasantly invigorating at 5am in the morning. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Huge huge thanks to Fesos and Aimee for retrieving my tablet which fell inside the retractable bed. I thought it was lost for good as it was stuck but they quickly dismantled the bed and managed to wedge it out. Thanks both will definitely return and will remember not to balance my iPad so precariously!!

Yotel Fire Alarm 5 May

Yotel - New York Times Sq Fire Alarm 5 th May - Just had a fire alarm at the hotel (Luckily false alarm) - be aware though - Management had NO idea what to do - there was NO IDENTIFIABLE VISIBLE (Tabard etc) Fire Officer in charge, absolute APPALLING. An employee in a black T shirt could be heard saying "The lifts dont work" NYFD need to have a STIFF chat with Hotel Management to get there act together - COMMAND CONTROL COMMUNICATION before a major incident occurs - if you value your life and go to the Yotel make sure you are on the ground floor !

Stayed at Shoreditch yotel for just one…

Stayed at Shoreditch yotel for just one night costing £150 . We had two rooms booked , total cost £300:00 . We arrived and checked in slightly before 15:00 check in time . We were advised our rooms were ready , thinking, great , as we had had a long journey, we were then told it would cost £40 early check in .. we refused to pay this .. and patiently waited.
An hour or so later, when we got into the room, we soon realised for our £150 per night we didn’t even get tea and coffee !
We went to reception and told if we wanted a hot drink it would be £2:50 per cup , and small cups they were .
Reluctantly we had it to pay !
I would like yotel to consider, that even if you are staying at His Majesty’s Pleasure’. You are given tea and coffee making facilities in you cell ! As part of your basic human rights. !
On inspection of the bedding in one of the rooms , it was found that the fitted sheet and pillow cases had blood on them .
My Son went to reception and it took over 30 minutes for them to find someone with access to the store cupboard to get fresh bedding . He was then given this bedding to re dress the bed ! He said ‘no’ I want someone to attend to this for us.
At no point were he or his partner offered a complimentary hot drink while they waited ! Never mind an apology or goodwill gesture of partial refund for the inconvenience.
The staff did not really seem that interested, or in any rush to sort this out .
On the whole it was ok , but yotel should supply tea and coffee .. not charging £2:50 per cup when you have paid £150:00 for the room .
Shameful really , Yotel!

Absolute Scam

The price they advertise on their website is a scam. Plain and simple. Scam. They give you the total and you agree to pay. When you check in the total is an additional $40 a night. They don’t tell you this upon check in. I found out when I checked my credit card balance. I asked the girl at the front desk. She told me it is the “facility fee.” I asked why this wasn’t disclosed on my total when I agreed to pay. This was literally her answer.
“The facility fees don’t appear when you agree to pay because you haven’t used the facilities yet. We don’t charge you for something you haven’t used yet.”
I hadn’t used the room yet either but they gave me a price for that. I was led to believe the price I agreed to pay WAS the “Out the door” price.
This fee is the exact same as a resort fee except REPUTABLE hotels disclose resort fees.
I’m challenging the charges with my credit card company.

STAY AWAY

YOTEL Singapore, Orchard Road
WORST experience ever. Imagine staying in a room the size of a broom closet with the bathroom connected and only a glass wall between which does not reach floor to ceiling. There’s is NO ventilation at all. So, 3 people taking a shower and one doing number 2 on the toilet afterwards. How do you think the room is like to sleep in? Had to open the door to the hallway to breathe. Staff: too bad, mam. Nothing I can do. I’m just happy my asthma is well medicated.

Firstly if your gonna crow about your customer service and you have a WhatsApp sticker in every room , if a guest uses it to contact you answer or take the darn stickers down else you look disingenuous . So pod so pants , not the best of ideas to have an extractor fan right behind the headboard of the bed running 24/7 as the pod bathroom acts as an attenuator , also not great to have the flashing red light of the smoke alarm above the pillows on the bed. Overall form against function hands down you win , and platitudes versus customer service you win again , else stick to the McDonald’s version of sushi as your hotel has a long way to go to give a decent nights rest to Mr average .

Our whole floor smelt like weed the entire time we stayed here. While we were staying there housekeeping took a blanket that was on the bed. When we asked were it went we were not helped very well, and told it was mistaked for sheets. This would not have made sense why they would have changed our sheets on a random day and taken Our blanket that was on the bed?

Stayed in YOTEL Edinburgh

Stayed in YOTEL Edinburgh, my room was lovely and big. It was the perfect temperature and really clean. The bed was really comfy.
Had a cocktail in the bar downstairs which was lovely and also visited the gym.
Reception staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. Would stay again.

Yotel Shoreditch

When staying at the Yotel Shoreditch, double check if the door to your room is working. We've discovered that our room didn't actually lock, so anyone could've waltzed in during the day or even when we were at sleep at night.

Raised the issue with staff, who promised an immediate repair, so we left our belongings in the room for the day. When we returned in the evening, the lock was still not repaired and a different member of staff shared that no maintenance ticket had been raised.

Customer service continues to ignore requests for a refund...

Ps. the Yotel Shoreditch is not in Shoreditch, but in Bethnal Green.

Stayed at Yotel Shoreditch.

Stayed at Yotel Shoreditch.
The hotel charged us twice for our stay, tried to tell me that the first charge was a hold and hadn’t left my account - then when I proved with my bank statement that it had, told me there was nothing they could do except leave a message for the booking team, promising me I would be refunded the next working day.
I still have no refund and this happened a week ago tomorrow. My emails are being ignored. At this point they have straight up stolen our money.

Awful housekeeping manager and…

Awful housekeeping manager and supervisors, so abusive, discriminative, and they never hear workers problem ( specially the manager called “Aga” )
The hotel itself is a great place, the girls working there as well, manager Aga has her favourites group of people which are” polish” All of them and they are cover for her. The rest of them are Latin girls who do not speak English and for that reason those supervisors and the manager abuse them with plenty of work and her people are always smoking and doing absolutely nothing outside.
