It works well
It works well. It would be nice if UPS came on the day they said they would (day late) but I like the concept of the zero-waste and the sense that I am paying closer to the true cost of consumption.

Amazing but clunky website
The recycling box itself is a fantastic resource for our opticians. Depositing it when full is easy, as we happen to be right next to a drop off point, and new boxes come swiftly when they have been ordered.
However, the web service is clunky. We repeatedly applied for a box with nothing showing up. After emailing support it still took a long time for anything to move, but we did get there in the end. Teething problems happen, and I would expect our experience is not indicative of the business.

Great to be able to recycle dental waste
We love being able to offer our patients the opportunity to recycle their dental hygiene waste, as this is a major contributor to single use plastic. Zero Waste boxes are easy to use and efficiently delivered and collected.

My First Full Zero Waste Box!
This was the first time I have used Terra Cycle and the first time I have filled a Zero Waste Box. The whole process could not have been easier or more efficient. I have wanted to recycle old storage media for a long time, and definitely did not want to fill up landfill with these things. Terracycle and the Zero Waste Box was the brilliant solution to my problem.

We've been part of the Acuvue recycling…
We've been part of the Acuvue recycling programme for many years and collect thousands of contact lenses, foil and vials that would have otherwise ended in landfill. Now we're being charged to participate in the programme. I find that ludicrous.

Changes have been made to ensure Acuvue's longevity and to actually increase the volume of contact lenses, blister packs and foils that can be recycled in the UK by up to 25%. Acuvue has funded the cost of thousands of Zero Waste Boxes which have been made available to opticians at a considerable discount.

Zero waste box renewal
We have a log in set up for us to order the zero waste boxes, when asking to reset our password it proved quite difficult as i was never sent a link, a member of you online team had to send me a link ( they were very prompt in their response) in order for us to order a box.
I am still unable to login as our password doesn't work and I cant reset it.

I love what you do and think it’s run so smoothly but is there any way of making it cheaper? A lot of people are both financially and time poor right now, and it would make a real difference to take up if you could reduce the price.

We couldn't agree more with what you're saying but unfortunately in the world today, recycling the ‘unrecyclable’ is expensive - that is why these items are deemed unrecyclable by your local council. The price of the Zero Waste Box covers storage, handling, cleaning and rigorous and bespoke processing. Certain niche waste streams require specific processing machines and cleaning equipment to ensure they are properly recycled, others must go through more than one processing facility to be recycled.
Earlier this year, we have been able to make price decreases on certain boxes, for instance our ZWB for Plastic Packaging has seen a significant decrease in price. We continuously review our prices and aim to make our boxes more affordable for everyone as certain waste streams have become less complex to recycle over the years.

All-In-One box
I have just received my All-In-One box. As I live on my own and already trying to reduce waste it takes quite some time to fill the box up. However being able to recycle so many different types of items that are not usually recycled has been worth it and the box fits neatly under my kitchen counter.

Johnson & Johnson Vision is continuing to support and fund the ACUVUE Contact Lens Recycle Programme. Changes have been made to ensure its longevity and to actually increase the volume of contact lenses, blister packs and foils that can be recycled in the UK by up to 25%. With the changes in place contact lens recycling is now being offered in every Boots opticians across the country as well as numerous independent stores.
While we appreciate there have been changes in this recycling scheme, this redesign aims at offering the opportunity for more opticians to join the programme, as well as offering a more convenient waste management.

I'm very sorry to hear your box hasn't arrived yet. I have checked its whereabouts - there have been 3 unsuccessful delivery attempts from 23/07 - 27/07. After the final attempt, UPS sent the box back to our fulfillment agency. I will email you separately to confirm your delivery address and to send you a new box.

Although this seems an expensive service, delivery and collection is incredibly quick and there seems to be a box for everything. I use the all-in-one waste box or beverage capsule box (varying sizes) as most of our unrecyclable waste is my partner's coffee pod discs.
