Speedy delivery

Speedy delivery - box delivered undamaged. Box itself is exactly as described and is a great way to capture plastics for my household.

Useless UPS

The boxes were all delivered quickly and fairly easy to fill although a clearer definition of what could go in would be welcome.
Getting boxes collected was much more uncertain. UPS didn't communicate when to expect them or notify when delivered.

Hi Anne,

Thank you very much for your message and for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you experienced a lack of information on the accepted waste list and from UPS. We continuously want to improve our processes and take feedback from our customers seriously.

We do have more in-depth waste lists on our online product pages. If anything is unclear going forward, just type your box in the search bar on our website: https://zerowasteboxes.terracycle.co.uk/ to receive more detailed descriptions on what we accept. Of course you can always message us on the live chat if you have any specific questions, our colleagues aim to respond immediately every work day from 9-5.30.

UPS should always notify the customer when delivering a Zero Waste Box; we will get in touch with them and investigate why this hasn't happened. For any future collections, the online process is very simple and quick. I am happy to send you our ZWB User Guide, just send over a quick email to customersupport@terracycle.co.uk

Thanks a lot and have a wonderful evening - The Zero Waste Box team

I find Terracycle really useful

I find Terracycle really useful. And it takes a weight off my mind to know that my waste is being dealt with as responsibly as possible at the moment. I am aware that it is quite expensive and is actually beyond the reach of some people individually- we can share the cost with friends however.

Great service, fantastic product!

I've had my eye on this for a while but felt that it was quite expensive, so I was really pleased when I heard about the Earth Day offer. I ordered the smallest ZERO BOX box which arrived promptly. The website is super easy to use and I was happy with the communications.

Hi Anon,

I am sorry to hear our services didn't exceed your expectations.
We take the feedback of our collectors seriously. As part of the Acuvue process, you can only order one box at a time. We have emailed you with further information about this process + how to receive your next boxes.

Please, contact us back if you have any other questions.

Best wishes - The Zero Waste Box team

Thank you for your feedback, we completely agree with you and are currently working on an alternative solution.

We use plastic mailing bags to protect boxes from bad weather conditions and to apply shipping labels on the outside of the package. We will recycle the plastic mailing bag if you place it inside your Zero Waste Box. Our team is currently working on a more sustainable solution; a reusable outer case made of textile and recycled plastic, which can either be sent back to us or reused as a textile bag.

We will update our customers when we launch this new solution!

Thanks - The Zero Waste Box team

Only in it for the money?!

Claims to offer recycling services for all, yet wont take packages (of recycling) from individuals !
Charging hundreds of £s for a large cardboard box !!!
Not ethical, i feel they're just in for the £££!!!

Hi Cher,

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you say we're in it for the money, because that's not at all the case. Zero Waste Boxes are pricey because we're recycling waste streams that are not typically accepted by traditional municipal recycling programs / local authorities. We wish this wasn't the way the world worked, but unfortunately it's still expensive to recycle items that usually aren't recyclable! It can take up to 6 months to fill up a large box and if you cut up your packaging before adding it to the box, you'll free up some space!

The price of the box includes the processing and recycling of all the materials, turning it into new products like playgrounds and athletic fields. You can read more about how we recycle here: https://zerowasteboxes.terracycle.co.uk/pages/how-we-recycle-1

I'm not sure I understand 'packages of recycling', but we do accept almost every type of waste. By partnering with retailers and manufacturers from around the world, TerraCycle also offers free drop-off recycling schemes for certain types of waste, which might be a better solution for you if you're looking for a cheaper option. You can find more information here: https://www.terracycle.com/en-GB

Terracycle is the answer to my prayers…

Terracycle is the answer to my prayers ( and recycling worries)
I got my first one (plastic packaging) in November and I have filled it brimful and it has lasted until early March. It is worth every penny. My regular recycling bin has been free of plastics. Film, unnecessary plastic bags and wrapping and food packaging all go into the Terracycle box. I cut the plastic food containers up so they take up far less space in the box. How I wish food didn’t come so packaged.
Terracycle are doing such a brilliant job. I’d like to get another box for other items but need to have a think about which one.
I keep the box in my kitchen or if friends come round, put it under the stairs. However if I leave it out, people do ask me about it so I hope they might get one too. Thank you Terracycle.

Anna, thank you for your kind words and thank you for recycling with us!

We're very happy to hear that you enjoy using our recycling service. Cutting up plastics food containers to add more space to the box is a great tip! If you can't decide on a next box, the All In One box accepts almost everything, so this is always a good choice.

If you have any recycling questions at all, don't hesitate to ping an email to customersupport@terracycle.co.uk

We filled a small box within 4 weeks

We filled a small box within 4 weeks, which shows how much plastic is used, and there is only two of us plus the pets. At £108 it is far too expensive to be sustainable for us to be able to do this all the time

Good morning,

Thank you for your feedback and for recycling with us! For me, it has been eye-opening to see how much plastic we all use on a day-to-day basis by filling up a Zero Waste Box.

Unfortunately, the boxes are on the pricier side because we're recycling waste streams that are not typically accepted by traditional municipal recycling programs. The price of the box includes the processing and recycling of all the materials, turning it into new products such as flooring tiles, playgrounds and athletic fields.

TerraCycle does also offer free drop-off recycling schemes for certain types of plastic waste. You can find more information here: https://www.terracycle.com/en-GB

Hi, thanks a lot for your response!

We are happy to hear about your prompt box delivery!

The Zero Waste Boxes are thick cardboard boxes which come with a plastic liner inside for impermeability. As long as you don't overfill the box (for a large box the maximum weight should be between 25-30kg and no more than that), the box should withstand. Of course, when full don't forget to seal the box shut with adhesive tape.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to drop an email at customersupport@terracycle.co.uk

Have a lovely weekend - The Zero Waste Box team.

Huge bag of blister packs, this company do not care enough to help me.

I've amassed a huge binbag full of blister packs. I've been asking for months where to send them, having no Superdrug store here in York, & having absolutely zero ways of travelling to another city, noone else can help me either, before you ask.The only response I receive every single time is to look at the FAQs, which lead me to the same list of Superdrugs in the country. I need to parcel these up & post them to you. Why can no one be civil enough to assist? Rubbish service from a "Caring"company, whose ethos is to help The Planet ! Mine too, I'm not putting them into landfill.

Dear Jacqueline,

Thanks for sharing your feedback and we apologise for your experience so far.
Blister packs are made from a complex mix of materials which means they can’t be recycled by your local councils and so currently, the Medicine Packet Recycling Programme sponsored by Superdrug is the only nationwide recycling solution in place, currently available in 200 Superdrug stores.

While we hope to be able to add more locations to the programme in the future, for now, you will need to visit one of the participating Superdrug pharmacies to be able to recycle your blister packs. If this is not a trip you'd usually make, we would advise saving your waste until you travel to the area for another reason.

I have also reviewed your communication with our TerraCycle Customer Care team and can see that the email which you sent on Friday evening has been responded to by our Customer Care Advisor Lily, with a number of options as well as a full explanation of how our free programme works. We have asked Lily to resend her response in case this has not reached you.

Please note, the FAQ answers are provided as additional support, and do not dismiss your ticket unless you select that the article has helped with your question.

Please feel free to contact our Customer Care team for extra support at customersupport@terracycle.co.uk

Best wishes - The Zero Waste Box team.

Range of items recycled excellent

Being able to put wide variety of items in a box excellent - some confusion over blister packs which I had to check. The visual on your website was unclear.
