ACwholesalers worst service and warranty

I ordered a 55,000 BTU air conditioning and heat pump system from AC Wholesalers on March 30, not because they were the cheapest, but because I was hoping for a quality product. Unfortunately, this decision was a huge mistake. The unit, which is supposed to accommodate five heads, was delivered in early April and professionally installed shortly after. But after installation, nothing worked.
I contacted AC Wholesalers right away, and they redirected me to their warranty department. After a long wait, in June, I was told I needed a new pump and a board, and that I would need to provide pictures and work with a professional installer (which I had already done). The parts arrived in early July, and I paid an additional $1,650 for installation or service. Sadly, the unit still didn’t work.
I reached out again to their technical support team, requesting another board, and—no surprise—got no response. I followed up on July 15, and still... nothing. Fast forward to August 15, and after another call to AC Wholesalers, they said they’d “look into the matter.” It’s now been months, and I still have no air conditioning in my home in Idaho.
Bottom line: AC Wholesalers is a company that will leave you high and dry when things go wrong. There’s nothing “wholesale” about their pricing or service. The money I thought I’d save by buying online has been wiped out by the hundreds of dollars I’ve spent on parts, service, and my time. The frustration, wasted money, and lack of accountability has made this an incredibly costly and stressful experience.
My advice: hire a professional HVAC company instead. Let them provide the parts and handle the service, so they’re responsible if anything goes wrong. AC Wholesalers' terrible customer service and unreliable products are not worth the savings. If they don’t resolve my issue soon, I’ll be forced to take legal action. This has been a nightmare.

Beware of this company.

Ordered condensate pumps June 8th 2025. Received notification that the shipping date had been bumped back to June 19th, then on June 19th I got another notification that shipping had been bumped back to June 27th due to manufacturing delays. June 23rd I found a local source for the pumps and bought them, called AC Wholesalers customer service to request a refund and they said the pumps had shipped from Texas (I live in NC) on that date so they could not issue a refund. I did not receive a shipping notification or tracking information. July 3rd still had not received the pumps, contacted their customer service line to cancel the order and they said they were "looking into it". They would not just cancel the order. Since my card had not been charged (thus indicating the pumps were not shipped as I was told) I ended up putting a freeze on the card so they couldn't try to slide it through. Take your business elsewhere. These folks are shysters.

BEWARE

BEWARE. Very poor experience. Will not stand behind products delivered. Chose delivery company that no-showed me twice, then dropped my furnace on the end of my driveway. Found out later it was damaged and they will not work with me to replace damaged parts.

Would leave 0 stars if possible

Would leave 0 stars if possible! Purchased part online at 6am to make sure it could be processed and delivered to me asap, paid for next day shipping. They created label and did not attempt to ship part until after it was supposed to arrive.

Doubt they would have shipped at all if I had not called to complain the shipping was not what they said they could provide. Won’t receive part until Monday, wish I could slap them with pain & suffering fees from listening to family complain about no ac in house……

LG 2-zone heat pump

I ordered an LG 2-zone heat pump, 2 heads and all accessories (pipes, wires, disconnect switch, etc.) and everything arrived 1 day early. I know others have had issues with these folks but my experience was perfect. Good prices, quality product arrived early with zero damage or issues.

I had to return some items and they…

I had to return some items and they refund less than the purchase price I paid, and then deducted more as a portion of the so called free delivery. When I called to inquire, I had to ask 5 times to speak to a manager and was told the manager wouldn't speak to me. And then the gal just repeating the same lie over and over again until I hung up. Horrible company and horrible people.

BEWARE A very dishonest company

BEWARE A very dishonest company! I would go to Lowe's or Home Depot before I ever dealt with this company. again! They don't honor their cancellation policy! Called within 20 mins of order to cancel due to it being the wrong size, 7 hrs later they shipped product and charged 500.00 for shipping on a unit I never received. Then, they won't provide receipts to back up their claim, instead they accuse customer of wrong reasons for canceling. Just deal with your local dealer, this company should be put out of business!

We canceled our order right

We canceled our order right? GUESS WHAT!!! They still sent it, and now we are supposed to pay to have it shipped back when it was their fault that it was not canceled or the rep didn't cancel. PLUS, they keep taking money out of our account, went by the bank today and put a stop on it plus the bank will see that we get our money back because we have proof that everything was canceled!!! The rep didn't know what they were talking about and we found out that everything on the order was completely wrong, PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!! They lie and steal your money, do NOT give them your bank info. Plus if any more money is charged, they will be hit with I believe our lawyer said larceny charges maybe.

BEWARE

BEWARE. I purchased a mini split from AC wholesalers. After a professional HVAC company installed the unit, the unit quickly tripped the main breaker and the main board was burned in the process. The mini split had a internal wiring issue which caused the main board to burn up in the unit. AC Wholesalers said they would not refund the money for the condenser since the system was already installed. The issue could never have been determined had the unit not been installed. BEWARE.

Problems from the start. Only getting worse.

I bought a Mitsubishi mini split heat pump from them 5 years ago. It came with a bad control board.

After multiple service calls they replaced the board. It was also bad. After more calls they sent a second new board. After more service calls and expense and we got it working.

Fast forward, 5 years the system failed with multiple leaks. Supposedly I have a 10 year warranty. I contacted Mitsubishi. They said to contact the supplier to get the part. I contacted ACWholesalers and a day later they said we had to get the Manufacturer to supply a part number and ticket number to get the part.

We attempted to do just that. Mitsubishi kept the technician on the phone for three hours and now they want the be paid for the part before they will authorize the shipment. (supposedly to be refunded later)

So far this unit has cost me at least 6 service calls and looks to be junk. Even if I get the the part I will still have to pay to get the system rebuilt. Who knows how long it will last.

I’ve ordered from this company a few…

I’ve ordered from this company a few times in the past and never had an issue with the products or service, until this last time. I ordered two PTAC units with the respective sleeve kits and electrical kit for a remodel
project. Due to the timeline of the project, I really only needed the sleeves to install, however, i figured i would buy the PTAC units at the same time to have on hand. One unit installed perfectly, and works great. I opened up a sealed packed to discover the other unit had a different plug,
meaning a different voltage(265V) requirement, and could not be used. I’m very careful when i order anything, so i was shocked to discover this mistake. I looked up my invoice and there is nothing on my receipt, order confirmation nor even the box the unit came in specifies the voltage selected. In hindsight, i should have opened the unit up, but they arrived in good condition, the model number matched, and wanted to leave them strapped as this kept it secure until was ready months later to install it months later, assumed i was good.
I then mocked up the same order on their website, and it didn’t even specified the voltage selecting in the shopping cart! How can anyone review their order for accuracy when the checkout doesn’t even list specifics? Don’t believe me? look for yourself. I had no way to see who’s responsible error it was since nothing is specified in my receipt, of course they said it was my fault. Also, why didn’t someone at the warehouse noticed that i ordered two 230v electrical kits, but a random different voltage for one of the units? Sounds like this company sells a product in an industry that they have little knowledge or experience. After reading other reviews, it seems this issue is the same, people can’t verify their selections at checkout for details such as nat. gas or propane, 230v or 265v, and other specifics. It was 7 months later when the error was discovered and was i willing to cut my losses with some restocking fee and shipping. I figured any reasonable company would understand how the issue happened and agree to return this just opened unit with fees including the purchase of a correct unit, nope. Shockingly, they refused any compromise and didn’t care about losing a potential repeat customer either. I probably wasted more time writing this, as they wont see it, and if your reading this, it’s probably too late for you. I’m not saying not to order from them, just understand the risks and flaws with their website and checkout, and just hope you don’t have to deal with customer service.

they don't stand up to valid warranty claims

trying to have a confirmed warranty claim filled for honeywell UV lights that malfunctioned. First they told me I had to file the claim with Honeywell. Honeywell (aka Resideo) told me the responsibility was ACwholesalers. On next call ACW did confirm the $545.80 claim was their responsibility and they would be back in contact with information on a date and time the units would be picked up by their carrier. Don't know why they just don't provide a prepaid mailing label. So after a week with no follow up by them I sent an email and waited 4 days with no reply. BTW each time you call. the wait time is +20 minutes. Now I am on hold again trying to speak with them again. Do not shop with them.

Nightmare on Kold Street

Dealing with this company was an absolute nightmare. Great deals? Yes. Any semblance of communication, either internal or external? Nope. What makes this extra sad is that I honestly believe some of their employees genuinely wanted to help me, but due to more dropped balls than a Chuck-E-Cheese in a sinkhole, they couldn't. So here's my story.

I purchased an AC online mid-July because mine died a brutal, frosty death. The order gave the me ship date and I went about my business, sweaty but confident a very nice air conditioner would soon be showing up. A Koldfront 800btu to be precise. According to the internet, a top rated beauty with the capability to turn a sauna in hell into a meat locker. My kind of appliance. Anyway, I went along my merry way right up until the ship date. I logged in to check the status like a kid on Christmas eagerly peeking out the window to see if I could catch of glimpse of AC Santa, but was met with disappointment. My status said, "Processing."

At that point, I was alarmed. Late July in the middle of a heat wave is a terrible time to try to buy an AC and I had already dealt with the heat for far too long. I contacted the company and spoke to a very nice lady who genuinely wanted to help me. Turned out, ACWholesalers didn't actually have any Koldfront 8000s in stock, even though I had bought the item weeks prior. I politely asked her to cancel my order. She tried everything to make things right, even going so far as to transfer me to their sales department when she saw she had no power, hoping that a sales rep could find me a comparable unit that would ship out, as she didn't know when Koldfront would be getting her more 8000s.

I spoke with the sales rep and it was clear that he saw Helpful Lady's idea utterly beneath him. He ended the conversation as quickly as possible and bounced me back to Helpful Lady the second he got an opening. Not wanting to wait on Schrodinger's AC Unit, I asked for a second time that she just cancel the order. So she said she would and I thought that was the end.

Gentle reader, if that had been it, I wouldn't bother writing this. I bought a different AC from another place that is a large enough company that they don't need my free advertising and moved on with my life. In a way, literally. I moved to a new address. ACWholesalers was entirely forgotten and I busied myself with my unpacking, right up until the beginning of September. That was when I got an email from ACWholesalers saying my order had shipped. wat? I immediately contacted ACWholesalers in a bit of a panic. The original order was supposed to ship to my old address, the one I was no longer living at. I explained this to a different Helpful Lady (HL2?) and she was just as alarmed as I was. But! HL2 was on it. She said she emailed the warehouse for them to cancel the shipment, looped in her boss to review the previous phone call to figure out what went wrong, and seemed to have everything under control. She affirmed that the order was now canceled and everything was fine.

Spoiler: Everything was not fine.

I stayed on top of things this time and when I saw ACWholesalers had charged my credit card a few days later, I contacted them again. This time, their tune changed. All of a sudden, I was highly suspect. Surely I couldn't actually have tried to cancel this order three times already. It was marked as having been delivered! I explained yet again that if it was, that was a huge problem because I didn't live at the delivery address any more and there wasn't anything on my current front porch. Suddenly, they couldn't do anything and this whole mess was my fault and they needed to review all my past interactions (but somehow their internet was down and their boss couldn't pull up the audio from my phone calls?). Clearly, they had my money and there was no way I was getting it back. My only saving grace was that my landlord was understanding and helped me retrieve the AC that had, in fact, been shipped to my old address. I would love nothing more than to return this dang thing, but I have a sneaking suspicion that, if I were to ship this back, I would still never see anything close to a full refund. Shop elsewhere, friends.

UPDATE: When we opened the box for the AC unit to install it after I gave it to a friend? There was a huge dent in the underside. To absolute hell with these scam artists.

Run the other way

Ordered two units in stock when ordered. Call about shipment date.. Its in the Warehouse in Florida, next call it was in the warehouse in Illinois.. SO It finally ships... and both units are received damaged. One was actually damaged and repackaged, and damaged again. Almost two weeks, they are always going to respond via email.. nothing . We are talking $3,000.. It does not seem real important to them, that we are out the money have a build on hold or anything..
