AVOID MISLEADING cancelled next day huge cancellation charge
AVOID MISLEADING - bought breakdown cover in a hurry, received documents and realised the policy is not what I understood when i paid, phoned to cancel to be told initially £25 cancellation charge, then £15 pound ended up being charged £17.64 which seems a very strange figure and is nowhere on the policy documents I was emailed, asked to raise a complaint and was told they won't do this and I should send an email.
WARNING - Auto Renewal RIP OFF and illegal cancellation fee.
I am really very angry and upset with the way I have been treated by Autoaid. I have been a loyal customer for around 15 years. Yesterday, they auto-renewed my policy at a hugely inflated price with no explanation. I phoned today to question why and to ask them for a price reduction or negotiation.
They were very uncaring and dismissive (borderline rude) and said they offer cheaper prices to new customers on sites like Martin Lewis MSE but no discounts or negotiation for renewals. The guy was just reading from a script and going round in circles and repeating himself like he was trying to to wear me down.
Furthermore, they then said they would charge me a £15.00 'admin fee' if I cancel the policy. THIS IS NOT LEGAL or ethical business practice. I asked to be put through to a supervisor but after being kept on hold for an eternity no one was available. This is a terrible way to conduct their business.
What a disgraceful company this has become. I feel that am being ambushed for profit. It's no way to treat loyal customers like me.
They are just ripping me off and taking me for a mug and effectively preventing me from cancelling the policy. I never agreed to auto-renew in the first place.
LET THIS BE A WARNING TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES AS TO THE TYPE OF BUSINESS THEY ARE!
Terrible service!
Terrible service!
Reported a breakdown and was told an hour, after an hour and a half I was told it would be atleast another hour and even then it wasn't guaranteed.
Despite having a 4 year old with me and autoaid knowing, I had to leave my car at the side of the road and get a taxi home with my daughter.
I will be cancelling and going back to Greenflag, in this instance you really get what you pay for! Avoid this company.

It was so easy to set up the break down cover I needed for my car.
Autoaid, reliable and fast.
I've been with Autoaid a few years now. I needed to call on them once, last year, when I was broken down on a pitch black B road at 11.00pm. The guy who came out to me was very professional and polite. He fixed the car there and then in about 30 mins. We had to wait I think 45 mins for him to arrive (which is fine, there was 2 of us in the car, both blokes, no kids so we were hardly High priority). So yeah, all good, I can't see any reason why I wouldn't stay with Autoaid, price is very good for the service you receive in my opinion.
