Easy renewal and very competitive price
Good Value
The breakdown cover is good value for money. I've had to use their services on three occasions and on all three occasions they were great. Have just renewed my cover for this year. Friendly helpful staff on the telephone and the recovery people were helpful as well.
Very easy to sign up and renew
Very easy to sign up and renew. Great price for the full breakdown package. I used them this year when my coil spring snapped. Great service and really quick.
Payment declined but no reason given.
Told that my payment was declined but no reason given or information on which card was supposed to have declined it. I then followed the instructions given in this email and the payment went through with no problem at all as it should have done when AutoAid attempted to do it.
Awful app and a surprise excess charge
Been with Autoaid many years and up until now would always have rated them 5 stars and recommended them to others. But having had to use them this Bank Holiday weekend all that has changed.
When I called the breakdown number I got directed to use their app or website, instead of being able to talk to a real human being. Using the app took far longer than any phone call would have been, as it was a total faff. I'm sure there are people out there that love an app for everything, but some of us don't!
And this morning I've just been called and told I have to pay an additional £25 as my car is over 10 years old. All my cars have always been over 10 years old, and never before have I been charged extra. And what relevance is the age of a car when the cause of the breakdown are 2 flat tyres?
Auto renew has been cancelled and I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

No Reward for Loyalty
Every year AutoAid offer to renew my policy at significantly higher cost than I can take out a new one with them. This year £96.04 vs. £79.18 for exactly the same cover. So every year I have to tell them not to renew my policy and then take out a new one.

Excellent first experience of the service
After an anxious day spent with a relative in hospital, I drove away with a hunch something was not right with my car. Not wanting to risk the two-hour journey home, I completed the questions in the App before calling AutoAid.
This was the first time I had used the service. I found it straightforward and at peak time late afternoon was able to speak to someone promptly. I was quite stressed but was dealt with sensitively and given time to explain the issue.
The mechanic arrived well within the time frame given. He was thorough in checking my car and gave clear explanations about the possible issue while reassuring me that, on an MOT, this would be an 'advisory' rather than requiring immediate attention.
This gave me the confidence that I could make the two-hour journey home before having my car checked over again at my local garage.
Thank you to AutoAid staff and the mechanic for an excellent first experience of your service.
