We were on a road on the way to Etna when a tire went flat. The car didn't have a spare tire, it had a kit with glue to fix it. As the hole was very big, we called the tow truck and they told us to call a taxi that we would be refunded, because it was a Sunday in a very small village that didn't have any kind of transport and the taxi cost was 110 euros.
When I sent the invoice exactly as they asked, the refund was denied saying it was not on them.
They made me pay 110 euros, they left me without assistance in the middle of nowhere, in addition to making me lose almost the whole day waiting for the tow truck and the taxi, they were liars even with full insurance!
Never again and be aware when you take out direct insurance with them.

Autovia office is a couple of minutes walk away from Sicily airport arrivals. The car I had chosen was not available so I was upgraded to a brand new superior model. Excellent customer service at the desk. Seamless check-in and check-out.

Reserved a car in Catania airport. once we arrived, they then told us we had to have an INTERNATIONAL LICENSE which we had no idea. they said to go online. we thought it would be simple process but website would require we send in multiple legal documents that we did not have on us. AND that process would take long time before they would MAIL us license! we returned the car after it sat in driveway for a day and a half, unused. Autovia refused to refund any money, not even prorated it.
TOURIST BEWARE! I would never use this company!!

It was the second time I used Autovia and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Their service is impeccable, the car was amazing, but what made the experience outstanding was the staff at the location in Catania Airport. The 2 gentlemen that served me were super kind, professional, fast and friendly. Not only did they explain everything clearly, but also took the time to give me general advice, and instruct me on how to return the car out of hours. It’s always good to be welcomed with a smile, especially after a long trip and these people made my experience so smooth, showing the due care for their customers. Highly recommended!!!

As a customer I find the staff at Autovia Airport Sicily knowledgeable, pleasant and always willing to help. We are now returning customers who always feel valued and find your pricing and service second to none. They are all fantastic team, I am sorry I cannot remember everybody’s name but I have had great service from Salvatore, Monica, however we find all staff attentive and easy to talk to. I cannot fault any of your team’s commitment to fantastic customer service. We are so happy we have found such a transparent car hire company, because we have experienced poor service with others. Excellent service from initial reception to returning the car. The car was in very good condition, having covered only 7000 miles. It was also very high spec, featuring various electronic aids an Apple Carplay.

STAY AWAY BIGGEST SCAMMERS OUT THERE! We booked a car with Autovia - Ecovia car rental in Catania through Rentalcars with full insurance and when we arrived in Catania they tried to sell us an additional insurance which we declined as we already had insurance through the booking company, the guy who was serving us then started to talk in Italian (luckily unbeknown to them I understand some Italian) and he told his colleague to give us a problematic car. He then wanted my husband to sign the car rental contract detailing the defects without my husband even seeing the car which my husband then asked to first see the car before signing, things then changed very quickly and the guy became extremely rude. They went to check the car and when returning he spoke in Italian and another guy then told us to f off they don't want to rent the car to us. My husband then explained that there is scratches on the car and the engine makes a strange noise which wasn't listed. They continued to swear at us in Italian and chasing us away refusing to help us. We then had to go to another car rental company which gave us incredible service so luckily we got another car somewhere else, unfortunately alot more expensive but it was worth it as Autovia - Ecovia would have made us paid for damages to the car if we didn't realise them before taking the car. From reading other peoples experiences too them people are absolute thieves. Best to pay more money and go somewhere decent.

Autovia/ecovia delivered me a nice car (better than we rented on paper) and picking it up was fairly easy. However, when delivering it back (without damage) the company double charged my creditcard without letting us know and it was a pain in the ass to get the double payment canceled. It took a lot of phone calls and almost a month to get it canceled after they confirmed it was their fault. After being harder in communication they had it canceled immediately.

The agent in Catania airport return was fabulous. I wish I had gotten her name. She was helpful, friendly and made the whole rental experience easy.

We rented a car for 2 weeks. We got a Seat Leon in impeccable condition. The process to receive the cr was fast. So was the return. They had a quick look at the car, saw that there was nothing and that was it. No looking with a microscope to find a tiny scratch or whatever. They immediately canceled the security deposit andthat was it. Good car, good price, no surprises. What else to ask for. Maybe one minor annoyance: the GPS wasn't up-to-date. Thanks to the staff for a great experience!

Fast car delivery/receipt, nice and helpful personnel, the car met our expectations

Everything was smooth. Picked up the car at the booked hour. The car was a superior class than the one booked (booked ibiza, got arona), but no extra charges.
The deposit was 500euro and I got it back 2 weeks later on my credit card.
