This being our first house, we required lot of directions and Lauren was very patient with us and helped, guided us throughout the handover of our new house keys. After having a fairly horrendous time with a previous solicitor, I decided to cut my losses and move on. I was told about Coffin Mew by the developer of my new home, Taylor Wimpey. The people dealing with my case, Kirsten Wickham and Callum Kendall, were both excellent throughout. They kept me updated with regular emails/phone calls and were prompt in answering my questions. My only regret is that I didn’t go with Coffin Mew originally.

We were first time buyers of a Taylor Wimpey new build property. We chose Coffin Mew as our solicitors following a recommendation from Taylor Wimpey (initially we were hesitant to go with the developers recommendation but a quick check of Coffin Mew's reviews settled the decision).
Our assigned solicitor, Kirsten Wickham, was absolutely fantastic throughout, with quick and effective communication. The entire process went smoothly and we didn't find purchasing a house anywhere near as stressful as we initially expected, which primarily is due to the work of Kirsten and her team (additional mention for Callum Kendall who was also responsive, professional and friendly).
We were first time buyers, using Lifetime ISAs, purchasing a new build property. All of these things were no problem for Coffin Mew. We had no issues throughout the process, would recommend!

We've hired Coffin Mew to help us with a mortgage completion and we can't praise them enough. Our solicitor, Lauren, was absolutely fantastic. Always on top of the case, top notch communication and information.

Great and straightforward service
As a first time buyer I was new to the whole process, but it went seamlessly and was very comfortable with the advice and communication given throughout. The team were there to answer any questions in good time, either by phone or email. Really pleased and would fully recommend.

Really disappointed with the service from Coffin Mew - it took them the best part of six weeks to send a will following a family bereavement. We were initially told to "be patient" as it could take up to two weeks.

I had to chase them twice - because they failed to provide any updates - and on one occasion, after they insisted the will had been spent special delivery, it turned out it had not been sent at all and was waiting in the post room "in the wrong pile", ignored, for almost a week.

They were uncommunicative and caused lots of delays - with what I'm afraid seems nothing less than incompetence. It's not the service I would have hoped for at any time, let alone when dealing with bereavement.

I have used the Portsmouth branch a few times now and dealt with Emily Merrett, Deborah and Amelia. All very helpful and efficient. They answer all of my questions and make the process easy. Thank you :)

Shona Archer and Ed Davies helped us through our whole process of purchasing a new house clearly and step by step. They clearly stepped up in order to meet the 30/9/21 deadline despite having others in the same situation.
For us communication is key and if things don't go as you expect it's how matters are dealt with following on. The key here was that someone was always available on the phone to discuss issues. This type of service is unfortunately too rare from my experience as other companies consistently put you on hold and never respond, where as Ed and Shona always made the effort to answer or phone/email back.

AMAZING PEOPLE. There were emails that led to delays which was only sent to my partner (with me not being CC'ed when I handle most of the paperwork), but apart from that they were prompt even with the whole COVID situation.
