It was very easy to sort out breakdown cover . A bonus to receive the taster card . The price is very reasonable too.

I've been with Emergency Assist a few years and they always respond when needed. Thunk I could have got the cover a bit cheaper though as a new customer!

I was sent an email that they would be dipping their hand into my account called auto renewal. I didn't want European cover this year and therefore emailed this request. I didn't receive a reply. I then contacted customer service explaining what has happened and still no reply. I then phoned them and they didn't answer the phone. By this
point I had had enough and asked for a cancellation and refund. In the meantime I received an email that they had renewed the breakdown cover and taken over £60 out of my account. I have now contacted my credit card company and put in a claim for a fraudulent transaction.
This is the standard reply from them so I thought I would post it to save them the trouble.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear things didn't go as they should and we'd like to find out more. Please get in touch at customer care @ blah blah and we'll make sure this is looked into. The Emergency Assist Team
UPDATE.
I HAVE, HOW MANY MORE TIMES. HELLO, HELLO, ANYONE HOME. You didn't even read this did you.
UPDATE.
Eventually received a refund. They denied I had contacted them despite having copy emails.

A warning regarding Emergency Assist Roadside Recovery brokered by 2
What you must read across all roadside assistance and recovery cover is this;
The failure of a component (e.g. heating or air condition system), or illumination of any of the Vehicle’s warning lights, does not constitute a Breakdown unless the Vehicle completely ceases to function as a result, unless the manufacturer’s handbook confirms that immediate attention is required and that the Vehicle should not be driven In all other instances, You need to make Your way to a place of repair, and any Breakdown cover within this Cover will not apply.
My 22 year daughter was left with no assistance or recovery on the roadside overnight on a Sunday, even more difficult to obtain any alternative help at 22:30. I would not recommend this company or ANY recovery company where you are not given assistance when 4 rear bulbs go at the rear of the car and a woman is left alone overnight by the side of the road.
CHECK THE SMALL PRINT!
I was advised a manager would call me back which I assumed they would do while my daughter was still on her own on the roadside and after three days there was still no phone call. There is no option to get a refund. WOMEN DRIVING ON THEIR OWN, PLEASE CHECK THAT YOU WILL ASSISTED OR YOU WILL BE LEFT ROADSIDE WITH NO COMMUNICATION FROM THIS COMPANY DAY OR NIGHT.
The AA and the RAC would send out roadside assistance to anyone covered with their policy as although the vehicle is still working, it is illegal and unsafe to drive without the rear lights working and recover if roadside assistance was not possible, in this same scenario.
This company does not provide cover that will give you peace of mind when driving your car.

I spoke to Zoe who was so professional and polite and dealt with my problems hassle free she’s a credit to the company ty Zoe

I was so pleasantly surprised at the short wait on the phone to speak to someone regarding my policy. So refreshing.
A gentleman called Gary Lewis took my call, and was so helpful and polite, as well as friendly. A real asset to the company.
I would definitely recommend, just on their customer service alone.

I, and other family members have been with this breakdown cover for a few years. Easy to set up and very good value for money. One family member had to call them due to breakdown and they were quick to arrive and efficient at sorting it all out.. I would definitely recommend them!

Great customer service
Great prices
Been a customer for few years now, renew each year as cant beat the price. Now have a joint policy with my son since he got his first car.

I have used EA for a few years now and the couple of times I've had call them out the experience has been great so happy to renew again this year. However, one of the positives was the fact they offered a loyalty discount. No longer. I obtained a quote as new business which was cheaper than my renewal. Not a huge amount admittedly but there is now a hassle factor involved so they've become 'like the rest'. I'm sure they are WAY more competitive than the other big guys and I appreciate EVERYTHING costs more but it niggles none the less! Moan over...

Emergency Assist Ltd handle breakdown claims on behalf of GoVivid. This review concerns their handling of a GoVivid claim in June 2026.
First, a warning about the policy itself. GoVivid's wording contains an exclusion for claims arising from the vehicle's lights, radio, chargers or any third party electronic devices being left on. That exclusion exists in the small print and prospective customers should decide for themselves whether a provider who includes that wording is right for them.
Second, the exclusion was wrongly applied. My wife broke down with a flat battery - a named covered event in the policy - while running the car's built-in ventilation fan in 27C heat. A built-in fan is not a light, a radio, a charger or a third party device, and it was not left on. It was in deliberate use because the temperature outside was 27C. Emergency Assist applied the exclusion anyway.
Third, when I challenged this, a call handler told me the exclusion covered "anything that draws power and could drain the battery." That wording does not appear in the policy. When I pointed out that they couldn't just make up new policy wording on the fly, they terminated the call. This happened more than once. A supervisor later refused to discuss whether the actual wording of the exclusion applied at all, telling my wife that the meaning of the phrase "third party devices" was not relevant or important.
Fourth, at no point did anyone ask my wife whether she had passengers with her, what the conditions were, or whether there was anything they should know. She was stranded with our children in 27C heat for over two and a half hours with no water, no food and no sun cream. No attempt was made to understand the situation.
A formal complaint has been raised. I am in the process of leaving GoVivid and returning to my previous provider.

Easy to contact, handler thorough and helpful, kept us up to date with progress.
Break down in a large car park, provided a What3Words reference for exact parking spot, not sure it was passed to response driver.

Not had to use yet, thankfully but with the cover same all major players. But at a fraction of the cost paying for a name I’m happy to give it a shot. This is my own opinion.

Hit a deer in November 2025 and needed the car towed 10 minutes away to the closest garage.
Did they want to help ?
Nope, as apparently it's not a breakdown.
Well, after 3 years of being with them it looks like I will not renew the membership.

Reply from Emergency Assist
Shame my renewal was very expensive and I had to cancel my original policy.
