What a load of rubbish
What a load of rubbish! Bombarded with emails after paying for a policy with so much more information they needed, instead of asking first. So much time and effort into e-mailing and chatting with them, multiple cancellations issued and then withdrawn and still the day after my 14-day right to withdraw ‘cooling off period’ they still cancelled: stealing £132 of money! So over 40% of the cost of the policy! Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

Wanted to put an extra driver on the policy. The online questionnaire wouldn’t accept driver licence details no matter how I tried altho they were correct. So to the online chat bot and then on to an on line agent. 1 1/2 hrs it took. Sorry, but never again! Different insurer with a telephone number next year.

Avoid like the plague I’ve been with them for about four years never had any dealings with them until late. They get the information you give them wrong and then they want to charge you complete an utter rip off. Had to update my address three times they’re not an insurance company they’re brokers. You can’t even speak to a human being.

Avoid. Took out insurance tonight and stated wife had held driving license for 38 years (she was out so couldn't check).
When she got back I entered her license details and then Hedgehod said she had in fact had her license for 40 years not 38 like I said and charged me an extra £24
Surely 40 is better than 38 if it makes any difference at all. Complete scam imo.

Disgusting. Charged a cancellation fee and admin fee of over £100 for a car insurance. That is over 25%? I'm now talking to the Financial Ombudsman Service. I had only just accepted the quote and after me paying them they wanted so much extra information like bills with my name on to be emailed with a list of other requirements, like access to My DVLA? What is wrong with you people?

They keep charging me more each month than agreed.
They have now increased my insurance by £100 cos of a claim i made with my previous insurer.
I have not had a claim in over 8 years
They also charged me £50 for not responding to an email to agree the insurance price
They then charged me another £50 to amend a date on my policy for how long i held my licence.
They are scammers!!!!

Awful - Moved home & as the property is new-build the address wasn't registered in their system so they had to cancel my inaurance policy- which is fine, HOWEVER they charged ME to cancel... Absolutely ridicilous.
Also no phone to call & speak to someone peoplery. Very unimpressed.

I paid for a new car insurance policy…
I paid for a new car insurance policy through their website. After I entered my card details and confirmed the payment with my bank, their website reported an error and the policy was not created. The payment (over £600) was stuck in a state of "pending payment". I contacted Hedgehog assuming that they would recognise the error and just create the policy. However they couldn't create the policy or cancel the payment. So I had no insurance policy and the money was stuck in limbo for 7 days until the bank cancelled it. The customer service is appalling. They made it very much my problem and not theirs. At first they even tried to claim the error was my fault. Then they tried to say it was an error with Visa (that was a lie). Avoid at all costs.
