Misleading website, hidden charges, no response from customer service
Appalling behaviour by this business. Same experience as others here - wish I had checked out the reviews before I ordered. £10 postage and then £17.80 import taxes, and the carbon cost of sending individual items from Australia to the UK. That items are sent from Australia is not disclosed until the transaction is finalised and no warning about the import tax. UK facing website, .uk url and prices in £ - very misleading. Emailed customer service - no reply.
Keep Away From Kikki K
Very well hidden information on website about extortionate import charges. It can only be picked up if you enter delivery in the search. It does not appear under shipping and returns on the item page. £24 item cost an additional £10 delivery plus £17.80 import charge. Absolute disgrace
Absolutely fuming
Absolutely fuming. Having to pay £21 import tax to get my items. No reply to my emails . Will never order from them again. Money is tight enough without having to pay this.
Do not order
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE there is hidden import tax that you are not made aware of. I ordered an overpriced planner, paid £10 delivery, and then had to pay £22.60 import tax. Absolutely ridiculous. DHL won’t deliver until the tax is paid on their website. There was no information about this tax on the KIKKI K website. I will never order from them again.
Buyer Beware - excessive hidden import fees
The website does make it clear that products are shipped from Australia and clarifies their delivery charges. They also warn of import duties and VAT to pay without advising on the amount - the additional charge from the courier compounds the issue, creating a total hidden charge of £17 on a £22 purchase.
These charges are known to Kikki K - they should provide greater clarity on their website of the amounts involved rather than hide behind the statement " it is the customer’s responsibility to pay any overseas customs duties, foreign taxes or other fees... "
Hidden Import Fees, Terrible Customer Service
This company needs its website banning in the UK. During the purchase process they fail to tell you about import fees. So either you paying about £20+ to get your goods or you don’t get them at all and considering the cost of the items is about £30 it’s a joke.
BEWARE OF CUSTOMS TAX AT Kikki.K!
I am very disappointed with Kikki.K! They have been quite sly and non-transparent about the fact that they are shipping all of their products from Australia!!!.
They make sure they clearly state FREE delivery on all orders over £40 on their UK home page. However unless you click on the shipping and delivery link at the bottom of the page and read the small print, be prepared to pay customs tax. The first I heard about this is when DHL emailed me to say I owe £20+ Import Duty/Tax!!! Of course they have legally covered themselves, but in the most sneakiest way ever! They know fully well that UK customers are going to be caught off guard and of course what choice do I have but to pay or loose my £40 worth of personalised stationary. As a previously loyal customer I certainly won't EVER be ordering from them again!
Hidden import duties
When I placed an order with Kikki.K just before or during Black Friday, it was not made clear that I would have to pay (close to GBP 30) ... Australian ... import duties. So much for the Swedish (Hej UK) impersonation! I am not buying from this firm ever again.
Hidden import duties - They have lost my business
The company should make it clear to the customers that they will be charged Import Duties on top of the price visible on their website. They flaunt the "free delivery" but hide the additional import duties in the small prints.
I am glad I experienced this prior to my Christmas online shopping. I have carefully avoided Kikki.k for my Christmas presents. Their loss!
Cynical behaviour by this outfit…
Cynical behaviour by this outfit despite its faux Scandinavian bonhomie. Import duty has almost doubled the price of a diary. Of course the possibility of such a tariff is present in the small print but any warning of such is entirely absent from the purchase process. The reviews below show that import duty has come as an unwelcome surprise to many customers over a number of months, particularly those who have previously made duty free purchases online from Kikki K.
The fact that Kikki K has failed to amend its online processes to ensure customers are able to make a fully informed decision about a purchase suggests that the outfit doesn't care and/or can no longer supply competitively priced products to the UK market.
After 10 years I shall be looking for a new diary supplier.
Exactly as others have reported..
Exactly as others have reported... stung for import tax! Been a very loyal customer for years, will not order from them again. There was no mention at the time of ordering that the order would be subject to import tax, it looked as though I was ordering from a UK site offering free delivery!
Absolute con!
Unclear Import Taxes
I have used Kikki-K for years, absolutely love their stuff. However as they no longer have stores in the UK, all their stuff comes from Australia, perfectly fine with this as I said I have used this company time and time again. They advertised 'spend £40 and receive free delivery' perfect! However what they don't make clear (at all) is that you will have to pay import tax, mine came to £20 my order was £40! I am very disappointed as this was not made clear at all, and unfortunately I will not be using their store again (annoyingly as I love their stuff)!
Watch out for the import taxes!
As per other reviews you get stung for extortionate import taxes of 50% of the order cost. The response from customer services...a voucher. Which if I use I will have to pay their extortionate delivery costs and some more import charges. Really poor. AVOID!
Faced with excessive charges by DHL in…
Faced with excessive charges by DHL in addition to VAT. Simply cannot understand why I have to pay a payment/deferment risk of £11 in addition to the VAT on goods described as stationary. Will not be purchasing from this company again despite years of using them.
Terrible service
Terrible service. After paying DELIVERY charges - very high, faced with a further charge from DHL. Products clearly not left their warehouse (In Nz or Aus or China).
Not made aware of these extras! evidently on an obscure page on their site. SO SAD.. I have promoted these products for years'. Flat reply from KIKKI... no refund. Goodbye KIKKI... I guess you will be out of business VERY SOON. Do not purchase from them Lucia Taylor (one time very loyal customer)
Shocking customer services and over priced products/delivery.
Ordered from here a couple of weeks ago and loved the look of the stationary. Firstly, I was so shocked by the 10 pounds delivery fee but still decided to go ahead and purchase this product. Not only was there an extortionate delivery fee, when the parcel reaches the courier you are then expected to pay a duty tax charge that it more than half of the price of the products itself. Customer service were absolutely shocking, would not refund my money and take back the products. They offered me a voucher for the site but why would I want this? Spend more money on their site, pay a further 10 pounds delivery and then duty tax additional to this as well. I have been forced to keep these unwanted products and now being ignored by customer service.
- It should definitely be stated under the delivery fee when purchasing that import tax charges may apply.
As per many customer below do not…
As per many customers below do not order anything as you will have to pay over 50pct import tax having spoke to customer service today they appeared not to know and cant help tried to get dhl uk return and waiting to see what happens if kikki k get parcel back they will supposedly refund DO NOT USE OR ORDER YOU WILL BE OUT OF POCKET UK SITE IS NOT ACTUALLY UK false advertising BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. They “closed down” their uk sight then said it’s now back up. But it’s not. It’s the overseas site and has 50 percent tax on value of goods. It’s mentioned in FAQ but the way it’s written is as if you were ordering goods to be sent overseas. They are claiming it’s UK site but it isn’t. Avoid at all costs.
Extortionate hidden import tax
As many of the other reviews, I placed an order on the UK website for two planners and was shocked to receive an email from DHL stating I needed to pay £21.44 import tax - which is over 50% of the cost of what I ordered.
I have been a loyal customer of Kikki K for many years, however always shopped in store. I will now boycott because these taxes are not made clear at the point of ordering, and customer services were unhelpful and simply directly me to the FAQs on their website. Sure, it’s noted if you go hunting, but you don’t expect this from a UK website.
Worst customer service ever.
Worst customer service ever.
As most can see here, they do not care one bit on their customer. All the complaints on here and no responses.
I would advise though to stay clear of Kikki K as their customer service is horrible. They don't seem to realise without customers there is no store.
Maybe one day, they will experience the loss of customers and wished they have improved on their services, however, the ship will sink by then and they can learn at this time how they should have cared more about their customers, the people who pay their bread and butter.
I have boycotted Kikki K.
