My Dentist - St Austell Cornwall

Reluctant review - I had a lot of work carried out end of 2024, 0ver £1k. Had an issue with a new filling which caused more issues than fixed, had to be removed, I was offered a refund, then advised if the problem didn't settle down would need to have a surgical extraction from another practice. I called back in Jan 2025 to get a referral for this to be done, never had a response, I didn't make an annual check up appointment afterwards as had no further problems. Roll on 2026 and an email to advise my check up was due, I called to make an appointment and asked about the credit on my account, nothing there, explained what had happened & the receptionist said she would get the practice manager to call me. Nothing to date.

Probably won't be going here again! Contacted my MP Noah Law, asked him to find me an NHS dentist anywhere in the country.......no response to date.

UPDATE 02.04.26 - had a call 16/03/26 from the practice manager, discussed my concerns, she said she would investigate the following day. Over 2 weeks now & no response, I'll assume they don't want to address complaints then!

Terrible dentists just take your money…

Terrible dentists just take your money and do nothing,.paid went in did x-ray and was out in 2 min later,.instead of sealing the tooth said go private and pay to do a root canal

Malmesbury Practice

I have always had a positive experience at your Malmsbury practice, but my recent visit was seriously undermined by the behavior of your new receptionist, Niki.

She spoke to me in a rude and abrupt manner, which was immediately off-putting. To make matters worse, she was openly clutching a vape device while on duty an incredibly unprofessional display. While I waited to see my dentist, I observed her speaking to colleagues in a dismissive and rude way. She also repeatedly went outside to vape, announcing it loudly to the waiting area 2–4 times, as if the rest of the practice were somehow meant to celebrate her break.

Her behavior was disruptive, unprofessional, and completely at odds with the welcoming and competent atmosphere I’ve come to expect from your practice. I sincerely hope this is a temporary lapse due to her being new, as her attitude has the potential to bring the entire environment down drastically.

I trust you will address this urgently.

Upselling corporate uncaring rubbish

After being with the same dental practice (run by residents dentists) for 50 years, Mydentist took over.
My first visit was a combination of get him in, upsell everything, give him an unnecessary scan. I only needed the usual checkup.
My second visit never happened. Apparently I’d been ‘struck off’. As it’d been over 2 years (3 years) since my last visit.

“Don’t you inform me if I’m to be struck off”… “no, we don’t call you”… “can I be reinstated”… “yes, but you’ll be on the waiting list”… “how long”… “3 years”… “how will I know if I’m being reinstated?”… “we’ll call you” 🤷🏽‍♂️

After questioning this procedure the woman said “I’m sorry, they’re not like the customer service we use to provide”.

Another robotic national Corp replaces a local caring small family run business.

Under NHS contract, there is no requirement for us to recall patients for appointments. The practice does offer recalls, but this is a courtesy, when we have the required NHS appointment capacity. It is ultimately the patients responsibility to make appointments and attend regular routine care.

My experience with My Dentist at 2 Macmillian Crescent Pennywell Road Edinburgh with Dr Tanu Agrawal has been brilliant. Very pleased with the work I had done. All the staff there are lovely polite and well mannered and helpful.

The Problem with My Dentist…Glossop

The Problem with My Dentist Glossop,seems to be the inability to offer any form of professional ability,they think that an appointment 4 days ahead is an emergency appointment.and charge you the emergency fee .
I telephoned for an emergency appointment ,after they cancelled my appointment ,they said it would be four days for an emergency appointment. when i asked when is the next review appointment available they said four days,so you can guess i picked the normal appointment.
Previous occasion they sent me to Station House Dental Practice for an xray as they do not have xray equipment to facilitate a full xray of the mouth and had to keep on telephoning my dentist for the result,even though station house assured me they had sent the results ,to My Dentist Glossop.only seem interested in making as much money as possible ,rather than providing good dental health care. just come a across as shoddy and money grabbing.

They are untrustworthy

They are untrustworthy. An appointment to address a toothache took 4 days to come to be, so emergency treatment rates should not apply.
I was told on the phone that I would be charged £27.40 and after the appointment I was charged £122.00. Dishonest.
I asked for an appointment with the TC to assess financing an implant and was told that the TC would call me that it could be addressed through a phone call.
It is difficult to get through to them on the phone and they mislead you with the pricing information.
How can I trust them with the care of my teeth?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding Dentist - Highly Recommend

I honestly cannot recommend Fuad Dajani highly enough.

I am a new patient and I’ve now seen him three times at My Dentist on Lincoln Road, Peterborough, and in that short space of time he has restored my confidence in dental care.

He saved a tooth that a previous dentist had told me could not be saved - something I had already mentally prepared myself to lose. That alone speaks volumes about his skill and dedication. He has also provided me with a bite guard and a denture for a missing tooth I had been extremely self-conscious about. The difference this has made to both my comfort and confidence is huge.

As someone who has had some very bad past experiences and is genuinely nervous of dentists, I cannot overstate how safe, respected and at ease he has made me feel. He is incredibly friendly, calm, reassuring and thoroughly professional. He explains everything clearly, never rushes, and you truly feel you are in capable hands. Ausra is an absolute delight as well.

Without question, he is by far the best dentist I have ever seen, both NHS and private, and I feel incredibly lucky to have found him.

A very professional and empathetic dentist.

I was very impressed with Dr. Aamir Haji for the second time. I had a wisdom tooth extraction and a extraction with a very old crown and a root canald tooth. He is so professional, makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. He is very quick and empathetic too. I would definitely recommend him for any dental treatment. Thanks a lot Dr. Aamir. The team at York are outstanding and…

The team at York are outstanding and inspirational. So much care has gone into customer experience at the newish Stonebow building. Aldwark was rubbish compared to Stonebow. I would like to thank the following for their great work ; Roseanne McCallum-My Grandma has told me so many good things about her. Joshua Goh-Helpful and Supportive. Charlotte Hyde- A icon and finally the receptionist Allison- Every time I come to the dentist she is the first person I see. She is always so friendly. Everyone is Awesome here!

Two bad experiences at the Poole…

Two bad experiences at the Poole surgery - I had an extraction which was so painful I was clinging to the arms of the chair and trying to scream - difficult with your mouth wedged open. The dentist didn't even stop to ask if I was OK. The next visit was only a little better - never had to pay for pain before. Like most"chains" of doctors surgeries nowadays, the primary focus is not on the patients well being and comfort, but the company's finances.
I contacted the practice at the time and also wrote to Head Office - the response was the usual scripted standard apology.

Thornbury Dental Practice

Thornbury Dental Practice. Dentist very polite and knowledgeable. Happy to explain and I felt that time was spent to ensure I understood. Would definitely be happy to see her again.
No issues with the dental team
Issues with the dental practice itself. Has stairs to get into the building. Handrail loose. I did report this and it was put straight into their maintenance book.
Surgery room was off a waiting room. No privacy as I could hear everything that was discussed with other patients. Staff also had to step into the waiting room when doing x-ray so again I felt that this was not very private. Confidentiality, privacy and dignity totally lacking. No toilets available for patients which could be an issue when people have to wait and are nervous.

Repeated cancellations and poor handling of complaints

I only get one dental appointment per year, and MyDentist Anfield has cancelled at least four of my appointments over the last few years. Today’s cancellation was 27 minutes before my appointment, after I had been up since 7am to get ready.

When I tried to make a complaint verbally because I struggle with writing, I was refused and told the process is email only. Reception minimised my concerns, saying “one cancelled appointment per year isn’t bad,” which ignores that all my appointments have been repeatedly disrupted, causing stress, wasted time, and lost wages.

While these may be routine check-ups for most patients, for me, due to sensory issues and other conditions, they are far more challenging. Repeated cancellations make accessing dental care extremely difficult and put me at a substantial disadvantage compared to patients without my conditions.
