Wish I switched before, tehy dont rob you with fees. They also tell you how much you're spending and on what, amazing. I saved €7000 in transaction fees because of Revolut compared to Bank of Scotland
Nice for travel, saving
I have been Revolut client since 2018 and no problems so far. Very convenient for travel or money withdrawal (very decent currency exchange rates, 200EUR monthly limit for withdrawals with no fee). I adore their metal card. I was also asked to upload several documents for them to check whether my income is legal, all fine with that.
Even more - after not very successful dispute with lastminute.com about refund of booking of non-existing hotel, I handed in a claim for refund due to fraud in Revolut. After some waiting I have received my money back. Very loyal and content customer. I also love their client service, sometimes you have to wait, but they handle all my issues professionally and respectfully.
I am also a fan of vaults - easy to make some savings.
All the best!
Joke company randomly selecting…
Joke company randomly selecting accounts to close. I used it to sell cryptos p2p and they locked my account from one day to the next. Funny thing is there are 10’s of people currently using Revolut to sell cryptos p2ps on Binance and that have and still trade 10 times more than I did. I played it compliant and provided everything they asked just to see my account closed my money for my premium account stolen (they say I can still use it while I cannot even transfer the money I have left to some of my contacts to empty the account). So just terrible company randomly selecting accounts to close to pretend being compliant and letting 100 others continuing their activity. Just a joke. Stay out of it or face some financial loss just like me…..
Pain free
Pain free, impressive service, better than any bank I have used before.
To transfer funds to another currency at next to no exchange rate slippage, this is fully epic, normally one would loose 3 to 10%. Also crypto purchase and selling, whooo, epic. Also signing up, easy easy. Seriously I think they deserve to be one of the biggest growth companies in 2021.
I hope they extend to Australia and NZ.
If I was a traditional bank, I would be afraid, since Revolut is doing a better job.
Revolut vs N26
Ive been using Revolut and N26 for a year. Revolut beats N26 in all but one aspect...here's why:
Cards: Revolut provides virtual visa and physical maestro cards. The N26 virtual card is a maestro card, lot less online stores and shop terminals accept the N26 card.
Acceptance: the Revolut card is accepted almost everywhere in Europe and Brazil. In Brazil, the Cielo terminals, which are about 50% of all terminals, do not accept wireless payments with my mobile phone. They do accept payments with the physical Revolut card. All other terminals in Brazil accept payments using your virtual Revolut card in your phone. I was NOT able to pay with the N26 virtual card almost anywhere in Brazil. The N26 card is useless un Brazil. The N26 card was also rejected by some European airlines like TAP. KLM and Ryanair accept both. In Europe, I was able to use both Revolut and N26 everywhere I tried, including Belgium, Portugal, Germany, Hungary and France.
Customer service: neither of them has a phone number to call. Both have a chat. In my experience Revolut has more extended, global opening hours. Waiting times are comparabale. The clear advantage of Revolut is that you can send your query, close the app and open the message thread when an agent answers. N26 has a technical problem with this. Often when i receive a notification that N26 answered, i tap it but its impossible to get back to the messages and actually see their answer.
Access: you can install and use Revolut on 2 phones. So if your phone breaks or gets stolen, you can still access your money. With N26, if you lose access to your one "paired device" you are screwed. You can install N26 on 2 phones but only 1 can be your "paired device". If try to do anything with a device other than the paired one, N26 wants a confirmation on your paired device. So installing N26 on a second device is useless. Both have a idiotic 2-step verification, so if you lose access to your phone(s) you cant do anything on your laptop because they will be sending verification codes to your phone. This is also annoying if you use different SIM cards.
Security: Both have bad reputations blocking accounts, disappearing with the money and making it difficult for clients to get their money back. Both should work on this. Beyond that, this is the only point where N26 beats Revolut. N26 is a licensed German bank, so your money -up to 100k EUR- is protected by the EU deposit protection scheme. Revolut is a financial service provider, not regulated by the protection scheme. N26 left both the UK and US markets closing hundreds of thousands of accounts. Not a step that increases trust.
Purchase protection: I dont know if N26 offers purchase protection, basic Revolut doesnt. I see users complaining about it, read where you put your money...they are clear about the basic package not offering purchase protection.
Other: Revolut sent a physical card to Brazil within a week. Which is really cool. I dont have a physical N26 card so I cant compare. I can compare to my former idiot, address obsessed belgian bank, ING, that still thinks its 1960 and people spend their lives living at one address. If you lose your Revolut card travelling, you can order a replacement for max 25 eur postage, to any address. This gives a kind of ease of mind while travelling abroad.
well just for treatment abroad
No purchase protection for buyers.
No purchase protection for buyers.
I used Revolut to pay for an item from India.
The item was detained in customs as counterfeit.
Revolut couldn't care less and only told me to report it to the Police fraud department.
The chat people all work to a script to tire you out by waiting hours for them to reply, and then passing you onto another colleague, until you give up.
I will never use Revolut again.

I was pretty much happy with the services, but then out of a sudden, they have closed my account. first, apparently, they have investigated, for over a month and then they closed. No information or clarification.
they think they can cheat clients
this people think they can cheat costumer anytime they want. i contacted them many times with no result. i trade crypto with them when i open the trade the different price with others is 40 pips, when i start making money and want to close the trade, the different was 12 pips, so i lost for the spread, and 1.5% plus the cheating different with 28 pips. even late by upgrading the price...this is unacceptable. i will send a complain letter to the Authority
Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible. For no reason and with no notifications, they blocked my account. I couldn't pay bills or buy things. I contacted customer service repeatedly and waited 3 weeks for a reply. They said they were conducting security reviews and then a week later they've just terminated my account. WITH NO REASON. Keep away from them and don't waste your time or lose any of your money!

The bank is not helpful i sent money on nov 9 until today the recipient havent got rhe money yet she went to the beneficiary bank to ask but nothing the money i sent is not existing at all this kind of delays did not happend once the first time is understandable but 2x 3x is enough for me to prove the bank is not helpful with this kind of transfers .the advertisement of referral is neither true its just for attraction but not existing. Not worth promoting! Bad news! I was even told to wait for the team that traces the transaction but noones connecting and assisting they are only trying to avoid the mess! Frustrating!.
Very good service
Very good service, especially the support team in Spain and its immediate answer for each request. I opened 2 accounts for my companies.
So far everything has been great
So far everything has been great. Definitely recommend to anyone who is doing any sort of currency exchange. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because of relatively high transaction fee cost of cryptocurrencies as well as limited selection of them.
Money and transactions disappeared!
I got payment for services to Revolut. Customers paid from their Revolut account to mine. After a month, there is no transactions on my account. Money is gone, there is no proof that any transaction happened. I know how crazy that sounds. I'm in the business for 10 years and I know all popular ways how customers could cheat me but this was not the case. Obviously I contacted customer support and they asked me for transaction number that I obviously don't have since there is no proof of any transaction on my account. Obviously customers wont get back to me pay for the service that they already got for free.

Can’t be trusted with your money
Can’t be trusted with your money
They will freeze it without any reason and then not answer you at all while you can’t access your own hard earned money
Failing transfers without explanation
Failing transfers without explanation. They blame the receiving bank, which in turn states that money never got to them. Therefore Revolut is lying!
They state 1 day for a transfer and when it doesn’t take place within the given timeframe, their CS says that I should have checked their FAQ and see that 1 day is “automatic” and they actually can take 5 working days.
CS is poorly trained. Can never escalate a complaint.
Avoid at all costs - they either lie or they don’t know what they are doing.
Never use them for large sums!
What a disappointment!
