BEWARE! Revolut is not safe

I'm writing this review to warn others about Revolut. I signed up to the bank app in August and made a deposit. My revolut card didn't arrive but I received no response from the Revolut help line even though I am paying for a premium plan to ensure I do get technical help. The card was stolen and has been used for numerous transactions and I have lost most of the money I deposited. Trying to get help from Revolut is very stressful, endless chats with people who go off shift and don't pass the record on to the next person. Be very cautious if you try using the help line on the Revolut website because it contains a phishing scam so I have now lost additional money which was charged to my credit card. This is a serious case of fraudulent activity but I cannot contact anyone on revolut by email or phone. Now, the police are involved. Beware!

They will remove your review from App Store to keep…

They will remove your review to keep clean account but just look at trust pilot. I bought a gift voucher sent it to my friend and he couldn’t use it because it was keep saying voucher code doesn’t exist. Revolut wouldn’t refund it or make it work and I got prove in form of screenshots from conversation with them. They literally told me I won’t get my money back. Absolutely disgusting. It’s been 3 days now without solution despite the fact I provided all proofs. Voucher was purchased through their app and sent through their app!

Slow customer service, wasted money.

It takes you half an hour to give me a customer service agent?! The girl tried her best to help, but since her colleagues wouldn't reply to her, we couldn't stop my payment from going through without receiving a reference which was important to the seller.
So I had to make a second payment with that reference only to find out that I need to contact the seller and ask them to give me my money back. 4 hours and 68 euros wasted for nothing. Great customer service, guys...

Blocked money

Hi, last week I sent money (22 000 euro) from my czech account to my english revolut account. My money were blocked. Nobody answering!!! I cant reach revolut support because they are busy.... I dont recomand this "modern" bank!

Avoid any trading of cryptos on…

Avoid any trading of cryptos on Revolut. It’s very expensive and a scam. The app displays market price and when you hit execute order to buy and confirm the final amount that shows market price + 1.5% fees (premium or Metal account). When you get a statement they changed the rate and crypto was sold to you up to 13% higher confirmed price. So you pay up to 14.5% over the market price. Same applies to sell transactions and they credit your account -14.5% less. They reply that Revolut’s cryptocurrency prices are calculated using the volume-weighted average price (VWAP). Yes this is 13% different than displayed market price!! So they charge high fee and use very unfavourable VWAP rate that is shown to you only after the transaction is done. I have submitted a complaint by email and complaint form and there is no reply after 2 weeks.
Revolut uses fraudulent method and they are real scammers. Stay away from them.

awful for international payments

awful for international payments. Don’t trust them, they lost a 110 us dollar payment. They know it was rejected by the bank over 12 days ago but won’t credit it back. If they can ‘lose’ 110 dollars, they can lose much more. i pay for premium services ha, ha, ha

The app is great - But....

The app is great - shame that the Customer service (at least the UK one) is a complete disgrace -- Unhelpful, they just send you links like you are an idiot and you havent read the FAQ before contacting them. It takes ages to respond to your chat (still using the Covid excuse - slightly outdated by now). It is clear that they just do copy-paste of a script of every possible problem. Not a minimal effort in empathise with the client. To end everything is coated with lots of sugar to let them look like they do care (but they dont) -- Not even a chance to speak with someone to solve the issue quickly and reasonably, you have to spend half day explaining things by chat and waiting for them to answer - Other companies to definitely better

Once brilliant, now marred by abysmal support!

Been with them since March 2017.

I haven't had a great many issues but on the occasions I did need to contact support they were once exemplary and that really stuck with me.

Sadly that is no more! I've noticed a gradual decline over the last ~12 months. The last couple of times have been absolutely terrible and infuriating. Just been corresponding with some half-wit who takes about 5-10 minutes between messages and then says nothing useful. I just get the same canned responses "I'm sorry for the issues you are faced", "We're working to resolve it"...

To be honest I don't want to waste more of my day going into chapter and verse here so will just say that as a Metal customer who's been with them for a good few years now I'm beyond disappointed and absolutely am seeking an alternative from this instant.

Avoid Revolut at all terms (possible fraud)

A simple refund from Amazon. I haven’t received my refund from Amazon and when I was finally able to reach someone from Revolut support, I was informed that I need an official statement from Amazon. I don’t understand what an official statement means. Amazon already sent me the refund email stating that it was processed successfully from their end; they even gave me the transaction ID which is globally traceable across banks. The support guy from Revolut tells me that he cannot track the transaction ID. This is against compliance. I am not sure if Revolut has right approvals from regulatory authorities. Be careful using Revolut; I will probably close the account once I all my issues are resolved.

Metal card plan: Very bad experience. Feeling cheated. Definitely moving to another program

September 29th 2021 : I invested in Telor coin 8k usd at price $40 per coin.
There system shows I bought at $47 per coin.
Instead of 200 coins, they gave me 166 coins,
and as soon as I opened the position, it showed 11% loss on the total investment.
Price reached $47 per coin only on 3rd October after a 20+% increase.

Contacted the live chat.
They said they are trying to fix the issue.
Waited 6 days.
No Updates.
Contacted them again.
Their agents tried to convince me there system is correct and I bought at $47 dollars per coin.
Explained this is basics mathematics.
If since September 29th 2021 when I invested the price went up by 23% so far, how in the name of God is this correct, and your system shows I am in profits of only 1%?
I wanted to close the position in profits.
They said based on their calculations I would make 1-2% approximately.
I mentioned I am contacting regulators and writing a review on TrustPilot.
They did not seem to mind at all.
Their answer was the same.
Wait more.
We are checking the matter.
Our prices are correct.
So here I am writing my story with Revolut.
Used to be happy with them.
Now it feels an absolute scam.
Next step, contacting the regulators.

Horrendous customer service

The proposition is superb but the customer service is extremely poor. Web chat is appalling. I waited 20 minutes and had no notifications re wait time or any indication that an agent would be with me in 10/20/30 minutes.

I have had only 1 denial of service since…

I have had only 1 denial of service since 2019.

I used my basic Rev* card mostly in Portugal initally where it worked fine except for one moment when it's systems shut down unexpectedly when I had a six week caravan park bill to pay in euros... these things happen in cyberspace from time to time.

I got stuck in Argentina at the beginning of the pandemic and I am still here... you would need to know how useful Revolut has been to me since then ( argentina is not a country where you should ever use a foreign bank card to withdraw cash....I wont explain this to folks reading this as it is too complicated..everything is done in dollars here because of the constant inflation and valuelessness of the local currency which has halved its exchange rate against the cash dollar in the last 9 months) getting back to the point... Revolut came into its own as I have been able to sell pounds and euros to pay my argentine rent to argentinians resident in Spain ( thereby circumventing the awfulness of the argentine currency) and I have also sold Euros to Irish residents whose friends have paid me in Argentinian pesos here...worked like a dream...very useful.

I have also paid other bills in Portugal directly using PT IBAN numbers... no dramas.

With regard to the mobile app interface well as an IT guy who writes software for a living I find all these apps lose the plot sooner or later and Revolut is no exception.

Why on earth they dont provide a basic, user configurable interface so that people can do what they want only and no jigger around with stacks of stuff that nobody really wants is a mystery to me... but all the finance companies drown you in this stuff andRevolut is no better nor worse than any others.

I have found on several occasions that if you stick with it their online text based help mostly works...but it is a bit of a slog...

One more thing that worked for me, I sent a second card to a friend who was stuck in Italy without money to make her next move to Andorra ( An argentine without EU rights) the card arrived I unblocked it, she withdrew the cash, I blocked it again and she returned the card to me when we met up again in Argentina this time around.

Apart from one failed transaction in 2019, when their systems were down I have no complaints.
