I would not recommend this pump at all.i thought for the money i was spending on it it would be one of the best and it’s not it’s very inconvenient it has more parts to clean and hard to clean and almost impossible to get all of the milk out I feel like it doesn’t get as much milk out as it should and I can’t bend over without it leaking milk everywhere it’s not a comfortable or discrete breast pump it’s kinda loud and bulky

Hi Lorna, thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

I am disappointed to hear that you aren't having the best experience with our wearable breast pump as this is not what we would expect.

This has been designed to be as discreet and convenient as possible and although there a few parts, w
e have been told by other customers that taking the pump apart and putting it back together becomes second nature after a few times.

If you do need help and advice on getting the most out of your pump please reach out to our team via live chat, Facebook or call us on 1-800-715-9526 as we would really love to help.

Warm wishes,
Tommee Tippee.

The WORST breast pump EVER. FALSE ADVERTISING to state on the website and product “constant comfort”. It is NOT! Even the lowest setting feels like my areoles are coming off! Nowhere CLOSE to mimicking a babies suckling! Call the customer service number just to be redirected to a dial tone. How can I get on a class action lawsuit for false advertising and discomfort in addition to lack of resolution??

This is not returnable so I’ve wasted over $200 on a non working pump that hurts people!! This is ridiculous and I’m NEVER purchasing anything from your brand ever again. The only good reviews are from a promotion and the rest are honest people saying this caused bleeding and pain.

I definitely should have read reviews before buying! I bought from Walmart because my pump battery went out and I needed another pump asap. I chose this one thinking it was a good one. I was wrong . It hurts, but also I cannot get any milk out from either side.. I would set the timer to 30 minutes and it didn’t matter what timer I put it on, it would always forcefully stop around the last 7 minutes , the bottles are never full, not even close to full, I had to hand express and use a Hakka as well to get all the milk out. Walmart will not let me return. Waste of money!

I have tried to use the pump several times and every time I use it I feel like my nipples are being sucked off. On top of that trying to poor the milk into a storage bag is virtually impossible to get it all out. Yes you may be able to feed straight from the pump but my baby doesn’t like the tommee tippee nipples (didn’t know before purchasing). I wish I had done some research into the different pumps before buying this one. Tommee tippee your brand helped me so much with my daughter but not so much for my son. Thank you for trying but this pump just hurts me instead of helps me.

This is the worst pump ever! I regret getting this pump. I bought this pump because my previous cheaper pumps broke. Believe it or not, the cheaper pump was so much more effective and I was able to fully empty my breasts. I don't know what I was thinking in getting the Tomee Tippee Breast pump! Not only are they on the slightly expensive side, my insurance didn't cover the costs and now I am stuck with these awful pumps that I will not be using. As it is I am trying to increase my milk supply and this pump is going to make things worse. I am truly disappointed and upset!

This is the worst pump I have had. My other pump broke (momcozy) and I had to have one for work the next day. I went to Walmart and got it for $300. It is extremely painful and I normally produce 12 oz in a session and I got 3 oz with this in the same time. My breasts were still left engorged and full of milk. I do not recommend this pump to anyone at all!

Waste of money which is NOT clear about any kind of return. You cannot return it. I have experimented with the different sized funnels provided as the smaller one is quite painful for me no matter my position. It doesn't fit well into the nursing bras I use which are quite supportive. I have tried numerous sessions with this to see if there is simply a learning curve. I continuously have had to reposition them due to comfort or in an attempt to get a better yield. I get less with this pump than I do others I have used. The milk container is also very poorly designed. You cannot easily collect all of the milk without a syringe which is extremely inconvenient. I actually prefer the pump that I have which isn't hands free

Pump works well I use 28mm nipples an am able to mostly empty out. My own complaint is not being able to purchase the collectors cups anywhere as it comes with 4 but my 4 all have gotten holes on corner to the point where I am unable to use them to pump and leak everywhere. This is a deal breaker for me as the pump itself cost $300 with no option to order on site. It was also difficult to navigate through customer service as I asked for a call back and rep was able to order two for me and she was a great very helpful said they would be to my home in 10 days where as chat the rep seemed like he didn’t want to order them for me when the product came with four and I have no not damaged collectors cups and worry about bacteria for my infant, I truly love the pump and the different settings this just discouraged me. Hope this helps another moms.

This is going to be a long one but I know how hard it is to decide on a pump when it seems like they all have wildly mixed reviews. I tried to think of all the pros/cons/considerations that I have experienced and some of the tips from my background as a healthcare provider that made this pump work for me! Firstly, I’m both surprised and not surprised to see so many negative reviews on this product. I’m surprised because it is probably the most comparable pump to the Willow in terms of function and Elvie in terms of design and appearance. Since the willow and elvie are regarded as the cool kids of pumps, I thought more people would be eager to use this. On the other hand, I am not surprised by the reviewers who have experienced pain and discomfort. This is a common issue with the willow and this pump because they both use constant suction. This means the suction on the nipple isn't fully released during the cycle which in my opinion, is very effective ****BUT****… you must must must have a properly sized flange, a supportive/well-fitting bra, and some patience during the adjustment period. I found out the hard way that pumping with a flange that is too big or too small can be incredibly painful. I have a large bust to begin with and didn't consider myself to have small nipples, I always thought I was average. However, I measure at 13mm during the early months of breastfeeding and max out around 15-17mm inserts. If I use the standard 24mm flange that comes with most pumps, IT HURTS! With a flange that is too large, too much of your nipple and aerola get pulled into the tunnel. This puts undue stress on the nipple and tissues which not only leads to pain, but incomplete emptying and in turn, decreased supply over time (your body produces milk based on supply and demand. If you are consistently not emptying your breasts, your hormones respond accordingly to tell your body that you need to lower production. Incomplete emptying sends the signal that you are producing too much milk). Signs that your flange is not correctly sized include nipple pain, peeling, cracking, bruising, etc. All the signs of a poor latch also apply to flange. Back to my original point about flange size and pain, I will give you this example. Using this pump on level 1 and 2 with the 24mm flanges is uncomfortable and I get a lot of nerve stimulation and pain (also common with the willow). When I remove the pump, even on the lowest suction levels, my nipples are swollen/enlarged, beyond what is typically expected after pumping. When I use the appropriately sized inserts that can be purchased on amazon for cheap, I can turn any of my pumps up to their max setting without experiencing pain. I don’t recommend pumping at max suction, but my overall point is that the highest suction with the appropriate flange is much more comfortable than the incorrect size even at the lowest setting. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but definitely give inserts a try before throwing in the towel on this or any other pump :). For accurate measuring, I used a sewing guage with the slider because I was able to buy it at my local craft/sewing store. You can also print sizer guides from the internet. Pros: - Very quiet in terms of my other pumps. If you are looking for a pump that won’t sound like industrial machinery attached to your chest, this is a great option. - Leak resistant: I can comfortably recline and move around without leaking when this is properly positioned in a well fitting bra. I don't use the strap extenders this comes with, I use a stretchy nursing sports bra which works the best for me. If you are looking for the freedom to move around without leaking, a well-fitting, full coverage nursing bra is not the place to skimp! If I wear this with some of my more stretched out bras, the positioning is a lot more finicky and annoying. -Dual charger/y-split charger: this is such a stupid thing to be excited about, but it really is so convenient. My poor power strip is overloaded with plugs from my wall pump, laptop, phone, and all the other things that need to be powered and within reach when using my traditional plug-in pump. The split cable allows you to charge both motor units using one plug. I haven't noticed any significant difference in charging times when charging a single pump vs. double pump. -alignment light: for me this is not a huge pro because the 15mm sizers I use decrease my margin of error for alignment issues. I don’t find myself relying on this feature but it is very nice for those middle of the night pumps when you wake up from a deep sleep and aren’t entirely sure who you are or what year it is. My husband loves this feature, although he doesn’t even know it exists. It allows me to position my pump and the app allows me to control the pump without me having to turn all the lights on at 2am. -international power/plug adapters: I imagine the different plugs are included because this product is sold internationally, but I consider this a benefit I didn’t even know about. We will be travelling to visit family internationally this Christmas and I didn’t even consider I would need adapters for my pumps. By default, this pump will definitely be coming with me. suction levels: this can be either a pro or a con. For myself, I am exclusively pumping for multiples. In order to maintain a supply of 3L or 100oz a day, I need hospital grade suction for power pumping sessions. Since I have to produce so much and pump so often, being tethered to a wall was not an option for me. This started my deep dive into the world of wearable pumps (I’ve used willow, elvie, bella baby, momcozy, legendairy, cheap amazon brands. I’ve tried at least 10+ wearables at this point). In terms of suction, the max mmHg on this pump are much higher than the other pumps I’ve tried. This is a pro for me for the times that I need to pump super rapidly, however I would cautiont that you be cognizant and careful when using this one. The high suction can certainly cause nipple trauma/damage if you don’t have the correct flange fit and nipple alignment. Definitely pay attention to your body and adjust accordingly if you experience pain/discomfort. Cons: -the motor units are quite large and not as sleek as others on the market. Personally, I don't mind this because no pump looks discreet on me. Anything I use looks like I'm smuggling two soda cans in my bra. However, if you are looking for a more stealth profile, this might not be the one for you. -App integration: the app control is nice but it would be much more efficient if you had the option to control both pumps from the same page. I thought you could toggle betwween the "L" and "R" button on the same page to switch back and forth but it appears that is not the case. It is a little annoying having to click into one pump, click to adjust the settings, go back to that pump's Home Screen, go to the main Home Screen, click the second pump and so on. Also, as someone who likes my pumps to be synchronous, it sometimes irritates me when they aren't timed perfectly. Not a deal breaker for me but I would love to see the app improve in the future. Other considerations (neither a pro or con, just some things I want more info on or things to think about): -replacement parts: Full disclosure, I haven’t put in much effort to look for replacement parts or inquire about the cost. However, I did not see any available for purchase with a simple google search. It appears that replacement parts are not as easily obtained as other commercially available pumps (I’m in the US so this may be different depending on your location). -flange sizes: this one is neutral for me because I have yet to find a brand that makes 13-17 mm stand alone flanges, even my willow requires sizing inserts. However, if you don’t want an extra piece to clean and keep track of, it would be nice to have a broader range of horn/flanges readily available for purchase -charging: due to the large circular piece of the horn/flange, the pump has to be disassembled to access the charging port. Again, this isn’t a deal breaker for me but these kinds of user friendly features can differentiate a good product from a great product. -container capacity: each container holds 150ml or 5oz. I am pumping for multiples so I guess I would be considered an oversupplier or high supplier. It would be nice to see a container that can hold more than 5oz for those who need it. Again, for full transparency, I have not put in much effort beyond a google and amazon search to see if they have alternative or compatible containers Final thoughts: Overall I really like this pump and it is a great option if you have been interested in the Willow but aren’t ready or able to spend so much money. It’s still on the pricier side compared to some of the other popular brands, but I think the features and technology you get with this pump are well worth the money if you know what to expect. I am impressed with this pump and I’m debating trying the made for me double electric pump to see if the petal technology is another innovative idea not seen in run of the mill pumps. Best of luck to you all!

Hi Cassie,

You're right, this is a long one but a great one with so much helpful information!
We welcome all kinds of reviews and honestly, the more details the better so we can ensure are customers are having the best experience and can provide support where this is needed.

We really want to tha
nk you for the time you have taken to not only review our Made for Me Wearable Breast Pump but to share your personal experience and expertise as I know so many parents will find the information you have provided invaluable.

We are delighted to hear that you love this product and are interested in our other Made for Me pumps. It's amazing to be compared to such brilliant brands as Elvie and Willow and we do feel that our pump is a strong contender for the cool kids club.

We love your in depth and precise break down of some of the features and benefits of the pump but especially how you have highlighted the importance of the correct size flange as this does seem to be where we receive a lot of contact.

No mom should feel pain when they are trying to express but if this is the case, we would recommend checking out our super helpful online size guide to ensure you have the perfect flange for you: https://www.tommeetippee.com/en-gb/parent-room/how-to-measure-your-nipples-for-your-breast-pump-flange.

As well as this, we offer a free lactation specialist service for anyone who is struggling and all you need to do is reach out to our team via live chat, Facebook or call on: 1-800-715-9526.

Your sewing gauge hack is amazing, I am sure other moms will be so pleased that you have shared this brilliant idea! We might even pinch this ourselves to share with our customers. However, do watch this space as a sizing guide is something we're working and hoping to include in our future packs to make it one less step for moms!

There is so much choice that it may feel a little daunting when looking for the right bra to wear with your pumps, we have included an in-bra adjuster but we appreciate you sharing your personal experience and choice as I am sure this may be the right fit for some other moms too.

You have mentioned spare parts being readily available and I am delighted to let you know that you can order many of the parts directly from our web site completely free of charge! You can do that here: https://www.tommeetippee.com/en-us/product/made-for-me-wearable-breast-pumps.

It's wonderful to hear that your husband loves this pump and the alignment light feature even f he doesn't know it exists. I wonder how many husbands are in the same boat as him without knowing it too... the mind boggles.

We will of course work on all of your feedback and recommendations such as the possibility of larger collectors as this type of feedback really helps us to improve our customer experience.

Again, thank you for all the time you have put in to providing such amazing and informative feedback.

Wishing you all the best,

Got this pump in a pinch as my other pump motor broke and spent $300 at Walmart just for the pump to not pull out any milk, painful, and discouraging. I thought my supply dropped but the pump doesn’t pull any milk out. Definitely do not waste your money on this. I got more milk from a $13 Hakkaa which is silicone!!

I wish I read all reviews before buying it. I got it from Walmart few days ago. When I tried to get milk out it doesn’t pull any milk out at all :( I get 5-6 oz in one pump with other pump - but it is not wearable. I liked idea but it is not working. Just wasted $300 since I can’t return it (I wish store had any info on it before I bought it :( )

My fiancé just bought this for me and my infant that was literally born less than two weeks ago. I walk out of the Walmart super excited to use it and as soon as I put it on my nipple, it starts yanking on it and bruising it and I’m bleeding now. I’m literally in tears because my nipples are hurting so bad I thought maybe it was the way I put it on them and I hope that I’m able to return this item because if not then I just wasted $300. I usually use Dr. Brown’s but I was thinking about changing over to Tommee Tippee Now I don’t think I will be switching and I will definitely stick to Dr. Brown’s and Medela. Also, could not get all of the milk out of the collection cup.

Please save your money. My supply has gone down since using. I feel it doesn’t empty my breast either so that’s strange. Also a good amount of milk stays in the milk collector. So Tommee Tippee advise me to use a syringe to get the remaining milk out. What an inconvenience. You will not get a refund so make sure you’re sure of making this purchase. Save your money !!!

It is like a Venus fly trap! Seriously so so so disappointed with this pump. I'm devastated, such a wasted purchase that can't be returned. They are so big, but I wouldn't care as much if they simply worked! It doesn't empty me and is VERY painful even at the lowest setting. How is this even allowed to be on the market when it can hurt people so badly? I've breast fed and pumped for 4 babies and used multiple brands pumps and I've never been injured from pumping!!!!! It has badly bruised my nipples and made them bleed. The app was also very annoying as it is difficult to pair them to your phone and I'd need to repair them for each session. Please save your money and your nipples!
