We got a lot of help and support from David when choosing our furniture and the delivery and assembly were quick and efficient. Delighted with what we bought. Highly recommended.

We had been and looked at furniture in the big name stores and were looking for a solid wooden bed frame. We remembered this store so went to have a look. They had the same design we had seen in the big name store but better constructed and on offer at a cheaper price. The service was friendly and we ended up buying a couple of other things too. The order was ready for collection when we wanted with no hassle. We will definitely be visiting again and would recommend a visit before buying from anywhere else.

Allwood Furniture have a great range of quality solid wood furniture at good prices and were able to deliver in a fraction of the time of other suppliers. The goods I ordered appear very well made and could be viewed in their showroom before ordering. Unlike other companies there was no hard-sell on care products, extra guarantees or add-ons and delivery was inexpensive and at a time convenient to me. The goods were well packaged and the company removed and recycled the packaging. All in all I have been pleased with my purchase.

We ordered some furniture and it came damaged. The drivers were dismissive "we'll send you some filler to cover it". It never came and when we requested it be email we were sent some pathetic dried up blob in an envelope.

What a joke and i can't believe all these reviews are genuine!

We needed quite a bit of furniture for a barn conversion and after reviewing a number of oak furniture suppliers decided on Allwood.
Customer service and price is important to us and although we visited the big stores, such as Oak Furniture Land,we were confused by their pricing and constant sales and not impressed by the customer reviews of their service. They felt like a marketing and selling machine and all the glossy stores and advertising has to be paid by someone!
Allwood are pretty small in comparison and perhaps as a result we were able to get good prices, about ten percent lower than the big stores. More importantly , they turned up on the day promised , kept us informed of their arrival times and moved and built all the furniture for us. David, Tom and Trevor( I think that is their total team) were great throughout.

Allwood furniture provide a level of quality and a standard of service that put the likes of Harvey's and Sofa Works to shame (I know, unfortunately). We ordered a couple of things and were so impressed we went on to order more, and then more as we started on another room. The furniture is very good quality and looks and feels a lot more expensive than it actually was.

The website is clear and the pictures are a very accurate representation of what is received. The ordering process is simple and straightforward. We order many different items all on different delivery times and were kept up to date on the status and the deliveries were consolidated into convenient deliveries.

I can't praise them enough and won't ever look elsewhere again.

I ordered a bookcase, it was at a very reasonable price, came flat pack and was easy to assemble. Good quality, the delivery tracking service was first class

I went to Allwood Furniture as i liked the look of there furniture, David the manager was very helpfull, i furnished my whole house from Allwood Furniture, they came on the day that was aranged and were very pleasant and helpfull, i was very satisfied with the build qaulity, and the look of there furniture is perfect, i would have no hesitation in buying from there again

An excellent company to buy from the product arrived just as intimated extremely well packaged so as to avoid any damage in transit.

The shop staff were helpful and courteous and made ordering the furniture simple and straight forward, as was the payment. The delivery was on the scheduled day and we were contacted 30 minutes before arrival as we were leaving from work to take delivery.
The delivery men were careful, efficient and pleasant and placed the furniture where indicated. They removed all the wrapping and protective devices, which they took away with them as agreed when we placed our order. There were no missing parts or damage.
All too often people are quick to complain but not as quick to compliment! We are delighted with our furniture and would not hesitate to order from this company again.

Really pleased with Knightsbridge chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. Good price, delivery on Saturday.

After a previous good experience purchasing a king size bed frame from Allwood in 2013, we returned in 2014 to buy a matching wardrobe, two chests of drawers and two bedside tables. The sales experience, with [Name] as our salesman, went smoothly and there was no pressure in store.

3 weeks later when the furniture was delivered, Allwood contractors built the wardrobe for us and I unpacked the remaining items when they'd left. On inspection there were quality issues with:

- the wardrobe (top lip had two small indents and the drawer wouldn't open/close),
- both chest of drawers (each chest had a drawer which had a saw snag on the leading front edge)

despite them being packaged extremely well. Both bedside tables were OK.

On phoning to report the issues, [Name] said he'd pop around and take a look at and rectify the problems. I was at work when [Name] visited but had a phone call from my wife to inform me that [Name] proposed solution was to fill the defects. She did inform him that this wouldn't be acceptable but he went ahead and did it. Photos are available here:

On returning home from work, I phoned [Name] again who assured me that as this was natural wood, blemishes were to be expected and that filler was an acceptable solution. Our issues weren't blemishes though but manufacturing defects. Eventually [Name] agreed to replace the two drawers and wardrobe lid with new items.

We had to wait another 2 weeks for the items to arrive and the quality of the replacements were acceptable. However when inspecting the wardrobe after [Name] had fitted the lid and left, I now noticed that the main body of the wardrobe had filler in it. Obviously when fitting the lid it had been chipped and so [Name] filled it without mentioning it to us. Poor form and extremely annoying.

Another phone call and [Name] agreed to replace the main body of the wardrobe but he was on holiday next week so I'd have to ring him back after that to arrange.

In conclusion, its taken two months from us placing the order to receiving goods of satisfactory quality and numerous phone calls and emails to resolve. On their last visit Allwood still claim that filling defects in brand new furniture is acceptable. I'm not normally one to post reviews and I do so with regret. We like to support local businesses and had such a good first experience with them.

They also operate fake sales. Nothing is reduced in store until you ask. At which point you're given a special price to entice you to purchase (12% discount) which just so happens to match the prices they sell for on their sister site [Links]

Having seen three small sideboards, on the website, that I liked. I contacted them for advice on which were in stock. My husband and I went to have a look at the show room and were lucky enough to able to bring the one we liked the best home with us as it was a stock item. The staff were helpful, without being pushy and even helped us to load it into the car. All the furniture we saw there was of good quality and competitively priced. We would definitely go again should we need anything.

I am very pleased with recent orders. It was brilliant the way all the staff at the company handled my concerns. There were no problems with delivery and the items were here when they were expected. It is appreciated that every one of the staff handled the transactions in a caring and professional manner.

Allwood Furniture have a refreshing approach - they actually provide customer service as opposed to talking about it. The furniture itself is high quality, the price is very reasonable, the delivery service is very good, and the after sales care is what one requires.
What you see on the main website and the associated Paylessforfurniture website is what you get. We were also able to visit the showroom and that was worthwhile too.
Staff are very helpful and friendly, so well done to all at Allwood.

I will definitely buy from this company again! I ordered a table which was delivered within 10days- amazing! The exact table was for sale in HARVEY'S £300 more expensive with a 7-8week wait for delivery. All wood staff very helpful. The delivery men(Tom & colleague, who's name I've forgotten-sorry!) we're so pleasant and helpful too. 10/10 ALLWOOD. Diolch yn fawr iawn.
