Wayne was a really nice staff member, was clear in the explanation and very welcoming. Overall nice check in experience but a bit too slow, we waited about 40min before being served

My booking was through EasyJet, due to my flight delay, I was unable to arrive within the hour of my booking. I was mandated to pay an extra £180 for an automatic car. Rental assistant kept stating the T&C even though I could prove my flight was delayed. Exasperating. Do not use this company and EasyJet were unhelpful too, kept waiting on the phone for 45mins trying to resolve. Avoid car rental with Drivalia and EasyJet.

I would not recommend Drivalia.
I booked through the UK website, but when I arrived to collect the car, I was accused of booking through the US website using a VPN, which was completely false. I live in Italian and have an italian phone/number! I PAID IN POUNDS.
As a result, I was forced to pay an additional £175 for mandatory CDW cover, more than the cost of my original booking. There was no mention of this charge during the booking process, and even the staff member at the desk confirmed it wasn't shown on my reservation.
I submitted a complaint with EVIDENCE that my booking was made through the UK website and screenshots of Drivalia's own policy stating that Basic CDW is included for UK bookings. Despite this, they simply repeated that my booking was made through a "US source" but provided no evidence to support that claim and refused a refund.
Misleading pricing and poor customer service. I won't be using Drivalia again.

Drivalia is cheap car rental! However there are things you should know. First they will do everything to sell you the extra (expensive)insurance, if you do not take it the excess is 1,500 pounds. This is reserved from your credit card and not released for 30 days so if you need your credit card and don't have a huge limit on your card you may not be able to use it for 30 days. If you have to drop off the vehicle outside of opening hours then you have to pay 40 pound to drop off the key in a letterbox (nobody meets you), you then need to book a taxi or walk to the airport.
Update on this review I returned the car on Sunday morning st 07:30 having paid the out of office charge i left the car there.
When I received the check in report they noticed a very tiny chip in the windscreen which would be repaired for free for this they have deducted 1.500 pound from my credit card.
Thankyou for your answer I did this yesterday and have heard nothing as of yet

I use these guys all the time, and it’s never been any different for 4 years now.
Zac is always great and makes picking up the motor easy. Even though they’re cheaper than a the rest I’ve never had any issues dropping cars back like some of their competitors!

Overall a great experience. First car I received had an issue with the wheel which could have been spotted before collection; however it was quickly resolved and I was upgraded into a better vehicle.
I had a long hire and second vehicle was great. No issues at all.
Pick and drop off was smooth, and very friendly staff
Collected from Luton and dropped at Heathrow. Would recommend.

I have a car rental booked with Drivalia for a holiday that’s 2 days away and I have been trying to contact them to clarify an important matter regarding my booking. I’ve called multiple times and waited over 25 minutes on the line without getting through. I specifically selected the option to be connected to the London Heathrow branch, but still had no success.
I find this extremely disappointing and poor customer service. A telephone number is provided on the booking confirmation, but what is the point of providing a contact number if customers cannot actually speak to anyone when they need help? I appreciate that they can be busy, but repeatedly waiting over 25 minutes with no response is unacceptable and has already left me with a poor impression of Drivalia before my holiday has even started.

I have used Drivalia previously and, until this rental, my experiences had generally been positive. Unfortunately, this occasion left a sour taste.
I booked a Honda CR-V Hybrid or similar from Heathrow but was supplied with a much smaller Peugeot 2008 that was not a hybrid and could not properly accommodate our luggage. The vehicle also had extensive cosmetic damage and had not been cleaned to the standard expected for a rental costing more than £800.
More seriously, once we reached our destination, the rear passenger door dropped when opened and would not close unless it was physically lifted back into position. I reported this by email on the day of collection but received no response. I then had to arrange an exchange at the Manchester branch, resulting in an unnecessary 204 km return journey, around three and a half hours of additional driving and extra fuel costs during an already difficult family visit for a bereavement.
The Manchester team were courteous and helpful, although the replacement vehicle was still not a hybrid and was manual.
The complaint resolution was also disappointing. I was offered a 15% discount using the code SAVE15, but this was already a public promotion available to all customers. I was also told that a free upgrade would be provided on my next rental, only for Customer Service later to qualify this as subject to fleet availability and rates.
I had previously been happy to use Drivalia and gave them the opportunity to retain my future business with a reasonable goodwill resolution. Unfortunately, the handling of this complaint and the lack of a meaningful remedy mean I will now book elsewhere.
UPDATE – Following Drivalia’s response below:
Drivalia has asked me to contact them through the Manage My Booking portal so they can “fully investigate” the matter. Unfortunately, that is the process I had already followed before posting this review. The complaint had already been investigated, responded to and marked CLOSED by Drivalia. I subsequently escalated the matter again to UK Customer Service, who confirmed that they were unable to offer any additional goodwill gesture or further discount.
I therefore find the public response below somewhat disappointing, as it gives the impression that Drivalia is inviting me to engage in a further investigation when I have already completed that process and been given their final position.
