Failed Appointment, No Stock & Poor Communication
Booked a mobile dash cam fitting on 22 May for 27 May between 8am–8pm. On the day, the tracking app never updated so we called customer services and were advised the fitter would arrive around 5–5:30pm.
The fitter instead arrived around 2:30pm and explained that the dash cams we originally purchased were not in stock. We were offered either a downgraded model without the mobile connectivity features we specifically wanted, or a more expensive upgrade. Due to needing the installation completed urgently, we agreed to the more expensive option.
The fitter himself was polite and professional throughout, however we were then informed that none of the replacement cameras were actually available either and that the appointment could not go ahead at all.
The most frustrating part is that this could have been communicated long before the appointment day. Had we simply been told the product was not in stock beforehand, we could have rearranged plans accordingly rather than waiting in all day and reorganising other important appointments unnecessarily to accommodate the booking.
The app/order tracker still showed no updates and we received no communication explaining the next steps. The following morning, the order tracker incorrectly showed the appointment as “complete”.
We also attempted to use the online complaints procedure, however the complaints page was returning a 403 error and would not load. We therefore called customer services and spoke to a lady who was also very understanding and helpful. We explained the situation and asked whether Halfords would consider fitting the upgraded camera at no additional charge due to the inconvenience caused. After speaking to “the hub”, she advised they said no to this proposal and didn't offer anything at all in light of the poor service and inconvenience. She apologised further and asked if we wanted a refund.
We accepted the refund and will now be arranging installation elsewhere, although even the refund is expected to take 3–5 days.
Both the fitter and customer service advisor we spoke to were lovely and professional, but unfortunately the overall experience was extremely disappointing due to the lack of communication, stock issues, inaccurate information, failed appointment and a complete lack of resolution. Would not recommend.

Do Not Use Mobile Halfords
Unfortunately do not use Halfords Mobile most of the mechanics are not trained and honestly not fit to do the job. One came to replace my battery he broke the ecu mount and battery casing , blew fuses etc then said sorry about that . Another mechanic from Halfords came out and criticised what the other one had done however car was locked in eco due to fuses . His manager was meant to call me back never has . Just avoid Halfords mobile

Managed to pick up a puncture just…
Managed to pick up a puncture just before the holiday weekend and was deluged by choice of 'mobile tyre fitters' 'mobile tyre repairers' 'mobile tyre experts' but one name shone out - Halfords . . . despite blistering heat, our fitter arrived, calling before to ensure all was OK and he performed superbly - switching out the busted tyre (and, recycling!), switching in the brand new tyre, balancing and leaving everything spic and span - top service and a top guy! Highly recommended . . .
The Halford fitters unskilled
The Halford fitters don't seem to be particularly skilled, or have much common sense. For example, the first fitting of my dashcam the guy disconnected my car's reversing camera and removed its cable! After the most recent refitting of the dashcam, which has now fallen off 3 times, it fell off the windscreen after 3 days. I found there was paper on the sticky pad the guy had used! How was that ever going to stay attached?

Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. I ordered four tyres with a 20% discount and free fitting. The mobile technician arrived but couldn’t complete the job due to not having the correct tools. Customer care advised me incorrectly that I could take the tyres to an autocentre and reclaim the fitting cost.
After the technician left the tyres with me, the autocentre refused to fit them, stating they only work on “supply and fit” jobs. I am now left sourcing an independent garage and hoping Halfords will honour the reimbursement they promised.
This process has been inconvenient, misleading, and far below the standard expected

Did not finish the job
Had 4 tyres fitted on my drive by the Leeds depot. As soon as I started driving the car it was obvious something was wrong. Car was wobbling and vibrating. Immediately took it to a garage who found that the tyres had not been balanced. Halfords left my car in an unsafe state and did not finish the job. Uncaring and reckless behaviour that could have had serious consequences for me.

Nextbase IQ 4K dash cam QR code not showing
Chris the Halfords Poole mobile expert, arrived on time. He fitted the Nextbase IQ 4k in about 20 minutes. However he did not install the app in step 1. So he left the dash cam (DC) with rotating arrows on the DC. This meant no QR code showed.
I had to reset the DC and eventually (1 hour) got the software and DC working with the help of the AI agent.
Halfords should train their mobility experts to do a complete job, not leave the 'technical bit' to be completed by the customer (with the assistance of the manufacturer).

£375 SCAM FROM HALFORDS!
Extremely disappointing service, I have contacted several times regarding the mobile fitting appointment for my Nextbase iQ 2K dash cam, unfortunately the installation appears to have been left incomplete, as the dash cam does not power on at all. Before leaving, the fitter repeatedly assured me that everything was fully completed and told me that I only needed to scan the QR code on the box once I went inside my home. However, despite multiple attempts and leaving the car running for several hours, the dash cam still has not turned on. I asked the fitter several times to confirm the installation was fully complete because this device is extremely important for me and my family. The fitter appeared to be in a significant rush, spent only a very short amount of time working on the vehicle, and left immediately. I also attempted to call him afterwards, but my calls were not answered. I paid £75 for a professional mobile fitting service, so I am extremely disappointed that the dash cam remains unusable after installation. I was urging for a follow-up inspection as soon as possible, another fitter being arranged if necessary, confirmation that the hardwire installation and power connection had been completed correctly, horrifically unprofessional!
