What a waste of time, ilok just keeps disappearing and I've lost a whole lot of plugins. I think this is a big scam by the audio companies, so they're not responsible when things go wrong.

Ilok as in I want to lock my balls in a vice after installing it. Give me access to the softwar I've purchased

Cubase updates and iLok decides to let all licenses through except 1, which is telling me I've changed the hardware (I haven't). I then get instructions from Pace about stopping the iLok process which does not work, producing a Window error. From this point onwards I will not buy a product linked to iLok. This thing is a nightmare.

To be quite frank, after paying for all your VST's, your DAW and then having to buy an ilok, you would assume it would be easier to use right? Well, iLok is in place for anti-piracy and they state that it is easier to use. Never in my life have I used such a restrictive technology and that's saying a lot considering I'm an apple user. By locking your own users out of the eco system and creating such a convoluted and expensive point of entry ensures that you're actually promoting piracy as opposed to preventing it - not sure if you guys have ever used your own software or ever asked for feedback on your products. Once quick online search will confirm for you the public perception of iLok.

In short, it's a cash grab scam and a huge waste of time. It doesn't actually prevent piracy and in fact promotes it - weird times we live in. I can't see a benefit in recommending this to anyone, which really is a shame as we do want to support the companies that make these VST's - we engineers and producers just don't want to use this archaic, intrusive, convoluted and quite frankly inane iLok system.

iLok holds you hostage to replace lost iLoks , it's very losable usb drive. iLok is not laptop friendly, It is meant to plug a usb port forever and get broken off/bent
ILok is a PITA!!!!

iLok is garbage and a scam! It stopped working. Now they want me to pay 49.95 for a new iLok in order to use software which I have previously purchased! I was going to buy some new plug ins but since it uses iLok... forget it!

The license manager stopped working. Couldn't use my plugins. Had to contact support and uninstall and reinstall the software again to get it working. And signing in takes long too. Nothing but bad to say. Makes me consider to go to some shady site to find a version of the plugins that I've bought but that doesn't require iLok to work. Oh, and hey, support also told me to remove anti-virus software because it's known to interfere with their installer. How about they fixed their software instead? I can't really blame AV companies for flagging it as malware because that's what it really is...

This is cancer not a software. This is attached to plugins and now you cant sell them and most time use them. it frustrating to the point you starting to hate companies that decide to save their vst with this i lok cancer. how many people lost health why trying to use their plugins when this cancer is attached to them and unable to use them and even when you want to move the plugins at another computer you have limit and must personally contant with companies that allow this cancer i lok to make functional your software on your new computer. i am at position when i never taking even a free plugin if it is related to this s###t and never using that already related to ilok. never. they should pay me for my nerves and unability to sell my software that i buyed from other companies. this s###t is worst

So many great softwares ruined by Ilok.. It's gotten to the point where if I buy a plugin / software that requires ilok for the liscense, I'll simply refund my purchase. Ilok constantly freezes, signs you out, ect... Sometimes I wish the parents of whoever invented Ilok never met so I wouldn't have to deal with this absolute abomination of a software.

After using iLok license manager for years, I've finally decided to write a review so I can tell other people to avoid it. Unfortunately some of my plug-ins use iLok to confirm my activations. This software constantly disconnects from the cloud session, which freezes my DAW and I have to reopen my session. I run updates whenever they're available, but it doesn't matter. This issue has been happening for years. When iLok is doing maintenance, their servers are sometimes down for 24 hours, meaning you can't use any of the plug-ins that you've paid for for that amount of time. Often times the software won't even open, or it will randomly close and I have to reopen and log back in. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and this issue has even persisted across different PCs. If I'm trying to open a session in my DAW and one of my plug-ins that uses iLok was used in the session, it won't let me open the session at all until my iLok cloud session is open, which is a hit or miss. As someone who has been a software developer for over 6 years, I can say that the developers of iLok should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such a bad product to reach production. I shouldn't have to stop my tracking/mixing session just to close and reopen iLok to get my DAW working again. It's the only piece of software that I use related to music production that I have constant issues with. I will never purchase any software again if it uses iLok License Activation.

Absolute Garbage, can't activate anything because of this failing rubbish, Plus it uses recaptcha. Boycott companies who use this Garbage.

Utter garbage scamware that prevents paying customers from using their software.

Lesson learned, I'll do my research before buying another product that uses ilok. Never again!

I've never evenheard of ilok yet I just got an email from them concerning a password change request that I never asked for. Something is very messed up with them.

Cant believe how bad this software is . Zero downtime ? Where to start: Cant transfer licenses, cant deactivate licenses, cant activate licenses. Cant access the software portal of the company that uses ilok to "activate licenses" I am sure I have written a bad review about this before , but this licensing system is literally the worst. I am stuck now an unable to access software which I have paid for.

Buggy software. Creates bogus locations and traps your licenses. Then you need to email each software provider INDIVIDUALLY. iLok does SWEET FA even though their stupid, idiotic buggy software is at fault.

I would give 0 stars but it wasn't an option.

iLok is perhaps the best example of what is wrong with today's tech industry. Random outages, no contact information on their site, no direct recourse for users, and when their servers go down they essentially hold an entire industry hostage of tools that were ALREADY BOUGHT AND PAID FOR. Hell, today I couldn't log in during the middle of a session and their support page was also down. Even funnier, is although you won't find an email address for support on their website, somehow this review site has the email address. So I guess they'll see this?They provide no value as a "service" and simply should not exist.

Further, it should be illegal for PACE/iLok to use the phrase "Zero Downtime" in any marketing strategy; it's like a steakhouse advertising itself as vegan-friendly. Absolute joke of a company.

I absolutely hate iLok with a passion. It's the most cumbersome, inconvenient piece of crap that destroys any sense of joy because I simply cannot open and use programs or plugins because it just doesn't work! Why on earth do companies like Avid use this outdated dinosaur security in 2023?! It's the worst.
