I HATE iLok. It must be the worst thing that has ever happened to humanity. To use my Other programs, that I have PAID for, I first have to make this piece of s..t (iLok) work. It never does. So in the end, I have to use a lot of my time trying to get iLok to work, instead of just using the program I paid a lot of money for. iLok should be labeled "an enemy of human kind".

I have never met anyone with anything good to say about ILOK.

Dreadful software with multiple issues that have NO support information on their website. No contact number as well. With such intricate problems that can occur with any complex software, they need a HUMAN BEING to speak to, I shouldn't have to resort to Reddit or a friend.

It seems like a good idea until you need to upgrade your computer; I mean, that NEVER happens, right? Then any licenses tied to that computer are lost. I can download the software to the new computer, but it makes you continue storing the licenses on the old computer. Good grief, this is some seriously dumb logic.

Trash product.
I lost my computer, and iLok does not allow me to transfer my licenses to the new computer.
They say I should contact the support, but they don't provide any way for me to contact their support.

Don't buy any product that has any connection with iLok.

Never again. Regaining licenses is too poor, slow or sometimes too expansive. ILok USB device is also not very durable - too easy to break. Steam/Kontakt like service would be much fair and safer.

The ilok cloud recognizes ONE PC and not my other New PC and I have NO WAY of getting the ilok.com sign on to "link" my New PC. Been having issues with ILOK since 1 year ago. The WORST way of handling license EVER!!
ProTools and AKAI, please MOVE AWAY from this method of licensing! I have stopped using Akai products just because of this. Throwing away MPC 2.0 MPC Beats and all it's VSTs and moving over to Ableton, Gig Performer.

Recently purchased a VST Instrument from Acoustic Samples. It was exactly what I was looking for. Paid the $120 to get the VST, and then ................ILOK got into the picture. This has got to be the worst software I have ever encountered. Email not recognized, cant authorize what i bought,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,? I have had it with these types of outfits. Some advice to the companys that use ILOK> Wise up before your company goes out of business. Acoustic Samples, I really wanted your product, now I want my money back!!!!!! Pronto!!!!!!! You have waisted too many hours of my life.......

Fix the ridiculous server unavailable issue!!! I can't even switch from cloud to hardware ilok, i can't open pro tools!!! wt f. It's 2021 and the sever maintenance has no estimated time to finish?? Also the website ilok.com is down, oh my god

It's bad enough being strong-armed into a service with dubious value to the customer (me), but to then be presented with a gauntlet of bad UX is just demoralizing. I'm new to music production and thus iLok, but my immediate sense is that they have some legacy stranglehold that forces people to use a product they loathe. A quick scan of internet sentiment bears this out.

Three days trying to resolve ILok issues after updating to Win 10, Updated the ILok drivers and nothing but BSOD, reinstalled Win 10 7 times. I had to give up and totally reformat and go back to a fresh install of Win 7 and still messing with it to get things working right. Pretty frustrated!

cannot register because email is taken. cannot login because password is wrong, cannot recover because email address Is not known

Total scam.

I've just bought a bunch of VST plugins and programs and none of them told me that I need to use ilok. Well, all is well and good until one of the programs requires a usb key that costs 50 bucks! Why do I need to pay to gain access to the tools I've already bought! What a ripoff.

I have a Macbook. When I update it to a new version of the operational system (like from 10.15.6 to 10.15.7) iLok recognizes my machine as a NEW macbook, then I was asked to authorize again all my licenses, spending 1 authorization for each one for nothing...

So, now I have TWO Machines in my ilok account, the SAME machines. The "Old" Macbook have 3 licenses activated with different Location ID. The "New" Macbook has 0 licenses activated. BUT THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME MACHINE! This is the problem, TWO machines are not TWO different macs, they are THE SAME.

I had 3 products activated and fully working, now these products are requesting NEW AUTHORIZATION... So, do you think it’s better to activate AGAIN and WASTE 1 activation?

iLok is the worst experience ever!

I need to download ilok to verify my bundle, the updated version wasn't working/showing up so I uninstalled it and went for the older version included in the folder, in doing this it directed me to reset me pc I did this and now I can't use my pc at all it won't even boot, keep in mind I've had this pc less than a week and haven't downloaded anything that would of cause this problem such as virus I always go straight to the company website and never off a 3rd party website

If there were something lower than a star no how matter MUCH lower it is would STILL not be low enough.

I need to activate licenses for some add on software for a MIDI system. All three are installed but getting an activation code so they will work has so far consumed close to 3 hours of my time with no success.

With virtually every other software package I have ever gotten from a provider, you open and install their package, and use it. In this case Akai requires that each package be installed individually, one after another.

Then it demands use of ILok as a "license manager." Dear Akai. ILok is destroying your reputation. YOU need to manage licenses, not this pile of crap.

With all my other software I get a single activation code. I have a library of activation codes for all my software and whenever I need to contact them and verify valid ownership of their software, I enter that one code.

From the activation process for the software (trying to locate an activation code supposedly filed with iLok and never finding it) to iLock's myriad bars to entry...including demanding I turn on cookies, this whole thing has been a nightmare. My last resort...going to Akai and demanding they activate my software directly.

Rip off.

1. "ilok" dongles shipped from the US. The website doesn't tell you that.
2. Website DO NOT tell you that you will have/might need to pay Customs Duty (my delivery address was in the UK).
3. The cheapest delivery option is $50.
4. Website is dated (stuck in 2000) you can't see your licences clearly (it's cramped and overlays) due to poor interface.
5. Website checkout crashes a lot. I made 20 attempts before manage to make it work with all tricks I know.

The overall price I ended up with: $143 (incl. Duty).
And this is for something that they originally sold for $50!

I bought this dongle to have "Zero downtime" because I already had issues with their service and plugins become inactive because of that.
I don't want to be 100% online-dependent, so I bought it.

Lo and Behold! If service will be gone your ilok dongle will turn into a pumpkin in three months because it requires "re-activation" with your account and their service

That is a lot such a poor product.

Run away as fast as you can. Does I Lok read their reviews? MONEY LOOSER, What a joke.

I have downloaded the ilok interface and attempted to register. I needed to open a ticket as the link in the e mail takes me to the login page but credentials not recognised.
So unless you are logged in you can't raise a ticket so trying to go about it via this site.
Hopefully someone can contact me to help as I have just ordered a USB key which is probably going to be useless unless I can get access to my registered account.
Can someone from iLOK please contact me to assist.
