You’d get a better experience buying from Mr. Wormwood

The service was beyond shocking from start to finish. I would honestly recommend staying away at all costs! If I wasn’t after such a specific that is incredibly hard to come by these days I would have run a mile. In hindsight I feel completely ripped off. I’ve never know a business that so actively tries to drive away customers. I genuinely can’t think of one positive thing about my entire experience I was continually messed around a lied to.

They are lovely when selling you the vehicle. The car I purchased was only on the road for 4 months out of 12, it was a 7000.00 worth of rubbish. I have been waiting for reports of work done on it for 6 weeks, I have sent numerous emails with no response. I paid 1500.00 for repairs. Avoid at all costs

I personally will never buy a car from these

I personally will never buy a car from this company ever again. Please believe the bad reviews. The car i bought needed a new coolant housing unit,as it was leaking once i got home,i paid a local garage £400.00 as i wanted it done properly as i know the mechanic personally. The car looked like it had been cleaned with a mop,one of the panels wasn't in great condition either.Had to take it back to get a few bits sorted out on it,i asked for the pre delivery inspection job sheet on it,nah, nothing off them, despite the promise.I asked for the service sheet they said they'd carried out, never turned up,i called 4 times asking for it,gave up in the end. They had one chance and blew it,never again, when these reviews say avoid, they 100% mean avoid,i certainly will.

Aboslutely shocking service!!!

Aboslutely shocking service!!!

I bought a car via finance 2 weeks ago. When I rang to ask when I could collect I was told that I could collect on the 10th, asked why they told me "we have a lot of cars going out and it needs a service and an MOT", fair enough.

Shortly afterwards a check I ran on the car showed that the car has an outstanding recall (it's an offense to sell a car with outstanding recalls). I then talk to them about starting an unwind on the finance and was told Vauxhall will cover all costs and give me a courtesy car, so I rang Vauxhall and they confirmed this. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued on with the arranged collection date.

Anyway, I rang on the 9th (the day before they told me to collect) and asked if they could deliver the car to me; "yes that's not a problem, it's just in for a respray on the passanger door today as there is a small blemish on there. Ring me at 9am tomorrow and we will arrange delivery" no problem, thanks for letting me know.

9am of the original arranged date arrives and I give them a call and ask to speak to Dan (who I was dealing with from the start.); "sorry Mike, can't deliver today as the car needs a new slave cylinder (so basically the clutch is naffed) but the part is on it's way it will be repaired today."

At this point alarm bells are ringing as I had booked a day off work to collect the car, I explained this and he said the car should be ready to collecr for 5pm.

At 3pm as I am about to set off I call up and an older sounding gentleman answers the phone, I explain that Dan had told me I could come to collecr at 5pm and I just wanted to check that I could. "Yeah if Dan has said 5 it will be 5 mate" so I set off on the 2hr 40mins round trip.

When I arrived Dan had clearly forgotten that I was coming today and explained to me the wrong part had come from Vauxhall and that the right one was on it's way. (Absolute B*llocks, there is obviously a more serious fault with that car.) Explaining my displeasure at booking a day off work and losing pay etc. Dan say's to me "I mean, you can take it now if you want but we just wouldn't recommend it.".... what kind of professional company would suggest a customer drive a car away with obvious clutch issues???

I ask to look at the car and Dan very hesitantly agrees and walks me over. This is where the fun begins... the state of the car was absolutely ridiculous. The doors were covered in scratches, the rear bumper was covered in scratches and was a lighter shade red than the rest of the car, the edges of the rear passanger doors were all scratched/chipped like they'd been opened into a wall. The car was absolutely filthy, when I asked "I thought it had a respray yesterday" he pointed to a rear panel and said "Yeah just there" (he originally told me it was a belimish on a door).

I then looked at the interior, the dash was covered in a mixture of dust and dog hairs.

So I left and rang up and told Dan I didn't want the car and was going to do an unwind. He said "Yeah no worries".

So after losing my £170 day rate with work.

Spending £60 on a valet for the car I was part-exing.

Traveling a 2hr 40min round trip.

And being lied to throughout the entire process.

I didn't even get the faintest apology.

Never in my life have I been met with such a service when buying a car. I only hope their ability to process an unwind and send funds back to the broker is quicker than their ability to make road legal a car they sold 2 weeks prior.
Terrible.

I felt so reassured by Leighton car…

I felt so reassured by Leighton car sales when I bought my used Nissan Juke. They were very thorough checking the car over for me and ensuring all the jobs were completed prior to collection.
I felt able to contact them with any queries and always had a friendly response. I felt the AA breakdown cover was a great bonus. I chose to increase my warranty to 12 months at a reasonable price. Leaving me reassured to begin my journey with my new car. Steve was very helpful and explained the process clearly. I would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends. Fantastic range of cars and reasonably priced.
Thank you!!

Bad serviceRead their adverts for cars for sale…

Read their adverts for cars for sale and they looked reasonable, so I checked the reviews on trustpilot which were very good, so I went over to see a car that I liked, on seeing it and driving it,I decided this was the one, I spoke to the salesman about the car and agreed a deal, there were a few jobs needed doing on the car, but he said they would be done in 7 days and he would ring me when it was ready, no phone call, so I phoned him and he said the body shop was very busy and it was booked in on Monday, and it would be ready Tuesday, so no phone call, so I rang him to be told it was not ready and it would be ready definitely Wednesday, no phone call, so I rang and he said it was ready, so I drove over after work, and low and behold no job was done, so I spoke to another salesman who said he was not aware of the issues that needed doing and he would get them sorted, now I have no trust in this garage to do the jobs agreed by them and myself, so I would say to anyone going there be very wary of them saying they will do the jobs, and forget any phone calls to keep you up to date, there customer service is not very good, and there repair service leaves a lot to be desired, very poor overall, will be cancelling this sale.
