Order delivered incorrectly, damage to property and refused to make right the mess.
Great job done by Nick from the Loft Doctor, turned up on time every day and always left the place clean and tidy every night when finishing for the day. Great quality work.
Was a Brilliant experience, very polite and friendly and has done a brilliant job in a very timely manner work highly recommend
Very impressed with the finished result, I would definitely recommend Loft Doctor
From start to finish had no problems the whole team was brilliant.
Can't comment on the quality of their work, as an issue with the layout of our house meant that we could not go ahead with the loft conversion.
However, it has now been nearly four months since we cancelled and not only did it take two months for them to respond to our request for the return of the remainder of our £9k deposit (minus architect fees), but The Loft Doctor have decided that they can keep the remainder of the deposit due to loss of potential profits on their part. We cancelled at least seven weeks in advance, with no other costs incurred by them.
Calls, emails and texts go unanswered or unreturned. Even if something changed with our house and we were able to go ahead with a loft conversion now, we wouldn't use The Loft Doctor. Their lack of communication is shocking. I've never left a negative review before but we are at the stage where we are looking to go to the small claims court.
We had a very disappointing experience with Loft Doctor. During the survey, it was agreed that a suspended floor was the only suitable option for our Victorian property, and we were quoted £1256. However, on installation day, the wrong equipment was delivered, and we were informed of an additional £850 charge. This disruption, coupled with the refusal to honour the original quote, led us to request our deposit back.
While the team showed relative professionalism, my call with Managing Director Neil Cawthra was appallingly unprofessional. Despite initially being hopeful for a resolution, Neil resorted to shouting during the call instead of addressing the issue constructively. He was unable to articulate his point of view and accused me of talking over him. This behavior solidified my decision not to allow Loft Doctor to work on my property.
This experience reflects poorly on Loft Doctor’s values and operations. I believe it’s best to draw a line under the situation and move forward, but I cannot recommend this company based on our treatment and will share my experience to ensure others are aware of these issues.

Not a pleasant experience.
Job not done.
I found them to be a Company who have total disregard for their customers time.
They secured my business on the surveyor's (a Mr Stephen Graham) appraisal and assurance that the job was simple, could be completed in a day, and would be done within the month. I paid the deposit (a whopping 75%) and took reciept of the paperwork, which included a drawn up plan and a list of planned works. Days later, I had to chase the company (apparently the paperwork hadn't been filed properly and hadn't generated a job code) for an installation date. Date agreed, I was sent the contractual email which stated that if the loft was not completely clear, or if any of the affected rooms had any personal effects left in situ which impeded or prevented access, causing the job to be cancelled or deferred, I would incur a £200 deferment/cancellation cost. I spent several hours clearing and packing everything up and stacking it in my only other useable space, my lounge. (I live alone in a one bed flat) Bedroom, hall and loft were all clear for the 8am Saturday morning arrival. Mike arrived (He alone is the only person/point of contact who does this company any credit, thankyou for your consideration and courtesy Mike. It must be frustrating to turn up to do a job only to find it's not what you were led to believe it to be.) and within minutes of putting his head into my loft reported that there was no possible way whatsoever that the job could be done as it had been quoted. My joists are too close together meaning that access is difficult and structurally would never accommodate a standard fit hatch. He looked at a number of ways around the problem before apologising for my wasted time. He said that the office would call me with an apology/possible solution first thing Monday. No apology Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. I emailed, pretty outraged by this point, marvelling at why no-one had been in contact. (Remember I have paid over £1000 in deposit on this job) A Cursory apology was issued and I was advised that the job will have to be cancelled. I'm still sat amongst boxes at this point loathed to put everything back. I replied saying that this wasn't a fair way to do business: securing customers and taking deposits under false pretences and fake promises. My time is valuable and I spent hours of it preparing for this job also to be present for the 2 appointments. If cancellation was what The Loft Doctor were advising (through no fault of mine) then I should recieve the £200 cancellation fee, in parity with the price they put into their contracts to compensate for their staffs wasted time.
I got nowhere with this argument. Eventually after The Loft Doctor suggested a further 3 times that we just cancel the job and that "what usually happens in these circumstances is that we just refund the deposit" I again point out that this is an unfair way of doing business: taking deposits and inconveniencing customers who are fooled into signing by unrealistic, completely fabricated surveys. I suggested that perhaps a better, more ethical way would be to honour these erroneous surveys and make good on their quotations. This is when Loft Doctor said ok we will do the job. They told me that they would need to cut my joists and that I would need to get written consent from the below flat as it was a much more complicated job and would affect the structure of the roof. This sounded scary but I wanted the job done, my living space was still compromised so I accepted. Then I thought and reassessed. Did I really want to prolong my relationship with this company. A company who had been on the backfoot since the beginning. Who take 75% deposit, send surveyors who can't survey and who have to be coerced into making good on their promises. Did I really trust them to cut my joists and possibly compromise the structure of my roof. No. I wrote again to say that I no longer wanted to proceed and I wanted my deposit back. I tried again for the £200 compensation, which would by no means reimburse me for my time but was the value for wasted time which they had set down in their contract. I recieved no reply to this email and instead recieved a notification from my bank that I'd had my deposit returned. Only my deposit, which they had had for 19 days. No compensation.
What a dreadful way to conduct a business.
A complete waste of my time, and a really bad taste left.
What a disappointing company with a horrible business ethic:
Get customers, secure them, get them to part with their money, then decide if the job is worth doing, if it isn't then just cancel at a later date. With no penalty. It's a win win for The Loft Doctor. Absolutely no regard for the disruption caused or the time their customers (or potential customers) may waste. In my opinion they are unprofessional and unethical.

Great service and job completed in one day. Nick the fitter was excellent and when a problem cropped up he consulted us straight away and liaised with the office for the job to be amended. Neat and tidy and grateful for our extra space. Thanks!
Rang several smaller companies who couldn't undertake the work so rang a major company who could only undertake several aspects of the job.Rang Loft Doctor and Nick the professional fitter insulated and boarded the loft and fitted a bespoke loft door. All done in less than a day and to a truly professional standard and all work explained.phone calls and emails from the company all professional and knowledgeable and nothing was a problem.Would only recommend this company.
Everything about the entire experience was genuinely so lovely & I felt really safe with them. This is our first house & it's kinda scary when you don't know things, but they were really reassuring throughout & I am more than happy with the quality of the work. I spoke mostly with Caroline on the phone who was extremely comforting & professional. I met Neil who came out to give me a free quote & he wasn't pushy or anything, he was knowledgeable & very friendly. Then Mike was the fitter & he was also very lovely, knew exactly what he was doing, he was efficient & put me at ease.
I would absolutely recommend this company, it's all very professional, great prices, great work & I felt completely looked after throughout & the communication was excellent throughout.
Thank you all very much, it was a pleasure to work with you.
Wonderful people to deal with! From the initial phone call to waving the fitter off, I nothing but praise for LoftDoctor. The initial survey was carried out by Stephen and the fitting carried out by Nick with support from “Tap”. We have had full loft insulation fitted and some boarding. The work has been carried out to an excellent standard. Thank you Loft Doctor team 🙏
The fitter arrived on time and worked none stop, in and out to his van in the pouring rain for materials and his work was very tidy and neat, he showed us the work he had done and how to safely use the loft ladder, an excellent job. Would definately recommend the Loft Doctors
Great service, start to finish (from the initial contact, through quote, through being kept informed, through fitting)
Anthony had the job done in no time leaving the place spotless. The whole process from consultation to the end was seamless and communication from Caroline was a dream. Would highly recommend.
Antony was prompt polite and very tidy. The finished result exactly what I wanted and advice given regarding future problems with old wasp nests.
Anthony the fitter was very professional and carried out the loft boarding to a very high standard, very happy with the completed work, would recommend to family and friends.
Excellent customer service, very polite and professional, exceptional work and great explanation with finished product
Loft Doctor carried out the contract as required.
From the general quote to the installation everything was clear and professional. They gave me solutions of things I could do myself to save on price and they tidied up as they left. Paul the installer was very prompt on and on time. Have zero complaints.
From Steve's initial quote visit to Paul fitting the floor with some help from Nick on day two, everything was smooth clean and tidy.
Very happy with my 396 square feet of floor space, bring on my man cave.
