No complaints after several years being insured
I have been with Mackenzie Hodgson for a number of years and their price is still competative and in most cases cheaper. Level of cover is good such as breakdown, legals, travel abroad etc. I Have always been able to speak with a person when necessary.

Ok but stopping auto-renew less good
I had an easy experience generally with Mackenzie Hodgson, inc a good quote, pleasant staff and straightforward online insurance process. But two things weren’t so great.
First, they are a broker not the underwriter. While not a big issue it does mean that the name taking the money from your bank bears no resemblance to the insurer. Not unusual amongst insurers.
Second, the system to stop auto-renewal. While they have three ways to do this (call, online chat or online form) only the call function is straightforward. The online chat button does not appear on their website from a mobile phone. The online form would be great, but the headers for each section are in the same font colour as the background (both black), meaning it isn’t clear what to write in each box (I highlighted and copied where I imagined the text was and pasted it into notes to see what each header said). Once completed and submitted, the form disappears with just a thank you line, nothing to confirm your policy is cancelled (at time of writing I haven’t received an email either) so you don’t know if it is cancelled or not. Very frustrating.

I had an accident in the Isle Of man in…
I had an accident in the Isle Of man in June 2024.
MY son reported this for me as i was hospitalised.
Subsequent follow ups turned into a nightmare, where calling my insurance company i had to call Ageas as well ... many many times, including arranging with Douglas Police and Ageas to get my motorcycle picked up which took hours of calls from my wife.son and myself.
6-8 weeks later my bike got collected.
I was also tols to call 4th Dimension to start legal proceedings against the other party.
2 weeks later i was still in hospital and they called me to advise thay cannot cover me as it was the Isle of man which is classed as international.
I went through to the complaints team who emailed 4th dimension and c/c in a solicitor in the Isle of man thay cam liase with to start proceedings.
I never heard back from tghem at all.
Despite constant calls to all involved.
I had to take on another company to do this for me that take 25%, which is omgoing still and may taje a while.
At one point i was told i need to talk to Rac insurance as they provide legal cover.
Our calls to them were batted away advising us thay do not provide this cover.
I have been in contact with the complaints team who emailed Rac in October and i still have not had a reply from them.
My cover clearly states legal cover in the Isle of man is included in my policy.
This company hasd been most unhelpful, when i really needed assistance, was unwell in hospital and told i had to ring Ageas and 4th Dimension direct.

Easy to set up through the comparison site. Great price for the cover even with the modifications made to the vehicle. And the break down and legal cover add automatically is an added bonus at no extra cost.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS TOTAL RIP OFF
I wanted to add another bike to my policy so got a price from one of the agents, phoned back to accept it and was told they can’t offer this to me anymore and was given an unbelievable high price as they only had one offer to give me, I was advised to look else where and cancel my policy. Which I did and received £7.02 back which means I had paid over £60 a month for my insurance. I expect somewhere it says that I would get very little back in the reams of small print, but I will be contacting the insurance ombudsman as this is not right a total rip off. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
