Disgusting excuse of a company

What a shambles of a company. I will be happen to see them crash and burn to be honest. I’m usually an incredibly chilled out person but there’s only so many times I can be let downby a company. I bought a course of six sessions laser hair removal on bikini area through groupon, ignoring all the bad reviews and feeling that I should give them the benefit of the doubt. Worst decision I’ve made in a while. Firstly they told me my groupon entitled me to have a full Hollywood laser and did this for me on my first appointment. Second appointment I showed up and was told this wasn’t the case & it only entitled me extended bikini, although I showed them the groupon small print & this wasn’t the case. They told me the ts & Cs had changed, annoying- but tolerable. Turned up for my third appointment, only to be turned away saying it had been cancelled. I had travelled 50 minute to get there and hadn’t received any messages to warn me of this. I was annoyed, but again- these things happen. Today however, was absolutely in excusable. My fourth session and I had rescheduled a shift at work to make this appointment (as They weren’t answering their phones & I didn’t want to miss an appointment). I had received a confirmation text from them 2 days prior to assure me my appointment was going forward. When I arrived at the Manchester salon today you can imagine my confusion when I found the shutters were down and the interior was empty. I kept my cool and called the main customer service number. I waited on the phone for approx. 15 mins & when I politely enquires what was happening in Manchester, I was hung up on. Again, I thought naively that perhaps the line had cut out, but this happened to me the second time I called. What a disgustingly unprofessional & childish excuse for a company. I have never complained about anything on this site but the sheer audacity of these imbeciles have changed that today. Ignore all these 5 star false reviews because after reading everyone else’s horrors I feel strongly that they should be taken to court

Fake reviews about their old loyal staff who they've ripped off..l

Karol skwira, Chris willoughby and jess willoughby have both committed fraud by knowingly taking customers money for packages they cannot honour. They've taken cash only payments for 3 weeks in king street, not declared their earnings and left the staff unpaid. Meanwhile they've set up new companies under Bethany Alicia chambers at spaces offices by St. Peter's square. They plan to open more beauty spots without their name on the company as they're going to be struck off. They have also claimed all of the stock and machines were stolen so are about to commit fraud when in fact they took them from the king st salon on Friday night. They can be found on instagram or Facebook so drop them a message. Con men at their worst. Chris is scared of some things coming out ;)))

It’s a joke!

Funny how a lot of these 5* reviews have appeared after a couple of the salons have shut down!! Where are you all going and I hope you have all been rewarded for the lies you are telling!

For those of you like me who have spent hard earning wages on a so-called treat, if you paid on your visa/debit or credit card, speak directly to your bank/building society and ask them to raise a dispute and arrange a chargeback for you. They may still be able to do something for you even though it sounds like the senior management have done a moonlight flit leaving the salons empty and staff unpaid! You will need to provide them with evidence that you have tried contacting Pierre Alexandre to arrange appointments and/or a refund.

I have also been in touch with Trading Standards.

I Went In and staff were just sitting…

I Went In and staff were just sitting chatting behind reception desk and they made a point to finish the conversation before I was spoke to, hairdresser who cut my hair also nipped the back of my neck and it was bleeding, very apologetic but didn’t offer any discount off the price for his error. The guy clearly wasn’t ready for me as his clippers ran out of battery, he never had any of his equipment ready and had to leave our area 3 times to get something he forgot he needed. Normally i would have to get a hairdryer to get the little bits of hair off he back of my neck and out my hair but I wasn’t offered this which I thought was disappointing. The guy was very friendly and chatty but I think little things like being ready for a client would make things a whole lot better and comfortable for someone not having been their before. The cover I had when I was getting my hair cut left the sleeves of my jumper revealed and when the guy was finished I got up and the way he took it off he covered my sleeves and trousers with lots of tiny bits of strands of hair. Clearly a lack of experience, slightly disappointed as my girlfriend highly recommended them.

Charlie is honestly the best stylist…

Charlie is honestly the best stylist that has ever worked with my hair! He took such care, focus and precision. Amazing skills also. Very warm, kind person - I would definitely go back just for him! I believe he's a huge credit to your salon. The ladies on reception/non-hairstylists aren't so lovely - it was visible that they were walking around bored (although there was plenty to do - salon was busy and there was brushing needed doing, and that's just from my third party point of view) and one lady made sure I knew that she was very tired and that she had to work a long shift that day - pretty much all she said to me! However, I wouldn't let that put you off because the stylists work very hard and I didn't see one haircut i didn't like while I was there! I have already told all my friends Charlie is the go-to.

Upon arrival the staff were polite and…

Upon arrival the staff were polite and friendly, although a part of me wanted to dart for the door before our experience had begun as there were a few things that unnerved me visually such as a stylist with a visible hair extension poorly put in and I went to the area downstairs where the toilets were upon arrival and it was not visually pleasing. I thought it may be for staff, as a team member was drying her hair when I went down. I did not think they would take people down there, as it was basic in my opinion and messy, it needed sorting out, especially the flashing light bulb, it unnerved me but we stayed put and told ourselves of course it will be ok it is just nerves as it is a new place to us, I saw a lady leave with visually a nice cut so I felt relieved and that settled me and made me stay. We got shown downstairs! Which surprised me as upstairs was visually nicer for guests. I did grow confident as our stylists were honestly so lovely and seemed to listen to our needs, they offered drinks too and I said no in response to the 6 times I was asked. At the wash basins unfortunately our necks hurt alot as they had no rubber black band on to cushion you so that was not the best experience at all but they had good shampoo technique! Lovely head scrub, however staff chatting amongst other staff during hair washing. At the end our haircuts visually looked beautiful at first had a quick glance as you do to make sure and thanked the stylists, we were in a hurry to get gone to enjoy the rest of our trip so left swiftly of course. I realised later upon closer inspection the hair cuts were terribly done :( I was taken aback with shock and so disappointed. My hair curved upwards as it went shorter towards the front at both sides and not straight all the way round as I wanted a simple straight one length cut and my boyfriends hair :( I actually ended up trimming over this myself as I was previously a hair stylist myself, luckily I still had my scissors! At the sides over his ears his hair had one short bit then a very visually outstanding long bit towards the nape of the neck however not connected together at all. It was a clear mistake as it was not disconnected on purpose in a trendy way, there also appeared to be two guidelines he had cut from, so it stood out and looked awful. Safe to say, we won't be spontaneous again as a treat. Sorry guys! Please continue to better yourselves and all the best for the future. My over all rating is 2/5 it would of been 4/5 if great on point hair cuts and basins had rubber cushion on to comfort, 5/5 if the salon had clean visual appeal to. This criticism will be horrible to read but I want you to be aware of why we would not return and what you could do to improve yourselves and the business.

Ever since the new manager of didsbury…

Ever since the new manager of didsbury salon Ashley taken over, the once high standards of this business dropped. It’s such a shame as it used to be my hair favourite hair salon where all my family and friends been going for years. I have been a witness of her unprofessional behaviour towards the clients.

There are so many online reviews about poor quality of work she is producing. She is also know to be aggressive toward clients and staff.

After few month of her terrible management the salon is now closed. Be aware of this lady as she is now advertising mobile hair services on Facebook in the didsbury area.

I had my hair treatment with Nicola At the Manchester Salon. The hair wash was just terrible, probably the worst hair wash I've ever had.

I told to the hair stylist that the girl who washed my hair did a poor job and she said that everyone is fed up bout their wages?! Not sure why they're taking their frustration on customers!

Just like the other reviews here

Just like the other reviews here, I had the same horrendous experience with Pierre Alexandre.

I purchased a package for laser in January. I booked my patch test over the phone, after my Groupon code was taken via email and when I arrived to the Chester salon, I was informed by the hairdressers where they were renting the room that the salon has not even began operating yet.

It took me until March to receive a test patch. My first appointment for the full treatment was then cancelled due to the salon unexpectedly closing for a month. I was told by someone in the building that the only member of staff in the Chester branch had left because of an issue with her wages.

I rescheduled for a later date and upon arrival I was informed that the landlord had asked the company to leave and that it was their final day there. The landlord also informed me he had received the same treatment when trying to contact Pierre Alexandre about their issues with appointments and their lease.

I’ve spent hours sending emails, Facebook and Instagram messages and making phone calls since January to try secure an appointment but it has not been successful. And of course they declined to refund me. I took up the issue with Groupon and they have refunded me in Groupon vouchers, but the process for that was also very long and tiresome.

Pierre Alexandre is a shameful mess and it should not be operating. It is run by pathetic thieves.

In February 2019

In February 2019, I purchased a package of 6 laser sessions for £1100 with Alanis the Receptionist for the Pierre Alexandre Aesthetics in South Kensington over the phone.

I specifically requested to have the Treatment done before the end of February, it was only under this condition I placed the booking otherwise I would have chosen to purchase the treatment elsewhere.
The receptionist assured me that they would be able to fulfil my request, she checked the beauty technicians calendar and booked an appointment for the following day over the phone for the patch test, she never at this point mentioned the terms & conditions. Once I had purchase, they sent me an email to say that is not refundable. This directly contravenes consumer law, which stipulates a 14 day cooling off period.

After payment had been taken, I received a call from the receptionist advising me that they could no longer book an appointment for the following as they wouldn’t have the machine needed to deliver the service available.

I spoke with the beauty technician, Jill in Pierre Alexander Aesthetics in South Kensington to explain it is not acceptable that they haven’t provided the service under the requirements we discussed and that I would like a refund. She apologised and told me that she is fully booked and they only have the machine once a month.

I clearly understood that I will never have the treatment requested so I have emailed them and called them to get my refund, again it is my right and the law to be able to change my mind within 14 days. Despite this, I was just told me that they are not able to proceed with the refund as they are not Managers and when I asked to speak with a Manager I was told that I had to send an email. I did this but they never responded.

This level of customer service is unacceptable, my experience of this company is that they do not respect the clientele, on several occasions they hung up on me I can only assume as a result of me asking for the refund. Based on my experience I would advise people to DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING WITH THEM, the experience has caused me much stress and I feel that they mislead people and are not truthful or transparent.

PLEASE AVOID THEM.

The Worst Experience Ever

Oh god, I can't believe I only just decided to look for reviews now... I wish I'd done this sooner so I could have seen that it's not just me, they are a terrible company! I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt, kept giving them second chances, and now I'm never getting my money back.

I originally had a course of laser hair removal booked, and the package came with an hour full body massage as well. Did the first few laser sessions, things were going fine. Then my appointments kept getting rearranged, or I would turn up at the salon and they had no record of my appointment. This happened when I came for my 1 hr massage, I had booked it for around my birthday, I was having a REALLY stressful time so a nice relaxing massage was just what I needed. So when I got there and they said I had no appointment, that was enough to tip me over the edge. I spoke to a girl on the customer services line, and I just said look I know this isn't your fault but this keeps happening and she just apologised and she was like look you're not the first person this has happened to, and she told me that whenever I get an appointment, make sure I get a confirmation text or email, and if I don't then call up to make sure the appointment is still there, to make sure I don't come all the way to the salon and don't have an appointment.

After that it just went even more down hill. I would say only about 20% of the appointments I had, went ahead at the original time I booked them. I stupidly paid for more sessions because I wanted my underarms doing too. My original course was for a Hollywood. One time when I went in, they were clearly rushed off their feet and the therapist said oh is it ok if the new girl does your underarms and I'll do your Hollywood? I said yes. Well I don't know how much training this new girl had, but she just kept going over the same patch pretty much, and it was more towards my back/shoulder blade than my underarm. Like I don't have any hair growing there?!? I was just thinking, do I say something? Please concentrate on the crease, you know where everyone's underarm hair grows?!

Well the next time I went in, this new girl was the only therapist, and she did my Hollywood and my underarms. It was a terrible experience. Obviously a Hollywood is in a very sensitive area... I honestly came away feeling violated. I didn't know what to do, because she was the only staff member there. Who do I say something to? So I didn't say anything. I decided that I would just switch to a different salon, so I stopped getting treated at the Manchester salon, and booked my next appointment at the Didsbury branch.

When I turned up for my appointment, the lights were all off and the shop looked shut, so I called the customer services line. They said oh yeah the hairdressers bit is shut but if you just go through to the back of the shop you'll see the light on the stairs. So I was supposed to know to walk through a dark shop to get in?! Anyway eventually I found it and the session went ahead. She missed an area completely and I didn't realise until I was walking out of the salon.

I then had an appointment booked on the 15th April at the Didsbury salon. Unfortunately I got booked to work last minute, so I tried to get in contact with them to rearrange but it was a Sunday. When I eventually spoke to someone they said I would have to be charged a late cancellation fee, and I explained about all the times I had been messed around, and how nothing had ever been done to apologise, so I suggested that the fee should be wavered. THEN as we were going back and forth I got an automatic text to say that my appointment had been cancelled because my therapist was ill. How funny! That my very point had been made, and I had been cancelled on yet again. So they rearranged my appointment for 26th April. I then turned up for my appointment to find a notice on the door saying closed until further notice. Unbelievable. I want my money back but I don't even know where to start.

this is a joke.

i tried to contact the number on the appointment text to cancel and change my appointment and the line was dead, i then used google to search for a more accurate number. once i got through to customer services (after 6 hours of constantly ringing them) the lady tried to charge me £20 cancellation fee to rebook. the manager called Shanise was rude and unprofessional. they also said their cancellation fee is if you cancel within 48 hours whereas on the groupon website it says 24 hours. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. THEY ARE A SCAM AND WILL TRY TO GET MONEY OUT FROM YOU FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING!!!

Stay Away, it’s a Con

I have had the same awful experience like the rest of people. Paid £150 for 6 sessions of laser. Once had 1 session and then they cancelled rest of the 2sessions at short notice on the morning of appointment. I managed to speak to a “manager” who was very rude said that I cannot get a refund because it was a special offer !! This was not mentioned when they happily took money off me.

They booked me again for a sessions tomorrow at Didsbury but by looking at the post here that branch is now closed !! I will still go tomorrow to see for myself but will be contacting trading standards to get my refund. This is a Con, looting money off hard earning people in name of offer and not honouring any treatments. How do you sleep at night 😡🤬

I have had the same experience detailed in the DIDSBURY branch

I have had the same experience detailed by other customers. Bought a 6 month package in December and managed to get 2 facials before they then started cancelling my appointments, and refusing to answer my emails even when I have resent them multiple times. Also impossible to get through to anyone on the phone.

Thank you to the people that suggested contacting trading standards. When I have read up on this the law says:

bConsumer contracts are protected by the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act, 1980.

If you have a contract with a service supplier you can expect that:

The supplier has the necessary skill to provide the service
The service will be provided with proper care and diligence
The materials used will be sound and that goods supplied with the service will be of merchantable quality

Or that you receive the service you were promised!

They have definitely broken the law and I have reported them to trading standards and have contacted the citizens advice bureau on how to get my money back. I suggest anyone who has had a similar experience does the same!

I am very concerned

I am very concerned. I have just found out that Pierre Alexander Colour Bar Didsbury has closed. I have purchased a VIP package and paid in advance for hair treatments up until November 2019. I was happy with my cut and colour although getting g through on the phone to make an appointment was difficult.

I took the package because Pierre has such a fantastic personal reputation in Manchester and so really trusted the brand and everything it stood for.

What will happen to the advanced paying VIP customers . Can I transfer to Manchester!!!!

So I’m an ex employee of this farse of…

So I’m an ex employee of this farse of a company.. not only in my employment here did I witness both firsthand and as onlooker breaches of employment law in every aspect but also false advertisement in more than a few areas in both hair and aesthetics sides and purposely overbooking treatments whilst also receiving payments from clients, knowing full well they wouldn’t be honored. DECEPTIVE,UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOWN RIGHT ILLEGAL- wouldn’t even come close to what I’ve had to work through and witness.

In my time here my pay was never not a single time ever correct - the excuse I got was the accountant saves them a lot of money on tax avoidance so when it comes to pay they don’t like to bother them.. not forgetting the time they opened another salon but couldn’t pay the staff who had already earned their wage so just didn’t pay anybody at all! When confronted they dished out disciplinaries like they were sweets at Halloween!

I’ve seen hairdressers taken off the salon floor to go upstairs to perform massages and do laser treatments (without either the qualifications, training or knowledge) therapists sacked for having mental health issues (caused by working for this sham of a company) offering clients one type of brand adding to a service but actually not even giving them a similar type of product but in fact the complete opposite only causing more damage when used in the incidents.. I could go on..

All I can say is 50 years just went down the shitter with the reputation of a trusted brand and sadly the loyal trusting clients dishonestly obtained hard earned money.

I read all these terrible messages…

I read all these terrible messages below at a friends house who uses this program.
I am a longtime friend of Pierre and have been to most of his salons over 30 years, I always had marvelous services from all departments, all my Family and friends still go to Pierre Alexandre,
I have spoken to Pierre since seeing these messages and became a member here only because of these horrendous messages below which are all lies and have been created by Unhappy clients who obviously had some bad experience at one of Pierres salons to be motivated to be angry, however I do know that some people on here are very aggressive, these messages below must of been written by unhappy people, who must of been rude to Pierre's staff, in live nothing is ever resolved with anger, think about about all the amazing stylists and aesthetic staff who read this, Pierre is nearly 80 years old and not well this could really speed his illness Just think about others not just about yourself. Have a heart! Pierre's has been in Business for 50 years and past on his legacy to some very hard working people. Running a large operation takes a massive amount of energy, Those messages below are just extreme and highly exaggerated, there are always two sides to every story remember that when you read this, all the messages below are totally one sided!
I know for a fact that their Client service is one of the very best you can get anywhere otherwise they would of never lasted since the early nineties, I tell you one thing if anything happens to my Friend, it will be on your conscious, was all this really so important?

Absolutely awful experience

Absolutely awful experience I have had with Pierre Alexander. Had my patch test for Lazor hair removal in Dec and only in April I have my first session.

This was due to firstly being sent to the Leeds salon on the wrong day (Monday) when the company isn't even open on that day (this was over a moth after the patch test as there was not enough space)

Rearranged this appointment and then that was cancelled due to lack of therapists, then had wait another month

Was Told that the new therapists had a week training, they only had a day training and the girl doing my lazor had no experience in the industry before and had been left by the rest of the therapists by herself on her first day. She seemed very under confident with her own company.

To make things even worse the Lazor Hair removal machine DID'NT WORK, every two minutes it cut out and have video evidence which unfortunately I cannot post on her.

After this I have been trying to get in contact with someone for any compensation, got through to central office ands they said they can't deal with this call the leads branch which i know for a fact you can barely get hold of and the therapists can't do anything about it.

At a loss at what I can do, the company have lied stolen money off me, if nothing is sorted will be reported the company for not providing the service promised and lying.

SO I AM EDITING THIS; I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE MY SECOND SESSION TODAY AND HAVE FOUND OUT THAT IT HAS ALL SHUT DOWN.

I have called companies house and they say that because the company has DISSOLVED instead of liquidation there is no way of getting money back. I think given the amount of people that have been scammed we should all make a case together? if anyone knows how to go about this then I would like to hear from you and try arrange us all to get money back ASAP.
