Too much hard sell and unsolicited complications.

I found the information provided interesting, but the style of delivery aggressive and insulting at times. My furniture was insulted "Its liking being in school" and my partner was asked "Are you a mortgage expert?" after he was trying to ask some questions. There were more complications when being told about writing a Will, which I had not asked for and being told that my existing Will was invalid, I accepted it is out of date but the information on this was unsolicited. It would help if up front we are informed of the different aspects which will be discussed so that a more informed decision can be made as to whether to engage a broker in the first place. I just wanted information about a mortgage, I now understand I will not just get that information, so I am disappointed in the somewhat hard sell type approach which was deployed.
Being told repeatedly that the broker was the best in the business was just unpleasant to hear too. In my line of business there are many excellent teachers and I would not presume to be the best and my students would not want me bragging about my skills either; I did not think this was helpful information to include.

Great work.

Great work.
My family and I are very happy with the the service we retained from this company. They were very efficient and communication between the advisors and ourselves was easy and simply. The advisors were brilliant (kevin) they explained everything in detail and made it easy to understand all the legal terminology. I will definitely recommend Pure Finacial Decisons to anyone.
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.
All our thanks and appreciation.
Troy and Sharline.

Great company

We took our mortgage out with this company and thought the service was brilliant from start to finish! The members of staff we spoke to couldn’t be more helpful, especially the advisors who dealt with us, very professional and knowledgable.

My friend recommended...

I don’t normally take the time to write a review but I had to on this occasion because I was pleased with the service from the staff at Pure Financial. I’ve never been through a broker before but my friend told me about them. The advisor showed me a brilliant product and they actually searched the whole market which would have taken me a long time to check every bank. I am so surprised how quickly they got my mortgage through and how easy it actually was for me, they dealt with everything and smoothly. Really pleased with the service. Highly recommended!!

Do not be oversold products

Rude, aggressive SALES person. The person who came to our house may call himself a mortgage advisor but really is a sales person. We wanted to discuss mortgage figures but after 2 hours we never did get to that point and we were told he would come back in a week with just ONE mortgage offer on the table. We explained that this is not what we want and that we wanted several options to choose from ourselves and not be pressured into choosing the one that he would tell us is the best, he said that this is not possible. When we have used a mortgage advisor in the past we spoke to them on a daily basis and he kept us in the picture the whole way through. The person that came to our house was rude, aggressive and patronising and we will not be dealing with him or the company again.

Dear Alex,

Firstly can I thank you for leaving the above review and I am genuinely sorry that we failed to meet your expectations, we have tried to contact you separately to address any issues, but to date have received no response.

We record all of our meetings with our clients and this has allowed me to listen the the entire meeting so I can gather a full understanding of the concerns you have raised.

I am disappointed that the adviser that visited you, did not sufficiently explain the extremely strict regulations we must follow in providing you with mortgage advice.

For us to provide advice we must conduct a full financial review to ensure any product that is recommended is suitable for your needs and requirements. For us to do this we must go through your personal details, employment details, your existing finances, your existing protection policies and your other expenditure to assess affordability.

During that analysis if any areas of financial planning that we give advice on are seen to be exposed then we have a duty of care to raise them with you, it is of course up to you whether you wish to address these areas or not.

Once an analysis is complete we would then re-book a second visit to come back at show you our research and make a recommendation as to what we believe best meets your objectives. The nature of providing advice means we are financially responsible for the advice we give. The regulations do not permit us to offer you a range of options, as this is not seen as giving advice as you are then selecting a product as opposed to us recommending a product, and is therefore in breach of the FCA guidelines. There is a very helpful pamphlet issued by the FCA which explains this in more detail and a copy was included in the pack left with you. It can be found at https://www.fca.org.uk/publication/documents/getting-a-mortgage-rules-that-affect-you.pdf

Should you choose to reject the advice we have provided then we are then able to look for an alternative product for you on what is called an Execution Only basis, and again the pamphlet explains the consequences of getting a mortgage without advice and the protections you lose by choosing this route. I cannot comment on any previous mortgage adviser you have used, but would maintain that we always follow the regulated process outlined to the letter.

Finally on listening to the recording from end to end, I am unable to find any part where the adviser is aggressive or rude to yourselves, I do believe that had more time been spent by the adviser on explaining the above in more detail to you, then there would have probably been in a very different outcome to the one you have expressed.

The offer stands open for us to discuss the matter further and to hopefully restore your confidence in us, I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind Regards

Richard Dearlove
