Dear Mr Flather, apologies that we couldn't fulfil your order. As you may be aware there is global shortages on a lot of materials especially those in the construction industry. Unfortunately our system wasn't updated and the product had been sold from our local delivery warehouse. Your refund was processed on the same day of notification but can take around 3 working days to show in your account, dependent on your bank/card provider. Again our apologies for the inconvenience but the situation was beyond our control.

Unable to fulfil confirmed order
Inaccurate stock profile on website and inability to fulfil orders.
I ordered roof tiles, fittings from roofstores.co.uk as sufficient stock for my job was showing on their website. I paid for the order in full and received an order confirmation showing delivery within 3 days.
I then received an email informing me that the material required had been "double booked" meaning despite a) roofstores.co.uk showing the stock, b) me paying for the order in full, c) roofstores.co.uk confirming the order.
....I was still let down.

The situation is basically exactly as you described. You placed an order pretty much immediately after someone else and there is a slight delay on the updating of stock online (which is unavoidable). So it allowed you to proceed with an order despite stock being taken and it sent you the automatic confirmation emails.
We understand your frustration but we informed you at the very first opportunity that this has happened and provided you with an updated lead time.

purchased a stainless steel slate…
purchased a stainless steel slate ripper it arrived i noted that the blade was powder coated silver i contacted Josh who assured me it was stainless steel not convicted as stainless steel does not require coating i scraped it back to the steel then put water over it the steel rusted contacted Roof store again refused to accept that it was not ordinary steel & because i had scraped it I would loose the cost of P& P shocking service beware.

You raised a concern with us about the product and we got advice from the actual manufacturer of the product who informed us that the thing you were concerned about was a protective coating and therefore the item you received was correct as described and in good condition.
You decided, for some reason, to damage the product by removing that coating and then wondered why the product deteriorated. With all due respect, you made the decision to destroy the product despite us giving you assurances from the creators themselves.
You were entitled to a refund because you were unhappy with the product, which we offered you without you needing to return the item to us, as a sign of good will on our part, but as we delivered a product in good working order the refund was minus the Postage and Packaging.
We appreciate all feedback but in this case, we really don't see what more we could have done for you

Great Customer Service - But use a different courier!
Really impressed with the product range, we managed to get the item we wanted without having to wait for months on end due to current supply shortages within the industry.
The customer service is quick and prompt, can’t fault that at all. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is due to the courier. We had our order moved several times and at one point we were contacted by the courier to say they would be delivering 1800 tiles to us at 7pm on a Friday! Not ideal. And especially a pain when the order is cancelled at the last minute and you’re paying staff wages to help out and offload a delivery that doesn’t show. When you want to contact the courier to discuss they have an automated message explaining that you need to send an email - to which you wait a long time for a reply, which is really general and not specific to your situation.
The chap that finally delivered the order from a different courier company was great - perhaps roofstores could use them going forward?

I am not a roofer by trade
I am not a roofer by trade, due to Covid times tile stocks are sparse across roofing merchants. Roof Store had stock and had the tiles at a great price. Delivery was easy and friendly, but after delivery I realised I had ordered the wrong profile tiles. I contacted Roof Store - Josh H (eCommerce Sales Administrator), who was totally understanding and extremely helpful, he has arranged for collection and a refund. Its people like him who make a company. Many thanks for all his help. Cheers Paul
