Stockport Mercedes!

I got my GLC 300 from there mid October, there were problems with the paint work and wheels when we looked at it, and we were told it’d be fixed by pick up. Come to pick up day and the paint work was only partially done and wheels missed. So we decided to take the car to Scotland and sort it when we got back. While away there was a minor fault of the rear camera constantly not working, we reported this straight away to our salesman. When we got back the car went back to Mercedes to have the paint, wheels and rear camera done.
They put me in a brand new A-Class. And this is where the problems truly start! That lovely new A-Class locked our 2 year old daughter in for 30mins with my keys and phone in the car also!!! I panicked thankfully I have fabulous neighbours who got hold of Mercedes for me and after 30mins they remotely unlocked the car…. No apology!!!!
After being left in the dangerous car (which tried to lock her in 2 more times) for 2 more days I was about to go and get my car when they rang to say it’s not right and I’d have to keep the A-Class another day. Next day, I go to get my car back and my now black car has a BROWN rear quarter!!! WHAT?!! They used the wrong paint!!!
So I take my now partially brown car as I needed it and they had no big SUV’s for me and tell them I’ll be back on the 10th December with it.
We get in the car to drive to Manchester airport for our holiday only to find the windscreen leaks!!! Now this has never been noticed as I park in our garage. So email them again. Ok it’ll get sorted on the 10th, but our salesman won’t be in so he’ll let the management know… right fine!
Come the 10th and no one knows we’re even coming! By this point I’m ranting!!! Finally now I get an apology for their car locking our daughter in! Oh and the service manager that day openly admitted they know there’s a fault with the cars locking with the keys inside!!!
We leave the car with them, they do the paint work and wheels, meant to do the windscreen and we find out in the next couple of days it’s been missed!
Now we’ve tried for almost a week now to get answers out of them only to be constantly ignored. We’ve escalated it to customer services, but that takes a while. And my car still has water leaking through the rear view mirror, never mind the mould growth each time it dries!
My next port of call is to park the damn car in their showroom and force them to deal with us, but until then I think people should be aware that their new cars are dangerous and they won’t admit to it! They will also ignore you over and over because they don’t want to deal with you!!!!

Leaking GLA…

I have a 5 year old Mercedes GLA with FSH and only covered 28k miles. I now have to pay for water leaking into the car from the rear nearside door inside the panel and window seal gone and water ingress on the rear offside. Anyone who has had the unfortunate experience of water in their car knows what a nightmare it is and it turns the car you love into the car you hate. Iconic brand or now just an overrated overpriced brand with average build quality living on past success. There are far better manufacturers out there which I will be turning to in the future.

Mis-selling of warranty

Bought a used C Class a year ago, got pushed into buying an extended warranty. No mention that warranty was with a third party not with Mercedes. Even though I asked questions. After a year having spoken to various departments, I’m told it’s via RAC. I think I was miss-sold. They not taking responsibility but was told by phone staff that many customers aren’t told who the warranty is with so I’m not the only one.

No More Mercedes Ever Again

Bought an Approved Used Mercedes still within manufacturer’s warranty. From the outset, the car then spent 6 months of the two years I owned it in the dealers having a fault investigated. It turned out to be an inherent design fault that required a factory modification to resolve. The car failed to meet any of Mercedes’ performance claims for the vehicle (a £40k E400d All-Terrain). Whist it was in the garage I was given a basic A-Class. When I finally asked Mercedes to compensate me for two years of continuous issue, they told me they wouldn’t because I had been “kept mobile” and they had fixed the design fault “free of charge”. I will be making sure, Mercedes-Benz, that I let everybody know of your complete contempt for your long-term customers and your entire lack of ownership for your badly-designed and flawed products.

Fantastic service when ordering my new vehicle here.

I ordered a new Mercedes GLA 200 Premium through the Plymouth dealership, and I was very impressed by how well they did to get me the vehicle of my choice as a Motability customer. The dealer representative called Ty was very good at keeping me updated, and the vehicle was made to order. Absolutely delighted with the vehicle and the dealership. Well done to everyone concerned. 10/10 for me!!

Very poor service-Mercedes

After Mercedes telling me that the Bradford branch had closed, I was told that I would have to go to either Huddersfield or Leeds for any services.
I have had Mercedes for years and they have always done a collection and delivered service. But I have been told that I have to drive myself to Leeds or Huddersfield with NO collection or delivery even though I prepaid for 3 years servicing when I bought the car in June.
They just do not want to know anymore not like when I was buying a new car.
A disgusting poor service from a name like Mercedes

Service from Watford has been dire

Service from Watford has been dire, complain to head office and STILL no one gives a monkeys! Genuinely shocked for a ridiculous small issue that no one has sorted after a service when the issue wasnt rectified. Really worth sticking £50+k into a vehicle with a manufacturer that doesnt care...... wont be doing that again!

Not caring, useless...

Last year I bought my car from MB of Brighton (in bad condition), and since then I had to complain (ask for help and justice) twice to their customer service. I came up with proofs but they are not interested in solving any issues the customer might have, they are not taking into consideration any proofs; with other words, they are useless. I would like to mention one thing that might be helpful for people who want to buy a car from Lookers: be aware of the type of warranty that you are buying as they will probably instead of the original MB warranty try to sell you some third party RAC warranty, as they did to me.

RW** RDS Mercedes E220d

RW** RDS Mercedes E220d

Collected car after service and fitting of new adblue tank and on driving home found entertainment screen was faulty, returned immediately to dealer who did a soft reset to remedy, then discovered boot would no longer open when setting off for travel to work, spoke to service manager who said I must just be unlucky !

I called service manager whilst car was in for repair and advised him that Mercedes me app was showing BATTERY CRITICAL and this was not showing previously.

The car is now dangerous and unfit to drive as I can not access the boot should I get a puncture or similar.

I use the car for work and travel 160 Miles a day on the motorway so now I have had to hire a similar car at a cost of £929.01 per week that i will be claiming from JCT600 until this issue is resolved.

JCT600 have also informed me that they are unable to claim money for service from Mercedes.

The quality of service provided is in dispute as per The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and no further monies will be paid until this issue is fully resolved.

None of these faults were apparent before JCT600 had the car.

Update: Judge dismissed their claim of non-payment against me. I reiterate DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They wasted thousands in legal action as opposed to resolving my issues, only to be embarrassed in court, do not accept shoddy service from these, they have already lost their JLR franchise and Mercedes will be next hopefully.

Disappointed

We went to purchase a new Mercedes but wasn't impressed. No prices on the cars just a barcode to scan just to find the basic info we just wanted an easy experience without sales talk.

Buyer beware ….

Buyer beware ….
1 year old Mercedes GLE - front parking sensors stopped working. Took them to dealer who refused a warranty claim due to a stone chip in one sensor. Quoted nearly £500 to replace one sensor. No damage around sensor, just small dent in one - probably clauses by a stone. How can these be fit for purpose? They are low down at front of vehicle. Clearly not robust if it can’t withstand a small stone impact - and end up costing the owner £500. Customer service in dealership was dreadful. Reviews on here clearly show Mercedes just don’t care. Meant to be a premium brand. Charge a premium price and offer sub standard customer service. Really wish I’d stayed with Audi who are fantastic.

Mercedes Benz Loughton…

I attended the Mercedes Loughton dealership on Thursday 31st October after having been informed my parts were ready. Got to there after a long wait just to be told that they had misplaced part of my order and it be ready for the following day.
Received another message from Mercedes dealership that my parts were ready for collection. Went into the showroom and there was no one available, customers were wondering around and not informed what was happening. About 25 minutes later all staff started appearing in the showroom, they had a weekly meeting, but no one attended the customer's to informed us what was going on.
The parts guy "Errol" was very unfriendly and abrupt with the customer before me.
When it was my turn I mentioned that I was Patrol from a well known road side rescue. He asked for my ID to which I replied I was off duty and didn't carry the ID with me everywhere. He said well everyone can say the same as me. I replied not to worry just let me have my parts without a discount, then I saw the guy from the previous day whom served me and told Errol to apply the discount.
Not very good customer relation.

Extremely Disappointed with Overcharging and Poor Service at Mercedes-Benz Southend

I would give a 0 if I could!!!

I recently took my 2015 Mercedes-Benz C Class to Mercedes-Benz Southend for repairs and was hit with an outrageous bill. My car’s ECU was faulty because of a wrong coding sent from a diagnostic tool, and I made sure this was clearly explained in the booking notes, when I dropped off the car, and even over the phone around 11 a.m. when I suspected that the technician had no clue what was going on (they’re supposed to be highly skilled techs, after all!). Yet, I was charged £666 just for diagnostics—despite spelling out the issue for them right from the start. Basically, they billed me for redundant checks on a problem I’d already identified.

When I collected my car and challenged the charges, the supervisor’s response was dismissive, suggesting that because most customers “don’t have knowledge in these matters,” they had to carry out all checks. This essentially translates to treating all customers as uninformed (to not say stupid in other words) and, in my case, ignoring clear information about the issue to justify overcharging for redundant diagnostics.

After much back and forth, the supervisor eventually admitted that the £444 seemed high and offered to cut it in half, which I’d have been fine with. But once he found out I’d already paid in full, he said he couldn’t make any adjustments, leaving me with no way to resolve this.

It’s absurd to come in with a specific problem, be clear about what’s wrong, and end up paying £222 + £444 just to confirm what I told them at the start (plus an additional £1,345 for the ECU itself, which I expected). Southend claims I agreed to all charges, but they conveniently didn’t mention that the initial £222 diagnostic fee wasn’t included in the quoted charges. I only found this out at the end of the day when I realized the £444 was for two extra hours of checks, which didn’t even include the initial diagnostic.

Honestly, if I’d known that, I’d never have agreed to pay for two extra hours. What could they possibly be doing for three hours when I’d already told them the ECU was unresponsive? Any skilled tech, with my notes in front of them, should have just checked the ECU pinouts, which would have shown there was no data coming out. Instead, they wasted two hours checking fuses and wires when I’d made it clear it was a software issue, not a physical fault. (And really, what is there to check for two hours? There are only two plugs altogether.)

On top of all this, I had to chase them down for an invoice, which I didn’t receive when I collected the car. I eventually requested it by email last week, but only got it today after following up by phone—they didn’t even bother to answer my email. When I filed a complaint, Customer Service backed Southend’s approach, said a goodwill request was submitted (and quickly denied), and reiterated that I agreed with the charges (again, not knowing that the initial diagnostic of £222 was not included in the £444 they asked for the investigation).

This shows a total disregard for customer input and a lack of transparency.

I would never, ever use any Mercedes Dealership again after being ripped off in such a shameful way, and I plan to take this to The Motor Ombudsman to get it properly looked into.

Hopefully, sharing my experience will help other customers make more informed choices about where to take their cars for repairs.
