What happened to the quality Mercedes-Benz

Leased a new EQC and after around 900 miles the high voltage battery failed. I rejected the vehicle as it failed in week 3 and it took 3 months to resolve. Horrible build quality that fails, shocking dealer service and awful central disservice. Never, EVER will I touch another MB product. Son in law has a nearly new CLA and the sunroof has failed. My brother had an EQC that he rejected after lots of faults and failures.

Professional, efficient & kind.

This morning I popped into the Mercedes Benz Southport dealership to ask if someone could help me to open my car bonnet, I was greeted by a young man in sales, (I didn't get his name), who immediately came outside to try to help. He too had difficulty, so fetched a technician who had a look and identified a problem with a hinge having seized up. He took it into the workshop and not only fixed the hinge, he topped all my levels up for me and then waited patiently whilst I made sure I was able to open & close it, his name was James.
Not only were they both professional & efficient, but also showed kindness which meant a lot when I was having a difficult day. Thank you both very much.

So very disappointed Warrington Branch Mercedes

I went to purchase my vehicle in December 2022. The process was smooth. The lady who sold me the car was great. It felt easy. It was sold to me the same day but failed its MOT so they give me a courtesy car to go home in and come back the following day I did feel like it was very rushed, but did not follow my instinct I was concerned about it filling its MOT, but they said to me, don’t worry everything will be fixed plus I had already bought it by then, the first service I had they told me the tires was at there limit three tires, I drove about 400 mile so I was a little bit disappointed however I do understand that they won’t just change tires but when I purchased the vehicle, I added on all the extras for example service park extra insurances to cover any problems yet when they did the service, they tried to charge me For things that should’ve been included on the insurance I purchased they eventually found the document and told me it was covered my car then went in for another service in February 2025 again they tried to charge me over 1000 pound for work to be done bear man I don’t really drive this car much but again I understand we’re into and all that and the guy on the phone told me that they don’t think the cost is included in the insurance I have when I checked online it absolutely is and I had to phone them back and they found the details and said oh yes, it is the battery on the vehicle must be low because it always tells me since I bought it to pull over and leave the vehicle on and the message does not disappear. I asked them to check this this time again they said they would when I received the car back I still had the error message on screen no information about it and this has been like this since I bought it. The after care from this company is awful. I would never purchase a Mercedes again and I have also told my family to stay clear of this company, although the cars are very nice and to a high spec, I feel like the Warrington branch just want to take your money and be rude to you There are a number of problems I have that I won’t list on here with the vehicle and these problems were there when I purchased the vehicle of which I only noticed when I had got home so very disappointed and feel like I’m paying 399 Per month for A car that is not worth it. When purchasing the car and it filled, it’s MOT I should’ve said not for me!

Avoid Mercedes Wakefield! What a joke

I bought a Mercedes A-class in May 2024 from Mercedes Wakefield. They took very good care of me at the time and I was very happy with the level of service I was provided with. However my opinion has now changed. In December 2024 we took the car into a local garage to be checked over due to it getting to the colder months. They noticed a leak in the injector. We spoke to Mercedes as this was not something we were told about when buying the vehicle and they stated they would not fix it due to the wiring or seals not being under warranty. Due to Mercedes wanting a couple of thousand pounds for the car being fixed we took it back to the local garage as I am not in the position to pay that much. During the time the garage spent trying to fix the issue they couldn’t get the machine back out due to the amount of debris in the injector tube. Again not something Mercedes has checked and just thought they’d bin this car off to a young girl who won’t know much better.
After many attempts the car is still sat outside a garage now classing as undriveable. Mercedes has stated it was “Mercedes approved” when I bought it however this was a massive lie and they have conned me into buying this car thinking it was perfect. The vehicle was not inspected properly and due to this I am without a car. I will never be purchasing a vehicle from them again and I have already warned off family and friends from even looking at vehicles sold by Mercedes Wakefield. This would be an easy fix for a “specialist” such as Mercedes however, they want to charge me fortune just to get this issue sorted.

Pathetic customer service...

Pathetic customer service...
I have had such an bad experience with Mercedes garages. We took our car on multiple occassions in last five years to different garages i.e. Southport, Portsmouth, Winchester and it has overall been very disappointing and disatisfactory particularly at Southport, Merseyside . Manager of Southport branch seems to be precious and never comes on call or face to face and completely unreachable. They took almost three months to sort out the car and returned our car without mending, charged us incorrectly and never returned the money, despite chasing them 100's of times. We will never buy this brand again... What a shame !!.

I had many issues with me car and the engine light, but with the help of daisy from lakeside the engine is now gone and was explained very well to what caused the problem. Throughout the whole process she was very clear and reliable meeting my needs. I also had a good chat with salesman Lesley who helped me with deciding my future with my car. I left very happy knowing if I have any issues again they will be fixed with no problems

Rude staff…

I took my car to Mercedes Benz Huddersfield, as I had looked on line and booked an appointment as I wanted to sell my car, I bought it from this garage in 2021, I had told them twice on the phone that I just wanted to sell my car as I wanted to buy a camper van.
When I arrived a man named Craig came and asked me if I had the full service history, I stated yes it’s in the car in the service book, he stated no it won’t be they don’t stamp books anymore, I assured him it was in the “service book” and it had been stamped every year by the garage I use (not Mercedes) he then stated no they don’t come with service books. I went on to tell him I had bought the car from this very garage and it came with a service book and I have the book in the car and if he would like to come with me I will show him! He followed me to the car and I showed him, he stated oh right yes I can see that it has got the service history, he gave no apology, he stated you can go back in now I will take some photos, after a while he came back and stated his manager has said he doesn’t want the car as it would only end up at auction. If I had wanted to buy a car from them I don’t think there would have been a problem. He advised me to take it elsewhere. This man was rude and offered no apology for the way he spoke to me, maybe because I was a woman and certainly because I was not buying a car from Mercedes. When I bought the car in 2021 I had a completely different experience they couldn’t do enough for me!! Rude staff I certainly will NOT return to this garage ever again.

Ripped off at Mercedes Cribbs Causeway Bristol

Complete rip off merchants! Recently took my car to be serviced at Cribbs Causeway Bristol and they charged me £800 for something just outside of warranty, that same error message came back on the next day so I went back and they charged me another extortionate amount and made up an excuse that the previous time they did something else. It was honestly so obvious they were just lying and so upsetting to part with so much money when they couldn’t even tell me what they had fixed. I have had lots of problems with the car since visiting them.
DO NOT USE Mercedes at Cribbs in Bristol! I wouldn’t buy another Mercedes - service is so poor - as you can see from ALL reviews!!!

In my experience …….,

Surprised by so many negative reviews, I am a long-standing customer of MB Doncaster and I have absolutely no reason to complain regarding the service received from their Service Department. Yesterday my GLE underwent its annual service and I was impressed by the attention received from Mark Emmerson who demonstrated his depth of knowledge, professionalism and communicative skills. Give them a try- highly recommended!

Mercedes Benz

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. My Mercedes GLA had a paint defect, took me around 10-11 months for Mercedes to rectify, with so many broken promises along the way. When they did rectify the problem they had my car for almost 8 weeks through the Christmas period. They refused me a courtesy car as “ I was not their customer “, even though I told them I had a disabled child. When I got the car back it was absolutely filthy inside , my dashcam cable was left floating around my windscreen. When I handed my car into Mercedes (Edinburgh body shop) it was spotless and the dashcam cables were hidden in the trim. I was told I would get an update on the work every 3 working days, this did not happen. The body shop in Edinburgh told me after I complained that”your car is low priority, if another job comes in your car is put aside, so we don’t always have an update for you”. Please think twice about buying a Mercedes Benz, once you have the car, they are not interested in you.

Service Plan

I was contacted by phone from MB West Yorkshire about extending my GLB service plan which was about to expire. I was on holiday at the time so I didn’t want to spend time discussing it. The advisor Ismail Gani was very polite and not at all ‘pushy’. He emailed me the plan options for me to review at my leisure and I contacted him and renewed on my return the following week. The plans are reasonably good value when you factor in the MOT and continuing breakdown cover and overallI have been very satisfied with the service from my local dealership Stratstone in Huddersfield. The Service Manager Kieron has been very helpful over the years.

**Review of Mercedes-Benz Wakefield

**Review of Mercedes-Benz Wakefield – Deeply Disappointed**

I can’t express enough how disappointed and frustrated I am with my experience at Mercedes-Benz Wakefield. I was sold a vehicle based on **false information**, specifically being told that it had a CarPlay system. After the purchase, I discovered that this feature was **non-existent**, and despite raising a serious complaint, the dealership’s response has been nothing short of dismissive.

I approached both the local dealership and the head office expecting a reputable brand like Mercedes-Benz to take accountability. Instead, what did I get? A **£150 goodwill gesture** – as if that’s supposed to make up for being misled into buying a car under false pretenses!

I even gave them a final opportunity to resolve the issue before taking legal action, yet no one bothered to respond. This shows the level of care and respect they have for their customers. Selling a vehicle with misleading information and then offering a token gesture instead of a proper solution is unacceptable.

I’m now left with no choice but to prepare for legal action. This experience has been a complete nightmare, and I would caution anyone thinking of buying a car from Mercedes-Benz Wakefield – **beware of false promises and poor customer service**. They seem interested only in closing the sale, not in standing by their word or supporting customers afterward.

If you value honesty and proper customer care, look elsewhere. I trusted the Mercedes-Benz brand, but this experience has shattered that trust completely.

Dreadful customer service

Dreadful customer service! Once MB have got your money they don’t want to know. I’ve had 3 different vehicles now - a brand new GLA with numerous electronic faults , an A class which took Mercedes in Shrewsbury 2 months to resolve a faulty petrol cap and I had to chase them constantly, only to discover that the parts had come in a week before I’d rang them for an update , I was driving around with masking tape on a brand new car, and it also had a vibrating rattles coming from the door panel and they basically said” we can’t find the origin, it’s just the way it is”! AND now with my current used GLE having issues with the heating system 1 hour after driving it away from the garage following my purchase, and now having ongoing camera failures , effecting my reversing/ parking camera, adaptive headlights and distance gauge, which Sytner in Carlise have not fixed despite having the vehicle back up there several times. They said it’s not a safety issue but I disagree when I have limited vision , especially at night and one of the reasons I bought the car because of all the added safety features. To add, I live in Anglesey and they want to drive my car back up to Cumbria everytime, putting mileage- several hundred miles each time, plus and wear and tear on my vehicle, rather than getting my local garage in Llandudno to assist, which is half an hour away. The manger there never responds to my emails or phone calls. Mercedes North Wales and Mercedes Sytner in Carlise have been appalling.I’ve now been waiting 2 months to get this resolved and still no further forward. It’s so disappointing as I love the cars but it’s such a stress dealing with the garages and trying to get things fixed. Won’t be buying another Mercedes after this finance ends.

If I could put 0 stars I would

If I could put 0 stars I would.

I am writing this review to express my utter frustration and disappointment with the experience I have had at the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Colindale, London. This has been, without a doubt, one of the most unprofessional and disheartening experiences I have ever had with a dealership, and quite frankly, it’s unacceptable for a brand that prides itself on luxury, quality, and attention to detail.

On December 20th, I purchased a Mercedes GLE for £55,500 CASH. As someone who previously worked for Mercedes, I am well aware of the processes involved in the sale and handover of a vehicle. A pre-delivery inspection (PDI) sheet must be filled out and signed by the sales team as part of the handover process. However, to my absolute dismay, I discovered that the car was sold to me without any washer fluid. This is a glaring oversight that speaks volumes about the carelessness and lack of attention to detail at this dealership. It is common courtesy, if not a basic requirement, to ensure that simple things like washer fluid are topped up before the car is handed over to a customer. In fact, it is an MOT failure to have no washer fluid, regardless of how easily fixable it may be.

The lack of washer fluid, although seemingly minor, raises far greater concerns. If the team could not even bother to check and fill something as basic as washer fluid, how can I trust that the car's brakes, tires, and other essential safety features were inspected properly? To make matters worse, the brakes on the vehicle are making an incredibly loud noise, which should have been identified and addressed during the PDI. The fact that the car was released in this condition is unacceptable, negligent, and frankly, dangerous.

To add insult to injury, I was not even offered a test drive before purchasing the car. The first time I physically saw the vehicle was the day I collected it. Despite having driven two hours from my home to purchase the car, not a single effort was made to ensure I was fully satisfied or confident in the purchase. However, the sales team was more than happy to take my calls and respond promptly when I was interested in buying the car. But once I had paid in full, the communication stopped completely. This level of disregard for a paying customer is disgraceful.

Today, I called the dealership at 13:10 to voice my concerns. I spoke to someone named Michelle who assured me I would receive a call back. Unsurprisingly, no one bothered to return my call. The dealership closes at 4 or 5 pm, so I find it very difficult to believe that not a single person had ten minutes to address such a serious complaint. Michelle was made fully aware of how angry and disappointed I was, yet my concerns were brushed aside. This is simply unacceptable customer service.

As someone who worked for Mercedes not long ago, I know the internal processes well. One would expect that my prior association with the company would warrant a higher level of care and attention, but clearly, this was not the case. The lack of professionalism and negligence displayed by the Colindale dealership is appalling.

I am now left contemplating involving my legal team to pursue action under the Consumer Rights Act. This level of negligence and failure to meet basic standards is unacceptable for a luxury car brand, and I will not hesitate to escalate this further if the matter is not rectified immediately.

As Christmas approaches, I am giving the dealership two business days to rectify this situation. I will not be driving two hours back to Colindale to have the car inspected. I expect the issue to be resolved at a Mercedes branch closer to my location. I demand immediate action, clear communication, and a full inspection of the vehicle to ensure there are no further oversights.

This experience has tarnished the Mercedes-Benz name for me, and unless significant corrective measures are taken, I will ensure that others are aware of the subpar service and negligence exhibited by this dealership
