Pathetic service from customer support

Pathetic service from customer support. Two separate recalls over the last two years, still unable to get appointments to get both rectified despite numerous phonecalls and brokenpromises.
Will not be buying mercedes again.

Poor customer service Mercedes Tamworth

Went to Mercedes Tamworth on a wet Saturday morning to look at getting a new car. Their first question was ‘Is this a company car?’ Once I answered yes, they said they had no staff available. Left feeling like a second class citizen who they couldn’t be bothered to get wet for. Not impressed.

The Demise of Mecedes Benz, a former prestige car manufacturer.

Touring Spain, the tailgate of my 4x4 Mercedes Benz GLC would open to the top and then immediately come down with great force.
This was very dangerous and could have caused me serious injury.
From Spain, I contacted my local MB dealership in Leeds. Spoke to a guy called Boz in their service department and was told that to change the hydraulic supports would take 1 hr 30 mins labour & including parts would cost £362.76.

Nearby in Spain was a garage, so I went there and was told that they could do the work.
It was a 10 minute job.
They enquired from MB about the hydraulic supports.

Delivery to the garage would be the next day.
The total cost including the 10 minutes labour & parts would be 127 euros, about £108.

What a difference with the £362.76 which I was quoted by MB at Leeds.

Indeed the Spanish garage was about £255 cheaper!

Mercedes Benz will say "Ah yes, but we use genuine MB parts".
My reply is that I was there when the Spanish garage phoned MB to order the parts.

The time taken to change the 2 hydraulic supports was just under 10 minutes; far removed from the 90 minutes quoted by the Leeds MB dealership.

Is it any wonder that MB in the UK is in decline.
They are losing out to BMW, Audi and other far eastern prestige marques.

Mercedes Benz, in my opinion, is no longer a prestige make of car.
I say this because
my list of complaints include the Anglicised pronunciation of European locations.
[Frequently totally inconprehensible] on the MB Comand Navigation system. On previous models I have owned the pronunciation was acceptable.
So my question to MB is why the deterioration into a mostly totally incomprehensible garble on a newer model?
Doesn't a senior MB executive monitor these things prior to the release of a new model?

The fabric of the driver's seat wore to a hole after only 60,000 miles.
MB of Leeds took photos, said they would call me back, but failed to do so.
I have had Vauxhalls & Fords where the seat fabric has lasted far longer!

The Ad Blue system failed costing me over £600 to put right.

And now the excessive proposed charge by MB of Leeds for changing the hydraulic tailgate supports.
The Spanish garage did the job in under 10 minutes.
The 90 minutes quoted by MB of Leeds for a 10 minute job, surely stinks of potential fraud and the public should be made aware.
Maybe MB will take the opportunity via Trustpilot to publicly explain the difference in times quoted for this job.

MB in the UK charge prestige prices for vehicles that are no longer a prestige marque.

What's more MB do not reply to comments on social media.
This is surely the sign of a company in decline, but still too arrogant to reply to critisism.
I shall be taking my custom elsewhere and would urge others to kick this former prestige motor manufacturer into touch.
Ola Källenius, Chief Executive of Mercedes Benz please take note.

Mercedes try very hard to annoy you.

I bought a brand new GLA (new version) in September 2020 and I absolutely love the car. I also bought the service package, whereby I pay monthly for the service, which includes an MOT and they collect and deliver the car on the service day. Very convenient, though not cheap. Lookers in Tonbridge are decent people to deal with. It's Mercedes themselves that often stress me out. If you call the local garage, you are put through to a call centre and the people there are obviously not local and are working from computer. You can't ask an out of the ordinary question. If you do they say "do you want to book a service?" I have ended up driving to the garage to get an answer,
After 3 years the info systems on my car needed to be renewed - i.e. paid for every year. Remote package and Navigation. I received an email two weeks ago suggesting that I "renew today for uninterrupted use" of my preferred services. OK, good idea! But when you go online to renew, it says that if I renew early I lose the rest of my current service and it starts then. So I have to wait until 1st September to renew and, guess what, the price has gone up without warning! Why couldn't I renew ahead of time for a seamless transition when the year, I had already paid for, is up?
If only Mercedes were a little more customer considerate, they would lose the very poor rating they have on Trustpilot, I am sure.

MB Parts. How to buy?

How do MB owners in the UK buy genuine MB spare parts for their cars? It looks as though we are at the mercy of the dealerships mechanics only. Aren't I allowed in this country to repair my own MB?
I have to import parts from the USA and use their sites for part numbers. Why?
I don't expect an answer here as it looks as though MB don't respond to Trustpilot.

I would never ever buy a Mercedes Benz…

I would never ever buy a Mercedes Benz ever again and people need to see and understand they are not the luxurious, professional and reliable company they brand and sell themselves as.

My home was burgled last week and all my home and car keys stole.
Fortunately enough my cars weren’t taken.
As if this wasn’t bad enough luck, I’ve just been informed by Mercedes that it’s going to take over two and a half months to get a replacement key from Germany for my Mercedes ml.
2 and a half months of not being able to use my car or travel to work for no fault of my own and Mercedes Benz couldn’t care less.

Dear Mercedes-Benz Customer Service,

Dear Mercedes-Benz Customer Service,
I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment regarding the service of my Mercedes-Benz CLA, which I purchased in October 2023. When I contacted your service department in October or November 2023 to inquire about servicing the vehicle, I was informed that a service was not required for another year. Based on this advice, I did not pursue a service at that time, trusting the guidance provided by your team.
However, now that a year has passed, I recently contacted your service department to arrange the scheduled service under my service plan. To my surprise, I was informed that I had missed a service that should have been conducted in February 2024. As a result, I am now being told that I need to pay for certain parts, which is both unexpected and unjust, considering I followed the advice given by your staff, and that the car was serviced in October when I brought it.
I am deeply concerned about this situation for the following reasons:
1. Miscommunication: I was explicitly told by your team that the next service was not due for a year. Had I been correctly informed, I would have ensured the service was completed on time.
2. Service Plan: I have a service plan in place that I expect to cover necessary services and parts. Being asked to pay additional costs due to an oversight that was not communicated to me is unacceptable.
3. Customer Experience: This experience has significantly impacted my confidence in the service provided by Mercedes-Benz. I expected a higher standard of communication and customer care from a brand with such a strong reputation.
Given the circumstances, I kindly request that you honour the service plan I have without charging me for the additional parts, as the missed service was a direct result of the guidance provided by your staff. I believe this is a fair resolution, considering the situation was out of my control.
I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of this matter. Thank you for your attention to this issue.
Yours sincerely,
Reece Capemba

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs ! I’ve been taking my car to Mercedes main dealer for years now and will never take my car there again ! (Slough branch) ! Took my car with a slight knocking noise to be repaired 4 thousand pounds later and still not repaired !! It’s actually worse And while they had it (4 weeks) one of the mechanics kept taking it home to test it ! They used up a full tank of fuel , warped my front discs and spilt some sort of break fluid or something over my front drivers wheel which has destroyed the finish of my freshly refurbished wheels !! When I complained they just denied it all ! Got told if I want the car repaired again that’s another 4 thousand pounds ?? The repairs they did do I also had to take back 4 times to actually fix it ! STAY AWAY they are usless and rude

Totally useless people that haven’t a clue about cars. They frequently misgender me and today the lady denied doing it, but I recorded the call, so she is also a liar. Hardly the best way to win future business. I’ve had mostly new cars since 2015, but not any more. My next car will be with a brand that values their customers, which Mercedes clearly don’t!

Zero Stars if I could

Zero Stars if I could. My Mercedes was taken in since 8th July 2024 and have not had it back since. The only call I got was to say sorry but we will be keeping your car in a bit longer. Its now 30th July, no car, no updates, you have to keep calling yourself for a lady at reception to say you'll get a call back, why are you employing people to tell customers 'you will get a call back' and eventually you speak to an advisor and they just say "we are going back and fourth with Mercedes in Germany" (Advisor Quincy)

Shocking service I've had better from Vauxhall in Hayes

MB Giffnock - Complete contempt for customers

Three weeks since I agreed we would get the car in for a repair when they got the part. No contact effort by MB Giffnock as time goes by - I called monday and asked for a call back - nothing. I called today and got to the service team but the person I needed to talk to did not come to the phone, then they hung up the call.
The technical incompetence I encounter there is such that I will be looking to PX the car soon and we will not be buying a Mercedes - they are very good cars from good german engineers but ruined by the fact that Mercedes-Benz franchise dealerships and servicing to half-wits.

I am another unhappy Mercedes customer

I am another unhappy Mercedes customer. Bought E class brand new from Plymouth Dealership in Dec 2016, always serviced by the dealer and done only 35000 miles. Suddenly the break system (SBC) failed. I checked online and I am not the first one with this problem.
It is big risk we take to drive a car where breaks can fail suddenly without any car accidents. I requested a goodwill repair as the product failed without any fault of mine. The dealership sent a one line formality information to head office with wrong information that the car was bought from unauthorised dealer making my case weak from the start. They made it sound like a big favour offering me a car not like for like. Overall it appears that the staff is not bothered at all about whether you come back to Mercedes or not.
I am never going to buy Mercedes again largely because of my experience with Plymouth dealership. I will be taking it further as I feel law should not allow selling cars which can’t guarantee reliable break system.
