Welcome to the UK's largest Cycle Store. We stock one of the UK's biggest selections of bikes from 15 of the world’s best brands like Trek, Cannondale, Cube, Focus, Whyte, Yeti and Frog to name but a few. Plus, the very best in clothing and equipment to help you enjoy the ride.

Today we are Wheelbase.co.uk, Wheelbase Lake District, Wheelbase Darlington and Wheelbase Yorkshire. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and friendly store for everyone who loves cycling, whether that be road cycling, mountain biking, touring, commuting, family riding or e-Bikes.

We are a team united by a passion for bikes and we have a wide range of cycling experience amongst our sales staff, mechanics and mail order team.

Our passion for cycling is invested back into the sport through the sponsorship and support of our British Elite road race team Wheelbase CabTech Castelli.

Now in its 12th year, we hold our annual MTB demo weekend in April, attracting up to 250 riders to our Lake District store, often in spite of the wet Cumbrian weather. We have a great community of cyclists here in the Lake District and there are plenty of events going on throughout the year, including the 3 Valley Challenge in June, our Tour de Staveley in July and the Wheelbase Spring Classic in March. We offer backing to local organisations where possible and are great supporters of Kendal Cycle Club and Fix the Fells.

Outstanding Customer Service from Arawn & Team

Arawn has been absolutely amazing throughout my experience with Wheelbase. Incredibly polite, helpful, and professional. It’s rare to come across customer service this attentive and reassuring. He kept me fully informed, responded promptly, and genuinely went above and beyond. A real credit to the team. Thank you again!

Great bike shop

Excellent customer service and a great job fixing my bike. They charged me £89, the fist bike shop I took it to quoted me £350!!
So if you need a good reliable bike shop wheelbase Darlington is the one to go to 👍👍

Hats off to the staff at wheelbase

Hats off to the staff at wheelbase , we waited a bit of a while for the bike but the staff kept chasing the order and updating as and when needed , picked up the whyte e180 tax today and we’re over the moon. Thanks everyone and hopefully the after service is as sweet !!!

Great Experience

Bike arrived in perfect condition- had great instructions as to how to finish the final assembly bits

Effective problem resolution

Experience in shop very good and responsive to my specific issues and questions. Very pleased with e-bike purchased. I refused first delivery due to damage to the box, presumably caused during transit. Wheelbase responded professionally and dispatched replacement quickly.
