The mechanic was superb. RAC were not
The mechanic was superb. The original online quote was misleading (850). I was informed by the mechanic the work would be 1000 (approx) and this was shortly confirmed via email. It was suggested by the mechanic that the quote was based on the wrong parts. I queried this with RAC who said quotes depend on local cost of parts !
Payment is via phone link. This was declined by my bank, but the mechanic said payment was approved. As part of my query I raised this and RAC could not explain.
Upshot is I do not know WHY the price increased so dramatically, nor whether I have paid or not.
Spent over an hour trying to sort this mess

Roadside recovery was brilliant
Roadside recovery was brilliant. Diagnosed I needed a new battery. Got my car started and enabled me to go home. RAC mechanic came next morning, new battery installed quickly. Service with a smile. Road side service delivered by Lloyd, reassuring and efficient service.

Had a very good experience with RAC and their Home Servicing option. Never used them for a service before, but after this I don’t think I’ll ever use anyone else! Matthew was very polite, explained everything and is a credit to RAC!! Can’t be more grateful!
