Bradlee was super communicative, letting me know exactly when he'd be coming and was very prompt. He changed my battery out super quick and talked me through everything in a lovely personable manner and just generally made what can often be a very stressful experience super calming

Great communication and fast fitting

My master cylinder on my car went and RAC repaired it the next day which was very helpful, but in repairing my clutch I now have two problems with my car. Like most cars I have to press my clutch down to start my car, but now when I do this nothing happens I have to keep pressing it and turning the key at the same time sometimes it takes 30 to 60 seconds to get it going, also every time you press the clutch i now get a warning light for my electronic handbrake, these were not a problem before RAC touched my car but now i have these two issues and RAC are nowhere to be seen I have raised a complaint which can take up to 8 weeks to be resolved and when I ring them they keep telling me this is sitting with there technical team!

I was kept up to date of all communications. The mechanic came out and although I’d been quoted for an alternator originally, it turned out to be the timing belt. I was well impressed because the part was considerably cheaper.

Both guys who attended were superb. Knowledgeable, utterly professional and great at communicating everything. Very impressed by the experience.

Great Service from Lionel of RAC mecahnics. The AI and ringback from the breakdown team and battery team got stuck in an AI selection loop so I had to ring the team manually to book a next day appointment.

The breakdown team then rang and told me I was wrong to ring direct, RAC AI operator systems not serving customers or team members well. But once organised both teams did a Great job.

I am only writing this review to 'cover my back' as I am in contact with RAC regarding a mobile mechanic repair. I have had to telephone four times over two days before someone actually took any action (once I was cut off) and I am now without a car for three days while I wait for another mechanic to arrive to sort out the problems with the previously carried out work. The previous mechanic is available earlier but I do not want to take any chances or sufffer from his possible denials and bad temper. He was quite likely overbooked as he still had another repair to carry out at the end of the day.

I have stressed that I do not want to be waiting in all day and constantly having to chase the RAC to find out when the mechanic is arriving. I had to jolly him along as he was going to be working on my car brakes and didn't want any mishaps. It is just luck that I have Google to search which lead me to realise that the noise coming from my front brakes is nothing to do with 'bedding in'!! So I dug deeper and it turns out that I have been charged for work that was not carried out and the brake inspection that was supposed to have taken place was either not carried out or inadequate. No post-repair road test was carried out by the mechanic. I did not press him for this as I did not feel confident to do so in view of the pressure on his time and his mood. I took it on faith.

This is really disappointing as of all the organisations that provide car repairs I had thought that the RAC could be relied upon. I am hoping that when the mechanic arrives after the weekend (preferably being kept informed roughly of the time he will arrive and not at the end of the day) that my faith in them will be restored and I will not end up in an endless battle trying to get the issues resolved. RAC - please restore my faith in your organisation so that I can give you back the three missing stars.

A personable young man and assistant seemed to be very thorough but could not pump up the tyres due a faulty pump (not his fault).
