Brought a car Dec 2025. Car was damaged while waiting to be collected (dent in the wheel arch) they refused to sort this. We had waited over an hour to collect by this point so I let it go. We were offered the warranties 2000 insurance and we said no at first due to them refusing to pay out with a car my husband had brought. We were assured that BMW had “brought the company” due to this issue and wouldn’t have any issues!!! Well an auxiliary battery made my brakes fail almost causing a massive accident (Range Rover sport so heavy car) and they have told me they DONT pay out for batteries as they are wear and tear. Why sell me a car that’s a hybrid and most of the systems in the car are powered by auxiliary batteries. Shocking customer service. 40 minutes plus each time you try to call. Been left with a £460 bill and nightmares about a near miss an accident. Don’t go near the company
Update * you have already had a complaint from me to your after sales team and you will not do anything about the repair or the damage so I am not willing to do another one! You are clear that my policy DOES NOT cover auxiliary batteries which I still feel is ridiculous giving the fact that my car is run mainly by a system of batteries. The car has broken down again since writing my review and needed to be recovered from the A24 on Saturday evening so I am again without a vehicle and properly about to get another repair bill! Quite frankly I am so stressed out about the whole thing.

Awful experience. Reported that my brakes were faulty whilst car was under warranty. Car was taken to two garages for diagnoses. Company ignored advice recommended by mechanic and are refusing to fix faulty brakes.

***DO NOT BUY OFF THESE SCAMMERS***
Bought a car off Big Motoring World in Sep 25 and went to the Leeds depot to view the car. When I arrived the reception asked a manager who was dealing with me and I quote "Don't know just give them to someone". Test drove the car and everything seemed fine so bought it. Minor issues : I was told it had Sat Nav (the nav card turned out to be missing) and they valeted the car which took an hour and it came back in worse condition (used some kind of cleaner that turned the trim white). Major issues: The cars timing belt tensioner started to fail in the Oct 25 which in their defence they booked me in to a AA rated garage. However the 'fix' failed and it reoccurred in Nov 25. This time Big Motoring Works techs said the noise was normal and part of the car. After some arguing they agreed to put it back in the garage where it was found the tensioner needed replacing. After this, the virtual dashboard started failing in Dec 25 with complete failure in Feb 26. They said and I quote" Don't take it to main dealer as it'll cost too much". The car spent Feb - May in and out of the garage trying various fixes that was done out of my own pocket as Big Motoring Worlds communication was poor or non-existant. The fault was finally rectified after taking it to VW main dealer. Big Motoring World did pay for some diagnostics and refunded my costs but only after sending a legal Letter Before Action and getting the CEO involved. Fast forward to Jul 26, 8 months after the timing belt tensioner issue and it's failed again. I've emailed Big Motoring World but basically been told that they aren't interested despite it being their repair that has failed.
I've had the car for 11 months and it's spent the majority of its time sat in the garage or on the drive waiting to go into the garage. . Once you give them your money they simply don't care, they only respond and take notice when you start legal action against them.
My experience isn't unique seems they have form for selling cars that have multiple issues and then make it as difficult as possible to get anything done to rectify it in the hope you get so frustrated you do it yourself.
Save yourself the hassle and buy somewhere else.

Very bad experience of purchasing a vehicle with them.
Wrong and misleading information on documents during purchase and hand over the vehicle. Pushing for collection but the vehicle is not ready. i cant use the vehicle more than a week after collect it with full paid. issue till now still not yet resolved.

Worst experience ever, do NOT buy from this company!!! Having to take them to court after being misled and miss sold, having raised 6 mechanical issues within 14 days of purchase they still haven’t taken any accountability and have ignored all consumer rights acts.
Company should be shut down, absolute shambles and pretty much just a massive scam.
Save yourself the hassle and stress and buy from an actual dealership because I sure wish we had now.

Lucas was amazing for the handover . We almost didn’t buy the car because we weren’t told about the luxury Tax at the time of purchase ( which was 2 days before the handover ) . The manager Mayla also stepped in to help and sort things out and was amazing . The Volvo xc40 .. so far is a dream car and ticks every box . So thank you Lucas and all the best in life . Thank you Mayla as well .We didn’t buy any extras even though they kept steering us in that direction .
Will definitely recommend Lucas .
Thank you .

Yet to collect the car but a word about the ridiculous high pressure attempt to sell a warranty, paint and fabric upgrades.
Refuse to participate in their scripted sales techniques. They cut our trade in offer in half but added it back on again if we bought the paint upgrade for £1 a month. Presumably so they could claim commission. It's all very unprofessional and potentially illegal.

Please do not fall for purchasing a warranty through Big Motoring World.
Unfortunately, the all singing, all dancing warranty (warranty 2000) was missold to me when purchasing my car two years ago. It added £2000 to the car, and I've tried to claim three times and have been rejected each time. I may aswell have thrown the money away. My last issue is the air con not working. The warranty has a tick at the side stating it's covered, and when Ethan sold me the warranty, it was stated " this is the best cover you can get, it's the most covered warranty you'll find, anything that goes wrong with these parts are covered"
My air con repairs that are £600 to fix are apparently not covered as it is the condensor that's leaking, and it could have been caused by a foreign object whilst driving? Could have been, not definitely the reason? But, they will not pay.
I have been unable to claim anything through this warranty and have had numerous issues with the car since day one.
My only option was to speak to Big Motoring World direct, as surely they would help. How wrong was I. Apparently After Sales doesn't exist either!
After clearly being told, that they had to change warranty companies, as they were having too many complaints from customers, and do not use Warranty 2000 anymore, they still wouldn't help.
I stated that I genuinely believe I was missold this product and have wasted £2000. Still no help!
This is so disappointing from a company as big as Big Motoring World, and especially after feeling like it's been promised I couldn't go wrong buying the warranty.
I really don't want this car anymore, but feel nervous about changing it with anyone, as my trust has been abused, and although I fully understand, the company is about making money, there should also be some customer service too. Very upsetting!
Thank you for your reply. Just to confirm that I did already speak in person to the manager of Big Motoring World (Paul) who told me there was nothing they could do, even though I felt like I'd been missold the warranty. I did state that I would check with the Motoring ombudsman and he said that I needed to do what I felt was right.
I feel it's right to let others know what experience I have had.

Awful company - stay clear. After sales awful after reporting an issue the minute I drove away. Won’t help or resolve anything that is within the warranty and customer service absolutely terrible. Will never buy from them again

So a month on from.buying my Volvo XC90. I had my own 98 point check undertaken by my of garage who have services my cars for over 7 years.
They said the car was fine mechanically.
Sadly 2 front tyres were not as should be. Showing signs that the outer walls were showing signs of "shredding" plus one had pitted marks where it looks like hit kerb by previous owner. This company would not accept my garages report. Insisting I went to kwik fit. Which I did. I then presented report number TWO. Guess what they come back talking about the tread. It is not the tread. It is outer wall of both front tyres. BOTH garages picked up these tyres should not be like this as car is just 2 years old.
Like hitting my head against an AI wall!
I was also told by garages this problem arises when people have cars valeted..the oil used to shine up wheels actually dries out the tires!
So now I have had to go back to the company and ask why they will not accept the 2 independent reports ?? Simply they do not want to pay out for the two tires.
So buying car fine..staff nice. Once you leave forecourt..you are sent on wild goose chase.
Totally unacceptable.
So am sharing here and hope the company come back to me and understand these tyres are NOt acceptable to me as buyer..nor seen as acceptable in 2 independent reports.
So hope you all read this and think what may happen if you have a legitimate problem. They do not want to know once they have your money. Sad to say. What started out the 2nd most expensive item I have ever bought. Has turned into a sour experience. They have you jumping through hoops then still do not want to listen. Very very poor
Even went into Warrington where I bought car for help. Totally put to one side. Told me nothing to do with them as big motoring service is a different company. Cowboys comes to mind. Got my mkney rode off I to sunset... do not want to know
FURTHER ON. Motor company now replied as you will see..and guess what..still nit accepting the AI robot is in the wrong as the robot is talking about tread. We are talking about the tyre walls being damaged. Useless

12.9% Apr on a car thats already price inflated. Pathetic. Adam the salesman was great but the company and their rubbish policies ruined the deal today. No chance would I buy a car from here, plus reading the other reviews, I doubt anyone else will...

Amazing customer service provided by Fanel, Tom and the rest of the team. So informative and answered any questions in great detail. Hand over was super speedy and again very informative from Tom. Over all a fantastic experience, thank you all so much!!!

Terrible experience, took absolutely forever initially because the sales assistant wanted to sell me add ons. Then took forever to take us on a test drive, extremely pushy ! "This is the car you want isn't it?" Well it was until you couldn't answer any questions about the car ! Wanted to to part x my car and they offered eventually (took forever again!) A paltry figure (an insult tbh). I stood and simply said "ok we are done because you are are basically just wasting my time and your time!" Then went to see the Manager who simply said said "Well what were you expecting? & shrugged his shoulders.
I would not recommend this outfit to buy a car from, I was offered £3,000 pound more part x for my car elsewhere and found it a pleasurable experience. Totally the opposite to big motoring world in Sheffield , extremely poor service and one i will not repeat.

We bought a Range Rover Evoque hybrid from Sheffield branch in April 2025. We also bought some additional cover from them. One year on, since May 2026 the EV stopped working. In July the car started having problems while starting. We took it to Land Rover garage, they diagnosed the car with electrical fault, two faulty tyres and both EV and auxiliary batteries are fully drained. The car is completely nonoperational. It is not possible to bring so many problems within a year of driving. Big Motoring sold us a faulty car! Now when we contact them(it is a long wait for someone to answer the phone) they are saying it will at least take 3 - 5 working days to review the diagnosis and they will only provide a courtesy car once the repair has started. We are fully stranded without a car, gone back to using public transport during back to back heatwaves while we are still paying the finance company. There is zero support from After Sales team and no value of a customer who are still paying their finance company.
I have no clue how much more hassle we will have to bear and how long it will take to recover the car from the garage and we can be on the road again.
Never buy a car from this company!!

I was VERY impressed with Big Motoring World in Cannock. Having recently purchased my new car at this branch, I found the staff professional, approachable and attentive. Happy to answer any questions I had, happy to negotiate costs involved and provided acceptable solutions to any potential barriers. Jamal (our sales rep) clearly wanted to sell the car: he went out of his way to make sure both me and the company were happy with the deal. Having only used dealerships before, my first experience outside of that was certainly positive. Thank you.

I left early. Very intense.
It's a weird set up with high pressure and big rooms full of men on computers, girls on recception and coffee. No cars in sight only the one you're interested in. Then glass cases with additional extras to buy of which there are many (all essential of course). I didn't realise this car salesmen thing still existed. I bought at a dealership, same price and relaxed.

Looked at this company when searching for a car Found a car which we were interested in but it was at a site in a different part of the country To transfer it to a site nearer in order to test drive we paid £129 for the car to be transported Before doing so we explicitly asked whether there was any damage or scratches to the bodywork that may require repair Categorically told that Big Motoring World do not sell cars where this would be the case We paid £129 for the transfer of the car and also took out car insurance for the day of £15 in anticipation of driving the car home after test driving it Went to Camberley to test drive The car was parked up outside Looking at the car we noticed a scratch in the centre of one of the rear doors one which that could not be repaired by T cut and speaking to a repair garage subsequently would cost in the region of £350 to fix Despite having made an appointment the staff at the office seemed oblivious to pretty much everything going on The salesperson stated that the car had not arrived yet despite us viewing it prior to entering the office Red flag as to how amateurish this place is When pointing out the scratch we were told that this was reflected in the price If this was the case why was in detailed in the car description and why when specifically asking the question were we told that there were no issues We would not have spent £144 and wasted time if this was apparent We have complained internally at the time and through their own complaint process Complete waste of time as they fail to acknowledge their own lack of transparency and honesty or take any responsibility for the same. There seems a culture of not having any interest in the customer other than their money. Avoid at all costs Subsequently bought a car ata dealership elsewhere Night and day experience compared to these jokers

Great experience purchasing our new car at Big Motoring World. Top notch facilities to make the process of buying a car enjoyable and fun. All the cars we viewed were spotless and in great condition.
The team in general are very welcoming and professional.
I would like to single out our sales executive Eijon who made the process of buying a new car fun and enjoyable. He was not a pushy sales person and provided clear information about finance and optional extras allowing us to make the hard decisions a breeze.
Wait times can be a little long during the viewing and purchasing process but there is a great refreshment bar and any staff member is more than happy to get you a drink while you wait.
You can probably find cheaper deals elsewhere but if you want great service and quality assurance, I am happy with our decision.
Note: I have not yet experience after care service with Big Motoring World. Hopefully I won't need to call them about anything too drastic.

Hamza our sales advisor was very pleasant and attentive. He answered all our questions and if he was unsure he asked. Was a nice experience.
Unfortunately everything that happened after Hamza was a disappointing experience. Waiting an hour for a finance advisor, waiting more than an hour for our handover, it was 2 hours after our appointment time when we finally drove away. On both ocassions, no communication in-between to tell us what was happening or apologies for delays. Sending unexpected text messages for payments when you are not necessarily looking at your phone all the time. Communication is key, all it takes is a little explanation of what's happening. If you are giving handover appointment times you should have all paperwork ready to go. You have a schedule of appointments you know the numbers coming in!
When we were there I had to chase for someone to see me but there were many others chasing contact too. If there was communication the experience would have been better but due to all the waiting around only slightly better.
