Useless SIM, impossible to activate, cheating on credit, no customer support
This website pretends selling sim cards for Austria, but the card I purchased proved useless so that I consider this website a scam that intentionally deceives people.
I ordered a “free” sim with 4.90€ 1-month prepaid package, paying with credit card on this website.
The website said “transaction failed” although my card was charged (=VERY BAD no. 1)
I wrote to their customer service via email but no one ever replied (=VERY BAD no. 2)
I called their telephone hotline but it disconnects right away (=VERY BAD no. 3)
I used their online live chat where the guy named Hassan only answered that he could not do anything and told me to write an email, and then disconnected my chat.
I wrote to their email address for complaints that I have found here in other review, but no reply.
Then, in about 1 week the card arrived per post (suddenly!)
When I inserted the card into my phone, I found that the balance is ZERO, not 4.90. (=VERY BAD no. 4)
The voice menu suggested I buy another 5€ of credit to be able to use the card.
The letter that came with the card also said I had to activate it ("register") in a store or online.
I went to their “store locator”. This locator is FAKE: no house numbers of stores are given, but only street names, and the “stores” are shown randomly on the city map. I found some of the stores mentioned and visited them. They told me they don´t sell lycamobile cards and don´t activate them. (=VERY BAD no. 4)
Then I went to their online activation.
There are three options: via an Austrian bank, via an Austrian official electronic signature (obviously as a foreigner I cannot have any of the two, otherwise I wouldn´t need to buy their card in the first place!), or via their ID photographing system. This latter “system” CANNOT focus on the ID card, always saying “image not sharp enough” even though my phone camera is working perfectly. Therefore, it never accepts the photo and never proceeds with the sim card activation. (=VERY BAD no. 5)
Summary:
This site shows fake “transaction failed” messages while charging the credit card.
It never responds to customer requests per email or phone or live chat.
This site carries a fake “store locator” with inexistent stores or stores that do not sell its products.
The sim card sent comes without credit even if paid for.
The activation of the sim card for a foreigner without an Austrian bank account or Austrian electronic signature is impossible (or maybe even with those, but I could not test it).
This site is thus useless and a scam.
P.S. Update on their reply shown under my review:
Of course I am not stupid and I introduced the PIN. But this was not sufficient to make the sim card work. It still did not let me make or receive a call or an sms! The letter that came with it said that I needed to "register" it in order to complete my activation. This is what I am referring to in my review above.
So their reply below is just an attempt to distract attention from the problems. All of the issues I list above are true as per my experience and none of them has been addressed in the reply.
This company made me lose time and money, I don´t need their services anymore because I already purchased another sim card (not theirs), but I want to save other people from having the same problems that I had.

You can simply activate the bundle plan on your new SIM card by dialing *116*PIN#. You will be able to find the PIN number on the order confirmation email. SIM card(s) are not loaded with bundle plan on the first place, due to security purpose. On arrival of SIM card, we need to activate the bundle plan using PIN number.

Good offer with dumb restrictions
Not so good signal,not good internet connection when you go out of Austria,it doesn't give you the ability to call any land line inside Austria (ex. public services numbers as AMS,Oegk etc).I'm using the global plus program and i hate the fact that every month in order to renew my bundle i have to right down all my data again and again the moment when my number is registered officially there.I also find a great joke that when i asked why this happens they told me that i have to activate the automatic renew to a number for which i already activated by registering it with my ID. Hallo people there are folks out there who really dislike to pay automatically something and like to do it manually. Even if the guys on the service line try to do their best this company has a bunch of dumb restrictions which doesn't let the chance to the employee, to serve the client right.I have 4 numbers in this company and as soon as possible i will take them to another company. I'm totally unhappy.

Ridiculous customer service
Ridiculous customer service, I'm in Austria, but you should realise not every single person will be fluent deutsch speaker.
I've been trying to get them to help with my mobile Internet connection after trying all I could myself for the past 3 days and still nothing.
You're kept on hold for ages with the promise of being transfered , you wait and then the line goes off.
Even tried live chat, appalling to say the least, once you don't speak "their" language, the next thing you see "connection error".
I've been a LycaMobile customer in another EU country since inception and I actually still very much use that line.
But I think it's high time I port to a different network here in Austria. So annoying !!

Terrible customer care. No wonder why you are decaying in countries like Austria
I was thinking as mobile telecom company, most certain things can be done online(as it is Corona time) but unfortunately nothing works for me despite sending email and calling on your custometcare.
The person who takes customer calls when calling from Austria is a tragedy. It looks like you dont get right persons for customer care and you are just managing a burden in your office!!!
