Since 2004, Bluebird Care has been here to keep loved ones where they feel safest: at home. We started as a family business, and today we’re honoured to be a trusted partner in home care for families across the UK through our network of over 200 local teams.
Our purpose is simple yet profound: we’re here to enrich the lives of those we care for—helping them stay independent, maintain dignity, and enjoy the everyday comforts of home. Our team of compassionate professionals is dedicated to making this possible, day in and day out.
At Bluebird Care, we know how hard it can be to balance care with life’s many demands. We understand the emotional weight that comes with aging, illness, or disability, and we’re here to provide support that feels not just capable, but caring.
We offer a wide range of services, from personal care and companionship to dementia support and end-of-life care—always tailored to the unique needs and wishes of each person we care for. And we’re here for families, too, helping lift the responsibility from your shoulders so you can focus on being the son or daughter, rather than the caregiver.
Bluebird Care stands out because we genuinely listen. We make sure that every service is crafted around the people we serve. With us, you can trust that your loved ones are in gentle, reliable hands, so you can have peace of mind and they can have the comfort of home.

My girlfriend has Bluebird coming in 4 times a day to help with her bedbound 96yr old mother, they are more concerned about getting in and out as fast as possible, won’t even change her when asked.
All they do is cause more stress for my girlfriend at a time when she needs less.
Lovely friendly staff. Willing to change care as necessary.

We have had some problems with equipment care and Bluebird proved to be responsive and proactive in helping to get the situation resolved with a third party supplier. In addition, they have also been responsive to needs for extra care at short notice, which relieves the stress in these situations. The carers are efficient whilst being kind and friendly.

Excellent care in all respects. My mum fell and was hospitalised with 3 pelvic fractures. I was really impressed with the speed which Bluebird were able to put a care package together enabling mum to return home quickly. Communication with management and carers has been excellent and mum says that every carer “has been really nice.” Bluebird has done such a good job so mum has regained her mobility and can live independently again. Thanks to everyone at Bluebird!

My mother had a fall and a fracture which didn't need any surgery. The physio said at the hospital, if we can get care in place, she can come out in the next couple of days. I contacted Bluebird on a Thursday, who arranged a hospital visit with my mum that day, a home assessment was done the following day (Friday) and they had a live in carer arranged to come in on the Monday. This was a relief for us all that we could get mum out of hospital so quickly. Excellent communication and speed. The carer updated an app every day, ticking off medication given and an overview of how my mother was progressing, which I could access each day from home. Next time though we will check what is meant by 'live in' carer and the hours of work. The carer had this in her contract, but we only had 'live in' and that she needed a 2 hour break each day. It is highly likely we will use Bluebird again if care is needed in the future.

Applied for this agency, went on a course with them for 2 days then done 2 days course on-line to start work with them.
I made it clear from the start and mentioned it about 5 times that I was going to work alongside another agency hoping they’d find me more work. Every time they said this was OK. I also asked the trainer. She also said this was OK. They asked me for my P45 which I didn’t understand as told them a few times I’m working alongside another agency. They rang me up and told me after all this that we were not allowed to work alongside another agency as had a clause in their contract. Their contracts are zero hours and by law they are not allowed to do this. They cannot stop us working with other agencies. They said the trainer Kelly told me this at training but she didn’t, she said it was OK also so she blatantly lied to her work colleagues. On top of this with all my info they wanted I sent about 5 emails with the required start up info required by them. Every time they kept telling me later they hadn’t received it so had to go back and tell them when I sent it through. This to me is compete incompetence and also the fact the trainer lied and they backtracked on saying this was OK are massive red flags. I decided not to work with them due to lies and incompetence. They wasted my time and money and obviously have unlawful contracts. It’s really a concern if they can treat potential employees like this what they’re like with the clients. They obviously are dishonest and couldn’t give a damn.

This is the most toxic workplace I have ever worked in. One of the directors has done everything she can to discredit me or get me to quit. Selina is a bully. The other director is great, but whilst Selina is there I do not recommend this company.
If you value your sanity work elsewhere. I wish I had read the reviews before joining. Whilst there are positive reviews these do not reflect my experience or that of several other people who Selina has forced out of their roles. I would also call into question the validity of some of these 5 star reviews which have been left by people who didn't receive care from them and didn't work for the company.
For Bluebird head office- you will continue to lose good employees unless you intervene.
I've worked for Bluebird Care - Lancaster & South Lakeland since May 2025, this is my best experience of employment in this industry. Where I thought there was no hope of ever saying i loved my job, what i do and who i work for, I've finally found that feeling and I can truly and honestly say I love my job, what I do and who I work for. Bluebird care for their staff as much as they do their customers. I am grateful and proud to say I work for Bluebird.

From the very first phone call to Bluebird Care in Andover we felt relieved. A very professional, friendly and efficient team set up an initial visit to discuss our mum's situation and from then on it went very well meeting the carers who looked after mum brilliantly.

My interactions with Bluebird Care – covering Newmarket, Fenland, Cambridge & South Cambs – have been outstanding. The caregivers are not only compassionate but also highly skilled, consistently showing real empathy and honoring the dignity of those they assist. The team at the office communicates exceptionally well and is consistently responsive and helpful.

I have never seen a company as interested in staff welfare like Bluebird Care Shropshire. Birthday vouchers, Christmas goodies, flexible rota, good pay as well.

At the beginning, I truly liked the company. The training was super, very informative, and professional.
Later, when the company was sold to a different person, many employees left, and we who stayed weren't supported as we should have been.
Some Managers allowed abuse from senior employees of the ones who were new.
It was sad what happened... Very judgmental and unfair.
