Item arrived extremely poorly packaged…
Item arrived extremely poorly packaged which was damaged. On delivery parts were falling out of the box. Took pictures, rang and emailed customer support as was disgusted in the state in which I'd received my delivery. I was worried pieces of the item would be missing as the item needed assembling before use. Too which there was ( no surprise) Rung customer services said item shouldn't of been sent out in such a state. Still waiting a call back on update on missing parts.

Amazing through and through!

Generally great service, a few glitches
As ever, customer service at Balfe's was friendly and attentive. Mechanics' attention to detail is also great.
Two caveats, however. The booking system for repairs really needs to be reviewed - booking a slot to bring a bike in doesn't guarantee any time frame for when it will be completed. I appreciate holidays are a busy time, but waiting without any idea of completion date makes it really hard to make arrangements. In the event, when I went in a week after taking my bike in, it seemed as if it had been forgotten, as the repair was quickly completed by the next morning. It would be great if we could be given at least a window of a couple of days rather than an open-ended "when we get round to it".
Second, on a couple of occasions I have had conflicting advice from shop staff. I appreciate opinions may vary, but when I went in to ask about a stiff pedal, I was told it was fine, only to have it come off as I was riding ten days later (fortunately not at speed though I was still pitched forward), and another member of staff confirm that it needed to be replaced. And when I had new brakes fitted a couple of years ago, I was recommended to buy a specific model of brake lever, which I did - only to be told this time that I actually needed a different kind which I then also went on to purchase, an unnecessary expense.

Brompton G-line gearshift problem
Had a problem with the gearshift on my 6month old Brompton G-line. Took it to Balfe’s were I bought it - for its first service. The team sorted it while I waited. The gear hub selector retainer ring had worked loose. Back to working like it should. For free! Thanks guys!
