Brompton G-line gearshift problem
Had a problem with the gearshift on my 6month old Brompton G-line. Took it to Balfe’s were I bought it - for its first service. The team sorted it while I waited. The gear hub selector retainer ring had worked loose. Back to working like it should. For free! Thanks guys!

Online ourchasing was clear and straightforward. Communication with the Balfe's Bikes team was very good on product advice and delivery. However i live in Perth and the delivery through DX, who use a local carrier M&H to ultimately deliver the bike, was not transparent at all. The bike seemed to sit at DX S East Supersite for 6 days before any further tracking and delivery information became available

Long waits to get served a counter

Long at the Islington store was very kind, patient and helpful throughout the process of test-riding, selecting the bike and accessories and then picking it up. He paid meticulous attention to the order and ensured all items were handed over appropriately.

Slow and caused more problems than they solved
I’ve now been without a bike for more than two months. After booking it in for a service, I’ve experienced further problems with my gears and brakes (which were not present before). Each time the bike has been in the workshop for extended periods of time (more than two weeks for one repair) and in each time there was an attempt to upsell expensive new parts or work that wasn’t needed. I’m still without a functioning bike - avoid!
